coasterbill 316
It's about time Power Tower had a sign. Very nice!
Brassinthegrass 0
Nice Sign! But whats going on with Gatekeeper?! no webcams is making me antsy.......
DougMJr 0
^ I'm going to say that Darien Lake's Predator would be the first coaster in a non-Six Flags park to get the Rocky Mountain steel/wood conversion as "The Predator Unleashed". Doubt it as Rocky Mountain has already had their hands on it for a while now, as far as re-tracking and maintenance goes. Also, just not a big enough park to foot the investment. Liking the new sign for Power Tower. I wonder where they are going to put all the safety info that is just chillin on that bench there.
coasterbill 316
Nice Sign! But whats going on with Gatekeeper?! no webcams is making me antsy....... Probably because they don't want us to see what's going on inside the launch / show building they're building now.
necoastergp 0
^ Launch?
zachclarke2 0
^Don't you remember the animation? The train is going to launch and go through the entire course backwards when it gets to the breakrun.
rustyinpeace 0
I really am not convinced it's gonna launch backwards through the whole course back to the lift hill. The train will have to go exceedingly fast to make it back to the chain and I fear that it will produce overwhelming forces to the train and it's passengers at the beginning, also B&M also are known to avoid launches. I believe that part of the animation was purely for hype.

Tbcoasterfan 0
Well everyone I drove over to Cedar Point earlier this afternoon hoping to get lucky and see it testing, and it was!
Tmcdllr 0
If it launches backward then it has to be classified as a "YOLOcoaster"

Tmcdllr 0
Monty has probably one of the coolest jobs in a themepark... Looks like he has another ride to add to his daily test list.
Vonni 0
I wonder if CP will ever get a flying coaster, or a floorless?
CpBluestreakCp 0
I highly doubt a floorless. And I doubt a flying coaster either. Seems like they got the best of both worlds with a wing coaster.
Vonni 0
I see your point. But it still has me wondering what thier next coaster could be, other than a RMC refurb of Mean Streak.
CpBluestreakCp 0
Maybe that. But, down the road I don't see a coaster for a great time. Maybe another 3-5 year stretch. I think that Cedar Point could use a great new wooden coaster though, whether it is by GCI, RMC, or even an Intamin! I think a good wooden coaster is what is missing in their coaster line-up at this moment in time. But, that is just purely speculation. We'll have to wait and see.
B&MBoy1982 0
Well everyone I drove over to Cedar Point earlier this afternoon hoping to get lucky and see it testing, and it was! At any moment while you where there, did you see any riders? Reason I ask... I have a friend who states that he was there, who claims that he rode it for the "video shoot" , or "TV Commercial" I know he was at the park, because he sent me a photo of it testing from his phone. BTW, I do not believe this person at all. I just want to clear it up. It would suck for him if I catch him in a lie!

BTW, I do not believe this person at all. I just want to clear it up. It would suck for him if I catch him in a lie! It's very possible. The ride opens to the public in just over two weeks, and they'll need to get their television commercials shot, edited, and produced. I have no idea if anyone has ridden it yet for a film shoot, but it certainly would make sense.
Tbcoasterfan 0
It's "possible" someone may have ridden it I suppose, however when I was there only the water dummies were riding. I've talked to some people who have been working on GateKeeper and they get to ride before the media and they haven't ridden yet. I personally would doubt that anyone has ridden it yet because I haven't heard it has been certified by the state yet, which I believe is a prerequisite to anyone riding. On a side note (you can probably tell from my video) they definitely had the soft wheels on the trains.
B&MBoy1982 0
I think this person is trying to make me jealous, since he knows how much I love B&M coasters. Giving this person's track record of "expanding the truth", I would expect the coaster to launch backward before I believe him about this issue. I can clearly see in the video the test dummys and how the train is running sluggishly due to the softer wheels. Thanks Robb for your response.
CpBluestreakCp 0
Webcams are back up everyone! Looks like a lot of concrete work has been done. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to see a bit of testing from them.
