B&M Magnetic brakes
FeelTheFORCE replied to kaliboiryda510's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes, I agree. Probably THE hardest magnetic stop for me, damn. Lol, it's fun in a surprising way though. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
FeelTheFORCE replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think I remember reading somewhere that KI wanted the lift hill to stand out and strike people as being "massive" and "intimidating," while the rest of the layout is "hidden." -

I haven't ridden Diamondback yet, but I know Nitro's are fairly forceful. -

Where did the rush go?
FeelTheFORCE replied to skaunit's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I haven't gotten that feeling for years. I only get it on drop towers anymore, and even that's usually a hit or miss, and doesn't happen all the time. -
Everyday Objects

Going over some hills here at fast speeds gives me that feeling in my stomach. Also, not here at college, but when I go home, since I live near Pittsburgh International Airport, the occasional plane will sound like a B&M in the distance. -

Are you people 100% sure that it's the Washington Redskins logo and not, say, the logo of a local high school or something? There are many many high schools, middle schools, etc. around the country that use pro logos, or ones very similar. Not saying anyone is wrong, just wondering. 18-1 = Easily the biggest "FAIL" of the decade, if not longer. Anyway, great pics! I really need to get there one of these years. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
FeelTheFORCE replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah that's true, didn't even cross my mind! Still though, sometimes you wait there a good 15-20 minutes before a train arrives, at least I have. By then they could be done and the path reopened. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
FeelTheFORCE replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was wondering that also, but I guess it will just be like what Carnage said, and people will have to walk ALL the way around, which is a long ass walk. -
Photo TR: Off-Season Aerial Shots over Cedar Point!
FeelTheFORCE replied to bgroodog's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I said elevator cable lift system, there's a difference. Millennium Force was the first to use it (proof, read under "features"). The generic cable lift system was used on scenic railway coasters in the early 20th century. As far as TTD goes, I know it wasn't the first, which is why I said, "All three had either something that had never been done before, or was brand new." -

^ I believe at Coastermania a few years ago. Search for Beemerboy's Coastermania (I believe 2007) Photo TR. Sure, but they've known that since they built Millennium. And then they built three more--the last of which has probably been the most reliable of the bunch. He may have said it, but I would take it with a grain of salt. Yeah, but CP probably knew what they were getting into with MF, TTD, and even WT, and were willing to take the risk for a quality ride experience (especially for MF and TTD). All three had either something that had never been done before, or was brand new. MF -Elevator lift system. -Of course that's going to have difficulties it's first few years. TTD -Hydraulic launch system. -It took CP a good 3-4 years to finally get the hang of running TTD efficiently, and when they do, it's run very well! Wicked Twister -Twisted back spike. -Obviously going to create stress issues on joints and require constant maintenance, which it has, even to this day. I think what finally put Cedar Point over the top is the track on Maverick that needed replacing. From what I've heard since 2007, they weren't too pleased with that fiasco, and that whomever it was in charge of that area, didn't catch it sooner, causing it to need replacing and the opening to be delayed. -
In my opinion, it would be cool at first, but the novelty would wear off quickly. This goes for any park, not just Magic Mountain. It would be cool to live close to a park, but not next door to one, especially a major one. The constant noise, commotion, construction, traffic, etc. might get annoying after a while.

Snowing here in western PA. Supposed to get 1-3 inches overnight. I'm about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
FeelTheFORCE replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, a lot of GP are like that. They ride one type of coaster (in this case, inverted), then every other coaster of the same type has the same name. I have a friend that constantly calls Millennium Force "Superman" because of Darien Lake's Intamin Mega Coaster. -
How many annual passes do you have?
FeelTheFORCE replied to Electerik's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've only ever had two in my lifetime, both being owned last summer. I bought a Six Flags one, because at the time the price was cheaper than buying multiple one day tickets to SFGAdv for my NJ trip last June. I also received a free Silverwood Gold season pass for winning the Aftershock naming contest. I really don't go to the same parks enough to warrant the purchase of a season pass. The closest Cedar Fair park is 3 hours away (Cedar Point), and the closest Six Flags is 4.5 hours away (SFA), while the closest one worth going to multiple times a season (in my opinion) is 6 hours away (SFGAdv). If I did buy one, it would be to Kennywood when they eventually offer one. I do currently have an unlimited visits for 7 days to Universal Orlando and Islands pass, that I'm saving for my May trip, but I don't count that. -
Yeah, it seems like they are almost being "phased out," if you will. I know when I was a kid, they were on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, in movies such as Space Jam, had a "tiny" version in "Tiny Toons," and more recently, "Baby Looney Toons." Now seeing them anywhere besides a Six Flags is a rarity, at least for me.

Driving to parks in California?
FeelTheFORCE replied to window's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah it's possible. In the summer of 2006, I stayed in Santa Monica and went to SFMM, KBF, and sightseeing without any problems. -

Awesome pictures! I really like the design of those trains. I also like how they are sort of a floorless hybrid. -

I used to be, but am not anymore. I've been to a couple Raws, a few non-televised events (including a WCW event at the Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh), and a PPV (Unforgiven in like 2001). All WWF/WWE events were at the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh.
