livai Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 I seem old trains, which eliminated the side seats. indeed, I am sure.
rcjp Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Both trains look very cool! To me they don't look like new trains because arm room would be pretty awkward for a two across train. If they are new trains, Vekoma would more likely to leave more arm room. Yes you would think they would leave a lot more space between each seat if they were new. I think they look kind of awkward, especially the human one.
digimax Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Both trains are now making their rounds on the tracks. I'll have a full park update in a couple of days. Â Here are some photos showing more of the train's mechanical parts, for further discussion. Â Â
GwaziBSRider1 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I'm glad to see this ride finally reopen again! This has been a "bucket list" coaster of mine, and I would hate to travel all the way over there for it to be closed.
jray21 Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 The trains look really nice! Someday I'd love to visit this park.
gerstlaueringvar Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 One of my friends was there and he said Battlestar Galactica will reopen on April. Hope they will make sure the last car doesn't detach. (Too soon? )
azza29 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 ^I trust Universal Singapore's maintenance much more than Fantasilandia. With Battlestar reopening and Puss In Boots coaster coming on line, 2015 should be an excellent year for this park.
jedimaster1227 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 It is interesting that both tracks' trains were reduced from four seaters to two seaters despite the fact that the Cylon side was the one that primarily had the issues with the trains.
Garet Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 ^ I thought that too but Robb corrected me. For some reason I thought the seat that came off years ago was from the cylon side and whatever incident shut it down this time was the human side but it sounds like it's always been the human side.  I'd also be interested to see if they'd be willing (or able) to have Premier design new trains, similar to what they've done for the GIB at SFNE. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it only the sit down coaster who has been having problems?Seems like the inverted ride have been doing fine.  I was under the impression that it was a seat from the inverted side that came off. Could be wrong though.  I think that was the first incident, this second closure was apparently due to the human side of the ride.  ^ The seat that came off the ride was on the sit down side.
digimax Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Puss in Boots' Giant Journey opened today. Here's a POV video of this family coaster, which I'm told is a custom Zamperla. Â
vacoaster09 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Did the coaster soft open or fully open... I ask because I assumed there would a lot more special effects going on... and the pov makes it seem like not all of them are working yet.
digimax Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 It's the grand opening today. This ride has a lot of static characters and some animated ones, but they could be hard to see while moving  Here's some more photos to share:    Â
MagnumFreak25 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 That ride just looks kinda pathetic to me. It comes to complete stops on the break runs, and those transitions are just pathetic. The themeimg isn't great either. Any news on battlestar?

The themeimg isn't great either. Any news on battlestar? To be fair it's not aimed at thrill seekers. I think it looks quite fun for what it is, and when it stops on the brake runs there's animated scenes to look at anyway so it's not a big issue IMHO. I think of it as less of a coaster and more of a fun way of getting between each of the animatronic scenes, and considering it's an outdoor ride I think the theming looks quite impressive.

The themeimg isn't great either. Â It would be so nice if we could have just *ONE* day on our forum without someone making an insanely stupid comment. Is that really too much to ask???

I305forever Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I like its theming. Has Zamperla made any other coasters of this type?
Myself Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Looks like they used the same type of track as Thunderbolt, just upside-down. Zamperla does seem like it's going to slowly become more prominent in the coaster market. I know many people think Thunderbolt was mediocre, but this coaster shows just how versatile they can be...I'd bet they could easily modify the basic design to accommodate more thrilling layouts. Â Now if only I could figure out the thought process behind having three-across seats rather than an even number...
cfc Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Nice little ride--like a combination of an old-school Disney dark ride and a family coaster.
gerstlaueringvar Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Nice little ride, they don't need another thrilling ride, they already has three good coasters for adults.
digimax Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Now if only I could figure out the thought process behind having three-across seats rather than an even number... Â In PR speak, the park kept mentioning about the cats' nine lives. Â There's no single rider queue but the park crew will ask if guests are riding alone, when nearer to the loading platform. The platform can load two vehicles at the same time, and the vehicles are dispatched every 40 seconds or so. This is one of the most efficient rides in the park. Â It was also a successful first day, with only a short breakdown in the evening.
I305forever Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 ^^ Probably to push the "unique" aspect of the coaster.
_koppen Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I'm seriously in love with the look of that tower!
