Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

P. 2038: Top Thrill 2 reopens on May 3rd!

Recommended Posts

Rollermonkey, I'm pretty sure that vertical section is traversed upwardad after the launch. I read a description of the ride and it said the coaster launches into a "top hat" before zipping outside.

And wow to the pics of the track being unloaded. This is getting really interesting.

I obviously have no idea whats going on, but that track lacks the 'track marks' that occupy just about every other Intamin coaster. That 'track' could be for decorative purposes... I'm probably 100% wrong though.

Storm Runner..

Dragster...

Goliath...

Here's Thorpe Park's enterance gate:

NOOOOO.....

If it was for decorative purposes, then why are they unloading it in the back of the park? The decorative track at Thorpe looks more curvy than this, though.

Its being unloaded at the Breakers Express hotel, which is right at the main entrance to Cedar Point Dr. Its actually fairly far from the main entrance to the park. Now, I'm more confused than ever.

who cares

*slap* get out of this forum.

just kidding, but seriously, asking "who cares what coaster it will be?" is like saying "meh, what do I care how far El toro is constructed" on the El toro construction thread.

The construction has before the 2006 season starts. It is very early to build a coaster. There must be a reason. Maybe they want to build faster, and themed the coaster, because it takes a lot of time. So will they themed a looper? I don't think it has many interest. Themed a Aquatrax? Yes! But i think the aera is to big to put "only" an aquatrax, and I think something bigger is comming. But why? I don't think CP will build a prototype, it's to dangerous for a park like CP.

There is a reason if the construction has already start, so early, but I don't what.

If you look at the last arrived piece, it seems they are not very banked, so the coaster should have a lot of speed. I may be mistaking, but that's what I think. I also think the red track is very very classic, and even if it's not ugly, it could be better. I want yellow fluo!

Let's wait and see!

Oh dang now just hopefully it will be a inversion type coaster. Maybe there going to over take Colosses most inversions noing Cedar Point and there records or like somebody said a few pages ago about biggest inversion. I dont think it will be a launching coaster because out of the last three coasters two of them have been launching. Im glad that the Point hasnt chosen another company because of how TTD worked for them. Is it true that Cedar Point like tried to sue Intamin for Dragster not working?

I have been reading this whole thread and it seems that virtually everyone thinks its a launched coaster because intamin track is on site...That company does lots of style of coasters not just launched!

Jarvis "heres to the most inversions coaster WITH a lift hill!" Morant

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think I heard somewhere (I forgot where) that TTD was the worst investment in Cedar Point history (and I heard it as factual information from a reliable source, not just a CP fanboy).
