The Six Flags Magic Mountain (SFMM) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Im sure if SFMM built a 550 foot monster, nobody would be complaining.

If it didn't have enough air time, was built over a parking lot, and/or was built on a spot someone thought was ideal for a flat ride, yes at least some people would be complaining.

Then Robb would make fun of them.

SFMM could build the undisputed best coaster in the world and still, somebody would have something to complain about.

Actually, this probably applies to pretty much any park.

I'm still debating people over El Toro being a wooden coaster...5 years later. Yeesh

Here's how you handle these arguments. Whack the person who cliams that El Toro is a "steel" coaster with a 2x4, then with a crow bar. That person will then "feel" the difference.

Regarding a coaster to take up the space of the Log Jammer. I was thinking Six Flags Magic Mountain should get back to its roots as it is a Mountain. They should build the mountain up so it looks like one of those Swiss Alps mountain They can run bobsled type tracks around and in the mountain. The first part of the ride would of course be the climb to the peak and than have the coaster ( made up of two cars) runs down the mountain. The coaster would take you inside and outside of the mountain as it makes several circles on the way down. And they could theme it up with ice glacier, snow type stuff and don't forget using an abominable snowman as an added surprise. At the end of the mountain, the sleds can splash a little bit into the water. As an added bonus they could bring in a sky tram ride taking people thought the mountain too. Name the coaster ride after some famous mountain in the Alps. Anyone have any ideas what to call this ride?

^Well, Magic Mountain actually was one of the proposed names for Matterhorn. Although, we all know Magic Mountain will never go back to its roots as a "Mountain". In fact, it's almost surprising that they still have the title 'Magic Mountain'. It seriously sounds like something you would name a kiddie park. 'Extreme Mountain' sounds like a much better name, since extreme rides are all they build. A terrain coaster seems quite unlikely at this point. However, they did do a descent job with Green Lantern's inside queue, so there might be SOME hope for a halfway-decently themed ride.

Thinking further about that Log Jammer location. Maybe they expand that water feature into a lake and put seating into the side of the hills. Then they could put a show on with lights and fireworks. Maybe they could figure out away to use the old Loony Tunes cartoons and project them onto a screen made of jetted water from the lake? Mix in some live action and a musical score they could be on to something that the whole family can enjoy. There would be nothing like it at any theme park anywhere.

However, after the 1st season all the dinos will be static displays. Finally, in April before the summer rush there will only be 1 static display due to refurbs before the summer.

Lol...and half of the night time lights will not be working anymore either with audio issues as well.
