I honestly don't see Scream getting new trains.

^There were lots of random Scream train parts sitting amongst the ride on Sunday, so I'm thinking an extensive train rehab will happen. I don't see why it would need brand new trains, though.
From what I've seen sitting in the yard thus far, it looks like it's just getting some new cosmetic parts (the plastic/fiberglass parts) for the retheming, kinda like how inverts will sometimes get new wheel covers. They will probably also disassemble the trains to repaint the seats and restraints. There's no need to replace the trains altogether.

^^Assuming you're right, I love how the park is getting new pieces for the trains so the ride won't be ugly when the new coaster opens. The trains... yeah because that's the problem. That's why the ride's ugly.

I mean look at this ugly train...

The rest of the ride area looks perfect. Those trains totally ruin it for me.

That paint scheme is actually pretty hideous, hopefully that will change. SFDK Medusa also sits smack dab on a parking lot, yet you hardly ever hear about it. I think that's because it's just presented better. Better colors, station, trains...

Funny how they still have the white lines for parking.
Thats always the part that really bothered me. It's not that the coaster was placed where a parking lot used to be, it's that they were so lazy that they couldnt paint the lines out or just throw some gravel down. It just screams (no pun intended) "I dont care".

Scream's parking lot seems like an ideal opportunity for some well done 3D street art. Not necessarily these examples, but something along these lines that takes into account the riders' perspective would be much better than parking lot lines.

This is what I meant by Paint - The - Pavement. Hire a professional artist(s) to first ride the coaster and figure out spots for Steampunk 3D art. Close the thing down for the time it takes to paint it, then open with the new theme! Easy! And where the fences are could be steampunk walls and even giant machinery in turn around spots etc.

EDIT to add: And from what I know, this could definitely be a First for any coaster, yes? And the resulting rider publicity on PunkScream may actually out-PR Twisted Colossus!

3D art wouldn't exactly work, because the view only works from certain angles, and when you're riding a coaster, the majority of people aren't stopping to enjoy the area around them. I think people would aesthetically enjoy something other than a parking lot, but to go as far as a 3D painting I think is a bit much for a coaster's landscape.

I would almost be amused with SFMM trolling us by "repainting" Scream, and by that, I mean repainting the parking lot lines and leaving the coaster as is.

Paint the coaster, enhance the trains and make the entrance look more enticing. Anything more than that and I'll be shocked. I honestly do not care that much about a parking lot underneath a decade old coaster. They'll do all that work, and people will still dismiss the ride as "rough".
