Luxo Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Letters From Iwo Jima - 9/10 The subtitles needed a shadow effect or borders, the flushed colors in the photography made them difficult to read at certain points. Excellent movie though, now I need to see are The Departed, Babel, Pan's Labyrinth, Volver and Little Miss Sunshine to get my 2006 fix before Oscar night. Should be easy, right? The Royal Tenenbaums - 9/10 Typical Wes Anderson goodness with one of the best movie soundtracks ever, IMO.
SLUSHIE Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Epic Movie- 1.82/10 Worst movie ever. I totally disagree! It deserves a 0.
Adriel Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Rent (2005) 7/10 A very good story and I love all of the songs. But the duration is way too long for this kind of movie. Maybe they have to, like, shortened the dialogue.
Masked_Maverick Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Blues Brothers 2000- 5/10 It was decent nothing too spectuacular but I didn't think it was as bad as a lot of people made it out to be. No matter what it still can't hold a candle to the original which is one of my favorite movies ever.
Blazen_AZN Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Epic Movie: I went in expecting the worst movie i have ever seen, so i came back atleast somewhat suprised that it wasn't completely terrible, it had a couple good laughs (OMG A TALKING BEAVER!), but the best part of it was: When it ended, I felt like I was, at most, thirty minutes into the movie. I actually thought the credits were a joke at first, but they just kept going. The Departed This was a great movie, but i was totally ADD and didn't really catch on to the story in the first half, but once i figured it out, i enjoyed it. Recomended for anyone who has a good attention span or is on high doses of Riddalin. Next movie: Norbit (probably)
Masked_Maverick Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Epic Movie. 4/10 not the best movie ever but not the worst. I found this movie to be more enjoyable than Date movie but that's not really saying much. Some parts I actually laughed while some I just rolled my eyes. Maybe my feeling like I needed to watch a brain dead comedy tonight is leading me to have actually laughed who knows. I don't think I'll be watching it again for a while though.
halation Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Pan's Labyrinth was fantastic. VERY violent. Very beautiful and very sad.
Nrthwnd Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 ~ ~ ~ The Good Shepherd 8/10 Good film, acting ensemble top rate. But very VERY dark and moves slower than most "action film" peeps would like it, heh heh. Top role by Matt Damon certainly a tough one to move through. He does pretty good although I kept thinking there must have been some happiness in the guy's life, even later on in his 'career' etc. But it's based mainly on facts known, so I don't envy the person OR the actor playing him, lol. And you have to LISTEN to this movie. Not one you can crunch popcorn through, with. Important dialogue can be missed, with low sound here and there.
Luxo Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Pan's Labyrinth - 9/10 Just beats Letters From Iwo Jima and Marie-Antoinette as my favorite film of 2006 thus far.
crazyrider06 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 My friends and I saw the stupidest movie the other night, it was called Mr. Jingles.. It was the most low budget movie I have ever seen and it was so stupid. Im rating it a 3/10
Blazen_AZN Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I just saw RENT last night. Probably one of my favorite movies ever. Seriously, any movie that can make me almost cry because a drag queen died is a GOOD movie. Oh, and Idna Menzel is in the movie, which basically makes it completely awesome.
Jayjay719 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 ^^ Rent is awesome! I want to see it on Broadway sometime. Hopefully when I get to walking again.
XLRBR Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Definately Pan's Labyrinth: 9/10 Not a full 10/10 cuz the plot was a weebit confusing, and it was completley in Spanish, but overall it was greatly filmed, had great action and adventure and a few edge-of-your-seaters thrown in there. All-in-all, a wonderful movie. In my humble opinion of course.
Freefallbestrideever Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 ladder 49-9/10...but that could just be because i wanted to be a fireman at one point......
masterofthematrix91 Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 The Notebook (why am i writing this?) yes, i'm a guy. Yes, this is a chick-flick. Yes, i kinda liked it. The ending was sad, but i didn't cry. 8/10
SonOfBeastSucks Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Scooby Doo- Good. Scooby Doo II- Really good! The Oppossite of Sex- It was pretty interesting and different. I liked it.
CoasterExpert13 Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Benchwarmers: Rating 9/10 I really enjoyed this movie! I thought it would be some lame spin-off of Napoleon dynamite meets hard ball, but it was really good and funny.
kahnverse Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I just saw The Night Listener with Robin Williams. It was a little slow in the beginning, but got to be really good. Its kind of a thriller I guess, but its a little different than some of the other movies out there. 7/10 If I had to guess, my wife liked it better. She'd probably give it an 8 or 9.
bgwfreak Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Shut Up and Sing - 8/10 This is the "documentary" about the aftermath and preceding days to the famous "Bush bashing" comment by the Dixie Chicks back in 2003. This was a very funny film and a decent documentary although it seems to jump around a bit. The funniest stuff is watching Bush and his cronies back in 2003 talk about what they "knew" to be fact in Iraq (WMDs), etc. I'd highly recommend this, especially if you were one of those people that said you would "never ever" buy their music again. Guess what folks, she was right all along. Bush was an idiot. lol
coastermaster07 Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 The last movie i saw at the movies was The Hitcher and it was good!!
DATman Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I just saw RENT last night. Probably one of my favorite movies ever. Seriously, any movie that can make me almost cry because a drag queen died is a GOOD movie. Oh, and Idna Menzel is in the movie, which basically makes it completely awesome. This film had so much going for it. It was enjoyable, but the editing really killed it for me. I loved it the first time I saw it, but after that it went downhill. The broadway version blew it out of the water.
Ryan King Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 "The Messengers" 8/10 Movie Review! The Messengers was an overall A movie! It had a pretty good storyline, and what i really liked about it was how it wasn't one of those "Based on a true story" movies. Or some crap like SAWIIIIII. It was unique. The actors were mild, and what i also really liked was how the main character (Some cute girl) didn't have straight white teeth etc. She looked normal. So it helped me to be able to tie into the story a lot better. The movie wasn't a, blood blood death movie! It had some really creepy crap in it. So kept you on the edge and can make you jump on numerous occasions. So overall, good plot, good acting, good sets ETC. I enjoyed it. Id for sure recommend it! -Ryan
