Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

So after this opens what will have the best drop at Cedar Point, Valrvn or Mllenium Force (or Maverick) ?

Dive coaster first drops are pretty epic however Cedar Point has nothing but epic coasters so its hard.I think I'd like to see some sort of dive into a tunnel or under a bridge or some other near miss element to add to the fear factor. If that layout above is accurate, this will be a great addition to the park!

The 'leaked' height was 230ft. There were a few other things that weren't perfect in that leak (Sandusky Register) but I'd count it as reliable.

If it is incorrect, I dont see this breaking 300ft. My guess would be 250ft max.

The early leak said 223 foot drop. The new permit posted 230. I wouldn't expect any higher than that.

It's going to be a beast. We will know all details on Wednesday.

Best drop in the park has to be Maverick. GateKeeper and Millennium are both amazing as well.

Pretty sure the memo leaked a 223 ft drop and the permit is for 230ft (how tall the structure is), if both are accurate that means the drop hits the bottom of the immelman at 7ft off the ground.

Looking forward to Valravn.

(Millennium Force's drop destroys Maverick's drop, in my view. Overall, a prefer Maverick's ride, but, to me, a jerky, albeit steep 100-foot-ish drop, with a shoulder harness, doesn't compare to a massive, 300 foot, steep drop, with that view on top of it. Maverick's drop is a wow and it's over in a blink -- Millennium's is a looong downward scream...)

If 230ft is how tall the structure is, (not the track) then the track would not end up 7ft off the ground at the bottom. You have to take in to consideration the catwalk railings that go along the side of the track, as well as any weather devices, anemometer, or cameras that might be mounted on polls that they may need to put on top of the coaster. Like show in the picture below:

If this is the case then I after all is said and done I would expect see the track about 3ft off the ground at the bottom of the first drop.

So yesterday Europa Park announced they would have the worlds first VR Coaster experience. They showed some sort of mine train ride - I'm not familiar with the park - and it appears that they are using the Oculus Rift headset. I went on the VR Coaster page, and I found that it isn't something required for you to ride the coaster, it is an add on. And you can either rent a headset from the park, or if you have one of your own you can bring it into the park and use it. I think it's interesting that they let you bring your own. I wonder if CP would do the same thing if they end up getting this VR experience implemented...

Any guesses as to the name of the dive coaster???? I heard they ditched valravyn.....

Heard from who? This seems highly unlikely.

The idiot over at coaster studios loves to spread lies, it's like the 4chan of theme park media. That's probably where he heard it from.

So random and maybe weird but: I was just watching GateKeeper on Cam1, while it's dark, and it reminded me of one of those fast house centipedes

More normal thought: glad to see GateKeeper back in action

You're not the only one, I've always thought that's what it looked like at night also!

Figured as much. This reminds me of Screamscape 15-20 years ago, back when 80% of their "news" was hearsay rumors.

Hell, 80% of the content on that channel is a bunch of nonsense that teenager makes up.

If you look at his prediction videos he was spot on for the both Six Flags and Cedar Fair. I think alot of it is his opinion but when he attempting to report the news he is pretty accurate and even handed.

I really enjoy Coaster Studios. He is passionate about Theme Parks, and shares his enthusiasm in a very creative way. He is not the first person to report rumors as fact. He does not deserve the constant bashing that he receives. Its really sad to see people treat anyone, but particularly a fellow coaster enthusiast in such a way. When did a hobby that was about having the most fun possible and creating a community become about snarky insults and bullying?

His April Fools video was hilarious and the (theme park) versus (theme park) and (coaster) versus (coaster) and even funny parodies of rides and he edits the video so it looks like a film trailer, ha ha. I think he's a really good guy. Also, I see nothing wrong with that post he did above. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I also love how professional Coaster Studios is. He's very chill and doesn't swear in his videos. Also he takes really good 60FPS footage!

And stop whining about how he lies. He is accurate with his predictions 95% of the time, and even admits that he could be wrong.
