CdnbMatt Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 I think I'll have to give this Tennesee Tornado a try...lot's of votes for it. Is that the one with the big loop at Dollywood? I suppose I could just look it up....
SharkTums Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 NEW ONE!!! My new favorite Arrow Coaster is... EAGLE FORTRESS!!!
cfc Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Back in the late 1970s, my favorite would've been Turn of the Century at Marriott's Great America--that thing had airtime to spare before they "demonized" it. As for now, I guess Eurobug's Big Bad Wolf.
TopThrill182 Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Magnum, definitely. Viper at SFMM comes in for #2.
Guest Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Honestly, I have never ridden a bad Arrow. I have enjoyed my rides on all of the ones I have ridden, and have had rougher rides on the outside of Alpengeist and Batman The Dark Knight than any Arrow. I really don't get the hate for them. Anyway, my favorite is Loch Ness Monster. I like Magnum as well, but as I said I like all of the ones I have ridden.
Meteornotes Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Yeah, gotta go with Eagle Fortress. That ride was amazing. dt
cobra_roll06 Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I liked Vortex at CW but I still love Revolution at BPPB. I mean come on, a ride sponsored by Irn-Bru must be good.
CdnbMatt Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 Please pardon my ignorance but what is Gasm?
CdnbMatt Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 Oh wait....I figured it out.....nevermind.
Groteslurf Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Of the coasters I've ridden, my favorite Arrow is Pepsi Max Big One.
Wood Dragon 1988 Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I've only been on a few and number one is easily Big Bad Wolf. I'd really like to try Eagle Fortress, it looks awesome. So much attention to detail.
natatomic Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Magnum for me. I have a soft spot for hypers. Loch Ness Monster and Tennessee Tornado tie for second, though. LNM is smoother (in my opinion) but TT is more fun.
PURE Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Haven't been on many Arrows. Although the best suspended Arrow will have to be Ninja for me.
DBru Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I know that many don't like it, but my favorite Arrow is Corkscrew at CP. The airtime in the back off the first two drops is amazing! But behind that is Tennessee Tornado. Defenitely one of the best drops you will find on a coaster, and some very strange twists and turns. Is TT the only Arrow with a loop that isn't the same size as the "cookie-cutter" loops you will find on Vortex, Viper, Demon, ect? Also, was Drachen Fire the only Arrow mega looper without a vertical loop?
VegasCoaster Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I actually like most Arrows I've been on but I think Magnum would be the best, though I like the Canyon Blaster a lot since it was in my hometown and the airtime in the back is pretty decent for a smaller coaster.
DBru Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I love Magnum, but it was jackhammering all along the course this season.....
Hang And Bang Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Of the few I've ridden I'd have to say Vortex and Top Gun were the best. Vortex especially blew me away and I'm hoping to ride some of the SF Arrow megaloopers next year.
mike541x Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 In no order. Lochness Monster Big Bad Wolf Anaconda Demon
RIP Psyclone Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I'm with the fanman, it's really hard to choose a favorite out of so many greats. (Taken from an American Psycho Patrick Bateman quote, I believe.) We don't really need to stop at roller coasters, though. Arrow pioneered many other kinds of rides, including the OmniMover dark ride system, first used on Adventure Thru Inner Space (see my avatar), and is still used on the Haunted Mansion.
downunder Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I am glad I read the front page, or it would been X, X, and more X loving. Magnum would definitely be my favourite. Out of the others, mainly corkscrews and loopers, Vortex at Kings Island gets my vote, ahead of Viper at SFMM, GASM (GAdv), Demon (GAm), and various corkscrews.
