coasterbill
Whatever they're doing, the thought of a killer RMC right next to Maverick is ridiculously amazing. That's an insane 1-2 punch. During Brews & BBQ, there would be absolutely no good reason to leave that area at all. Well, maybe... but now it'll also be flooded with coaster enthusiasts so on second thought maybe I'll be at Millennium Force.
CP Maverick
Exactly. MF and Rougarou. Raptor, Blue Streak, and Valravn. Magnum and Dragster. Plenty of good places to hang out for a few hours.
coasterbill
Maybe Gatekeeper, Gatekeeper is like a 25 million dollar pile of enthusiast repellent. Bonus points because riding it gives me the excuse to pull my favorite move of "Hey Brit, I didn't plan this until right now but since we're here and we're going to the front of the park we should ride the Sky Ride, I just now thought of this, it wasn't pre-planned at all". ytterbiumanalyst
^ Love it! The only excuse one needs for riding a Skyride is that it exists. The only excuse allowed for not riding one is that it's closed.
DorneyKid14
Honestly, if they really want to just tear it down, they would have done what Six Flags did to Psyclone or what CF did to Son of Beast and reduce it down to nothing but a pile of splintery rubble that doesn't even halfway resemble a coaster anymore. The fact that they appear to be taking it apart piece by piece instead of full-on scrapping it indicates to me that there is more to the story than just "RIP Mean Streak" OK, you win. It's being shipped to Dorney Park and is expected to open in 2018. Not as an RMC, though RMC is in charge of the relocation and re-erection effort. I can confirm this. Mean Streak will be placed in Hydra's current spot, however it's too expensive to remove Hydra, so they are simply building Mean Streak to be intertwined with Hydra. That is why they are taking it off piece by piece so reconstruction is easier. For the name, they are still deciding between Green Streak, Moldy Wood, and Hercules: The Revenge of the Revenge. That makes perfect sense. They will use the whole terrain and even the old footers in the pond from Hercules. And I would go with Hercules: The Revenge of the Revenge. ytterbiumanalyst
^ Yeah, you definitely need to go to Pink's. The menu is limited of course, compared to the dozens of varieties that the Hollywood location has, but it's very good stuff, and one of the best places to eat in the park. Last year Coastermania took place during Brews & BBQs, so make sure you get to that too!

drummermattk
Hi guys! so after editing a couple youtube videos and going through and deleting multiple duplicate pictures, I thought it would be time to post a medium sized TR from my trip to the park First off this was my first time at the park since 2014, back when Mantis was closed and rougarou transformation was taking place. I would like to start with a couple reviews of the three main coasters i wanted to hit no matter what: -Valravn: HOLY COW. This was my first dive coaster and boy oh boy, I dont know what was better, getting in the front row after a 10 minute wait for ERT, or seeing TONY CLARK HIMSELF on station Master! Loved the somewhat airtime on the hills and the selection of inversions but i stick with what someone told me while working Vortex saturday night, Valravn is a one trick pony. -Rougarou: I was waiting for this ride as i never rode a floorless coaster and wanted to see how it felt differently since the last time i rode it, it was Mantis. Needless to say i was somewhat surprised and impressed and i hope more parks decide to start doing Standup/Floorless conversions.(ALSO DOES THIS COUNT AS A NEW CREDIT!) -Maverick: Last time i rode maverick was with the old hard shell OTSR. BOY OH BOY my top ten list will be updated. This is in the top 5 hands down! Anyways enough of talking and heres my latest youtube video and pictures! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQVJOa6e9g8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOazS998vAM Perks of being a cedar fair employee, Employee parking. PLUS A great view of Gatekeeper Heading back towards the front of the park. Midcourse and coming home BUT The main of three reasons for coming up here is this little birdy Insert ejector airtime........................oh wait nevermind. Twisty and forceless Well hello there. Oh HELLO TO YOU, my unloved son..............................................oh wait wrong park "Stand up to your fears" R.I.P. To my first and only stand-up Loud and Forceful (finally Cedar Fair did something right lol) just kidding. Looking back at one birdy but heading to another........... I think i see the v-bird behind R-bird OH, heres the V-bird. My first Dive coaster! Block tests. Always love doing these at KI Tony Clark boys and girls! (he never liked my tweet) Like someone told me "You ride one dive coaster, you've basically rode them all" Looking towards the next thing of the three i wanted to hit. A mystic.....................Werewolf Long Live mantis but i idont want to stand up to a rougarou Met up with a couple KI Flume crew co workers and started towards the back of the park but had to take some pics since the clouds where leaving. H20 Dragster................oh wait wrong part of the park. LOVE the airtime and the walk on line In other words to describe this............MAMMOTH Decided to skip Gemini since i already have the credit Adventure Express 2.0 just kidding. Fun for kids, little painful though My unloved son..............WAIT wrong park again. decieded to board the train and ride over to the midway and got some ooks at Mean Streak...........i mean an RMC project (i have heard something from an employee that doesnt work there anymore) and i did see the RMC truck but did not respond quick enough to get a pic Part of the lift that's gone. Wax museum was open but the streak?.......i don think you'd get as a far as the station Ghost town and getting startled by the cap guns being shot off Looking down at slingshot and Gemini, Well hello there Dragster holy airtime heaven. Two great Intamins in on e picture (should be three but ya know STR is gone) Hills for days Another ghost town? i think they have a rougarou problem yeah..... i think they MIGHT have a rougarou problem. speaking of rougarou, hello there. Loved the pictures from the train. Unfortunately as i just looked through my phone, the offride video of rougarou from the train was not in my video but i will get it on a separate Rougarou video. Station. Loved the last overbanked turn one trick birdy. Airtime "Welcome back millenium force riders please exit to your right and have a cedar fantastic day" here they come. airtime? OHHHHHHHHHHH Airtime for all you track enthusiasts out there. ready to go whats a trip to cedar point without a Millennium force logo pic! Heading back towards the front to ride the two beemers before heading out. My only other B&M invert i've rode other than Banshee Loved the repaint, and kinda wished they could re profile the ride with new track and modern invert cars (Banshee trains) Walk onssssss last ride before heading out walk on also. Thanks for a great day Cedar Point! Ill be back when the RMC opens lol. Edited January 23, 2017 by drummermattk
DILinator
Maybe Gatekeeper, Gatekeeper is like a 25 million dollar pile of enthusiast repellent. Thanks for confirming that I am not an enthusiast. Gatekeeper is definitely my favorite B&M at the park. GateKeeper is my favorite B&M there as well, and is a fantastic coaster! While I may have been more enthusiast-y in my younger years, taking about 8 years off from avid coaster enthusiasm (and getting old) has definitely moved me well out of stereotypical "enthusiast" territory, and into a strange in-between place between GP and enthusiast. Also, GateKeeper is NOT forceless, unless you ignore all real-life definitions of what force is. Just thought I'd again flash my GP non-enthusiast side! Oh, and seeing this picture of yours, drummermattk, was really strange and bittersweet for me... given only a month ago, my daughter and I were sitting in that very train, enjoying a special Father/Daughter day in the park... Don't get me wrong, I won't really "miss" Mean Streak! But there's always a slight wistfulness when something you experienced, especially with a special someone or on a special day, is gone forever... Texascoaster89
I'm all for "Avid Attraction Enjoyers" being a thing. I call myself an "enthusiast"...but I love to ride rides, I don't really care what it is. If it's a park and I'm there and it's open...I'm down for a ride. I do really enjoy Gatekeeper, about the only ride I don't enjoy in CP is the mine train because it's such a squeeze.
kahill04
Quick question, is the entire park closed for halloweekends once the haints open, or do they have rides open as well? I tried looking on the website like I did for KI, but didn't see whether or not any rides were open.
