IrishBuckeye
I thought CP limited the # of fastlane wristbands sold per day. Edited March 22, 2013 by IrishBuckeye
JJLehto
Anyone know if Gatekeeper will have the hour ealry access? Someone says no but I swear they said it would/that wouldn't make sense. Edit: Those fat boy seats will make my friend happy, won't have to smush all his fat around to fit! And yes, the price jump took me by surprise but I not longer care, and just am excited to get to CP again and ride Gatekeeper! Gunna try to make it there twice this year because I feel like a madman
COASTER FREAK 11
I thought CP limited the # of fastlane wristbands sold per day. There is a limit, though I don't know what it is.

It must be very high, as I waited 30-45 mins for a couple of the coasters.
thepoint4life23
Yes Gatekeeper is on the early ride list.
IrishBuckeye
$85 for fast lane plus on a saturday is way too much, IMHO. What I would do is get a regular fastlane and just deal with the wait for TTD and GK. The time saved by not having to wait long for MF and Maverick and other rides would definitely make up for it, especially when considering I usually only ride TTD once per visit. JJLehto
Yes Gatekeeper is on the early ride list. Thanks. Yeah that's the way to go. Gunna get the cheaper pass and just try to get GK and TTD done in the hour early/ASAP.

PhantomNick
Well, when you're like me and your wife has a paltry amount of vacation that's reserved for medical crap, then weekends are your only option to go and ride GateKeeper. Just sayin' But the thing is, if we want to ride a lot, we have no problem justifying the extra cost to get a FL (or, now, possibly a FL+). Totally worth every penny to make the day at the park the most enjoyable that it can be! And I have no problem with them pricing it higher to further limit the amount of people with them. Makes it that much better if you get one!!
ernierocker
It was insane before they introduced Fast Lane I bet. We went last year on opening day (which was VERY crowded) and with Fast Lane we dominated that crap out of that park.
PhantomNick
Yep, true story there! Last year we went with another couple, and we had to go on a weekend as well (Fri. night - Sunday). We gave the Fast Lane a go on Saturday, and we loved it so much we happily ponied up the dough and got it again on Sunday!
Koasterking48
Will Fast Lanes for the Saturday after Coastermania this year be necessary?
azza29
I thought CP limited the # of fastlane wristbands sold per day. There is a limit, though I don't know what it is. It must be very high, as I waited 30-45 mins for a couple of the coasters. So perhaps this is why they're upping the price? If last year's pricing led to that sort of wait in the fast lane line, then it sounds like it was too cheap or too many passes were available. I'm surprised the park doesn't have even more variation in the way they price these things. Could make it $50 or so on off-peak weekdays and then up to the $80-90 mark on peak weekends, to reflect the relative crowd levels in the park. GigaG
^The B&M coaster that have been built in Asia as of late, seem to have more forces than the American ones. I think that's what he means. Well, we can only hope. Why do we get trims and forcelessness?
coasterlover420
Perhaps they are raising the price of fastlane while reducing the amount of wristbands they sell every day. That way they keep the income from FL the same and keep lines shorter so it will still be worth the raised price. There were certain days last year where the FL wait times at the most popular rides extended over 2 hours. These were mostly Saturdays in July, of course. JJLehto
Could be. Also maybe just economics. If that many people bought it, can raise the praise. Could be a $$ grab but as it was said may price many out and reduce the number bought. Which would make the people happy and maintain profit. Wait...trims? Forcelessness? Please, don't tell me Gatekeeper is trimmed? D:

AndrewRnR
Regarding Fastlane... It simply is supply and demand. Demand was higher than supply so prices were raised. I don't see it as a cash grab but rather it makes perfect business sense - I would've been more surprised if they didn't raise prices after how popular it was later year. It is called yield/revenue management... Matt Ouimet has said he wants to bring that discipline into the chain even more (not surprising for an ex-hotel guy). My guess is they did a simply elasticity test and saw the potential to optimize the price to the point where they can balance the demand while increasing revenue. JJLehto
Yup, it may not be what we wanna think about since these places are for fun, but they are businesses after all. And with the new "plus" they have this year. At first was kinda miffed the biggest 2 are now extra, but it's a pretty good idea all around. TTD and Gatekeeper are gunna be the biggest lines, and cause the biggest issues with fast lane...so this will either reduce the # of people buying, or simply they will pay more for the service for the 2 biggest rides. Jerrykoala2112
I just noticed that Cedar Point's new entrance looks very similar to Elitch Gardens's original entrance! This was before they moved the park.
Wingwright
I just booked my first trip to Cedar Point for Monday, May 20! I'm debating whether or not to buy Fast Lane. I don't mind spending the extra cash, but I figured since its a Monday early in the season it might not be necessary. I need some expert advice! Thanks! ernierocker
^You can always just get a feel for how crowded it is once you are in the park. There are plenty of places that sell it, so it won't be a problem getting it inside the park if you need it.
