spaceace12 Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Your little toes look funny. They look like they are turned side ways. Is that a hobbit thing? Funny thing is, mine are like that too! Does water supposed to help you lose weight? I drink 3 to 4 liters of water a day and a fridge only for my water bottles (see sig).
thefitness Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Nice job! At this rate you might lose more than 30 lbs. before the goal date!
TheRapidsNerd Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Does water supposed to help you lose weight? I drink 3 to 4 liters of water a day and a fridge only for my water bottles (see sig). Yep. It fills you up and cleans you out. Water with lemon is supposed to be very good for the kidneys.
robbalvey Posted November 15, 2007 Author Posted November 15, 2007 Robb, how are you feeling? Do you have a bit more energy than before? I noticed a bit more ooomph when I started drinking more water and shed a few pounds. Congrats man. Honestly, I'm not really feel that much different yet. Since I've been living in the "250" realm for the past few months, I don't think I'll feel much of a difference until I'm around 240. Wait until then and I'll tell you! --Robb "Just got back from an hour work out!" Alvey
ginzo Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Funny thing is, mine are like that too! Does water supposed to help you lose weight? I drink 3 to 4 liters of water a day and a fridge only for my water bottles (see sig). Go to the bathroom much? Make sure you're getting enough salt. You can whack out your electrolyte levels by drinking too much water. Too much water can be fatal. It can cause a condition called "hyponatremia" where your brain swells up and compresses against the inside of your cranium. This is very serious because there's not much extra room inside your head. Granted you're probably drinking nowhere near the amount of water it takes for that to happen. Just be aware that drinking tons of water can be a bad thing in excess.
carolinacaniac Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Robb, however should I thank you for the knowledge that drinking frozen coke is better than regular coke! I was always under the assumption that it was about the same either way. Good to see that you are making the progress towards your goal.
robbalvey Posted November 15, 2007 Author Posted November 15, 2007 Day 6 - Oops! Almost forgot to post my pic today before I left for work.... Not much really to update today. Yesterday was.... Power Bar - Frozen Coke - Bowl of Soup - Steamed Rice - Frozen Coke. That was pretty much it! Weight loss? -.5 lbs Not too much, but hey, I'll take it!!! Total weight loss: -9.5 lbs Since everyone thinks I have hobbit feet anyway.... here you go.... *sigh*
coasterdude5 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Can you tell so far if keeping an online track of how much you've lost and what you've eaten has helped any?
Nrthwnd Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Hobbit feet are bigger. Which means Robb's feet are getting thinner! Waytago Robbo! And congrats on your working on yourself, in public. I do hope it all goes well for you with excellent results. Hmmm. "working on yourself". That sounded..... dirty. We're all with you on this, Robb. Stick to it.

Probably too much. About the only thing I don't add salt to food wise is salad's, which I had for lunch today. Bathroom wise, not really. That 3-4 liters is streched out between 9am and midnight.
PKI Jizzman Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I think my cafeteria is pretty scary. The normal lunch I see is: Coke - Fries - Giant cookie. Maybe a cheese burger or pizza. And that's gonna cost about 5$!!! I usually pack a turkey sandwich, chips, diet soda (only soda in the house..) and oreos/halloween candy. Oh, and grapes. Rumor has it next year our school is going soda-less. And moving in with Vitamin water. I havent had it yet, but heard some good reviews...but for 1.75$ a bottle? I'll stick to Raspberry Dasani water. -JZ
robbalvey Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 Can you tell so far if keeping an online track of how much you've lost and what you've eaten has helped any? Well, I've lost 9 1/2 pounds in 5 days. I'd say that's pretty good isn't it?
Mozart67 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Robb, I don't know if this will be inspirational or not, but I'll offer it up anyway. About two weeks ago I finally completed my diet. This doesnt sound like much, but I started the diet on Feb. 5 of this year, and as of two weeks ago (through diet and working out and all that jazz) I'm 106 pounds lighter. It's just like anything else. If you set your mind to it, tell the little voice in your head that says "go on..one won't hurt" to go pound sand, and just keep at it, you'll be there in no time. Go for it! Scott
themeparkguy27 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Way to go Robb! This is some great motivation to get me moving. How tall are you, because you really didn't look 260+ in many of the recent pics.
robbalvey Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 Day 7 - Hey everyone! It's been a couple of busy days at work and at TPR which is why there hasn't been too many front page updates. Yesterday was pretty straight forward.... Breakfast - Power Bar Lunch - Bowl of soup Dinner - Jamba Juice! (I love this stuff) Workout: 35 minutes Weight loss: -.5 lbs Total weight loss: 10lbs! Yay! That's kind of like a milestone! It IS getting tougher, though, in the sense that I'm done dropping the "quick" weight, and I'm to the point where losing .5 to 1lbs a day will take some work! I think I'm a little ahead of the schedule now, which is good, I just have to keep it that way! Anyway, here's today's hobit photo....
thefitness Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Mmm, Jamba Juice Dude, 10 pounds in 7 days is awesome!
coasterdude5 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Can you tell so far if keeping an online track of how much you've lost and what you've eaten has helped any? Well, I've lost 9 1/2 pounds in 5 days. I'd say that's pretty good isn't it? Yeah, that is great! But I meant from previous times (I don't know if you've done this online before), if you could tell if keeping an online track was more beneficial.
Théo the little french Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Good luck Robb! France is with you More seriously, this is pretty cool what you do, myself have lost about 3kg (I can't say how many lbs it is) and this is really great! It's not a great loss but I can see the difference on the photos! (and my jeans are a bit too large now lol). Hopping for you everything's going to be okay for you^^ edit: yeah! I've found on my English dico how many kg is a lb: 1lb=0.4536kg so that means I've lost about... 6 or 7 lbs in a few months!!
socalMAN123 Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Dude! Good for you! This is great to hear especially because you've lost 10 pounds in 7 days. Great milestone. Awesome to hear about this Robb and keep up the good work! ---Brent
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Nice Robb! If you keep it up at this rate, you'll be done more than a week ahead of schedule!
Freefallbestrideever Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 That's an insane accomplishment and diet! I need to lose like 20 pounds, but i'm taking the 6 small meals way. Plus all the junk i used to eat before i replace with an Apple and drink lots of water.
DATman Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 There isn't a single Jamba Juice in Michigan. I hate life! Congrats on keeping up with your program Robb! It's a tough thing to do, so keep it up!
Tömmioh Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Great job so far Robb! yeah, the first pounds are always easier to drop, then it's getting a bit tougher, maybe if you want to keep up with the 'schedule' then a bit more work-out would be good, but anyway, you're doing really well, I really doubt I could cope with that little food and I really hope you can finish/beat the challenge!
robbalvey Posted November 17, 2007 Author Posted November 17, 2007 Day 8 - The weekend is coming up. Weekends are always tougher because we actually end up going out to eat more often. I just have to be very careful, that's all! Today was a good day, though. Power Bar for Breakfast. Frozen Coke for my snack. I met Joey, Dan, Jahan, and Elissa for lunch at Baja. Had 2 servings of just chicken (this is REALLY good stuff!) and the really hot salsa. A couple of plain tortillias (I basically made my own 6000 chicken fajitas) and I was set!!! Went back to work. It was milestone day so it was a bit more stressfull. Had some gummy bears that Soren sent me (thanks Soren!) And then came home to a bowl of soup. And the best surprise? There was a package waiting for me from Ron and it included....CRYSTAL LIGHT packets!!!! He sent them to me to help out with the weight loss! Thanks dude! You rock! Anyway....on to today's weigh in..... 252 pounds! Total weight loss: -12 pounds! So far so good, but this weekend may be tough! Thanks again to everyone for your support! It keeps me going! --Robb Thanks Ron!!!! Today's weight in. -12 pounds total!
