What are these buildings next to Mantis? Are they abandoned or do they have some current purpose?

Boneville

"Oh no a fire in that building! Better shoot the water over the fence in the opposite direction!" Sorry guys but thats just funny to me. I really do enjoy the CP&LE railroad. Nice way to relax in the park and get some great views of the coasters.

I'm torn when it comes to Iron Dragon. On one hand, I'd like to see it removed for something new and better, but on the other hand I want to see is stay as its a dying breed. If it were removed I'd like to see something along the lines of Firechaser Espress. But if it were to be kept I think a nice re-theme would be in order, and a significant drop in the height requirement.

While I've haven't been on Iron Dragon, I'd have to say based off the 2 I have been on, Big Bad Wolf was leagues better then Ninja at SFMM. Obviously BBW is gone now so as far as I'm concerned the best is already gone. That final drop really did it for me. From what I've been told by others, Ninja is generally regarded as better then Iron Dragon. If they removed the ride, I personally wouldn't lose sleep over missing the credit. But I can't vouch for everyone.

For all of the conspiracy theorists out there, why do you feel like Cedar Point needs an excuse (like decreasing ridership) to get rid of Iron Dragon? It's their ride, can't they just do whatever they want with it without caring what enthusiasts think?

They'll say something like "we're moving in a new direction" or "we have exciting new things planned for re-developing Iron Dragon's former location" and that will be that. Personally I'd rather they keep Iron Dragon but the park can do whatever they want with it.

I feel sorry for the workers that are going to be catching hell from parents because of this decision.

As do I. I can imagine the conversation right now:

Worker: I'm sorry, but your son is too small to ride this coaster.

Parent: NO! HE WAS JUST TALL ENOUGH FOR THIS LAST YEAR AND NOW HE CAN'T RIDE IT? BULLS**T, YOU'RE LYING!

Worker: Ma'am, check the height requirement guide, I assure you this was not a typo.

Parent: JUST LET HIM RIDE! I PAYED FOR THE TICKETS THAT PAY YOUR JOB AND THAT MEANS I OWN YOU!

Worker: I don't make the rules. Ma'am we're going to have to ask you to leave or we're calling security.

Parent: YOU ALL ARE WORTHLESS PIECES OF BULLS**T! I PAYED 120 F***ING DOLLARS TO GET INTO THE PARK, AND MY SON DESERVES TO RIDE!

Worker: (Calls security) Hello, this woman is mad about the Iron Dragon height requirement. We need you to escort her out of the park.

Parent: (as security takes her away) I'M NOT SPENDING ANY MORE MONEY ON YOUR STUPID PARK! F**K ALL OF YOU!

Ugh...... I feel bad for both of them

I feel bad for the kid with this horrible parent.

I agree with Larry.

^If Cedar Point was looking in keeping Iron Dragon maybe they could get Vekoma to put new floorless trains on it and give it a retracking to make more suitable for a 48" and taller crowd!

Yeah or they could just leave it exactly like it is because it always has a full queue and they now have a parts train if they need it.

I have to admit, I'm slightly annoyed that CP has Pipe Scream listed as a Roller Coaster on their website...

CGA counted Survivor as a coaster when it opened. As long as RCDB doesn't list it as a credit, CP can count Pipe Scream as a thousand credits, and I wouldn't really care much.

CCMR and Iron Dragon are CP's mid-level family coasters. Well, they would be, if not for height restrictions. Luckily, CP seems to be conforming to more "normal" restrictions on newer rides (the new mat racer is 42", and GK and Banshee are/will be 52", not 54" (which I think is X-Flight's restriction.))

Is that a way to encourage people to ride the coasters with higher capacity?

If Iron Dragon is removed and something like FCE or even Powder Keg is built at the spot, CP would finally have a great family coaster.

^ I would really like that, but I don't expect CP to go in that direction anytime soon. I could be wrong, but I think CP next Coaster will be another high thrill Coaster. They certainly are not like SFMM, but they still lean towards a high thrill style with their Roller Coasters.

When CP turns to B&M, they are certainly looking for family thrill and over priced ride. GK looks great but I just don't think it deserves that much money.

The park have not built a family oriented coaster since the 90's, I really think it's time to start spending big money on that.

Juvelen and Winja's are perfect examples of what you can achieve in a family ride, if you just decide to invest a bit more time and money.

a interview of cedar point said that the future will be tough... so i am going to try predicting it and while im at it i am you can say what you think, i put it in ask alvey as its more of a question..

so, i think cedar point will take down mean streak in 2016-2017, and get a wooden gci coaster, maybe with an inversions like gci said at iaapa, so if they got a gci woodie, what else do they need? well i think they need a big flying coaster, maybe over the lake or something? i think they might remove shoot or re-locate it for the flying coaster, but as cedar fair dont really have any b&m flyers at the parks that might be a tight possibility.. i think they might get a poler coaster neer mean streak and maverick, to get the next tallest coaster (over 550ft) and get a mack water coaster on the lake, i doubt they will take shoot the rapids out but if they did, i think they would re-locate it.

thanks
