  1. I'm surprised I never posted these in this thread.
  2. Not saying I agree with you about El Toro, but I also hate that. When something is hyped up to be the best thing that ever existed, so you have your expectations set very high and come out disappointed.
  3. Yeah, that crossed my mind, but it might be easier said than done. Keep in mind that this coaster was built in 2000, before all the extreme ejector air prefabs, terra-coasters (Maverick-style), mega-lites, etc. Now I'm not saying ejector air didn't exist, just that maybe it wasn't perfected by Intamin like it is today. Going 93 MPH already comes with it's own headaches of maintenance, and maybe things like the design of the train weren't up to today's standards and couldn't handle such extreme ejector airtime. Adding more ejector air would have put more stress on the trains, and perhaps doubled that maintenance demand. I'm not saying this is the sole reason MF only has floater air, it could be (it's only a theory, maybe I'm completely wrong) only one of many, including the fact that the point of MF is height and speed. Floater air gives riders more time to look around and realize how fast they are going and how high they are, instead of going up and down in a quarter of a second.
  4. People say this, and while they have their opinion and I respect that, you have to put one thing into perspective. As it is, Millennium Force was $25 million and took up a huge amount of space. any longer or more elements and we're talking about a $30-$40 million coaster that probably takes up a decent chunk of land. I'm sure the ideas for MF were endless, but a line had to be drawn somewhere. Yes it could have been way better, but can't that be said about almost any coaster? That's like saying that Dragster or Kingda Ka could have been improved by adding another 5000 feet of track, giving it a unique layout, which we all know could never happen with a coaster already so large and expensive (at least not yet). My overrated coaster is Big Dipper at Geauga Lake. Man that coaster sucks. I gave it like 5-10 overall chances to give me a decent ride. Yes, it had decent airtime, but it also killed my neck every time and left me sore the day after. The decent airtime was not enough to justify that.
  5. This one you have to use your imagination to make a mental "picture" because I don't have an actual picture. This happened on the Mind Eraser/Head Spin at Geauga Lake, which is now the Carolina Cobra at Carowinds. When I was at Geauga Lake 5 or so years back, someone won a giant stuffed dog that was literally as big as a person. They had nowhere to put it in the station, and the park was empty with no lines, so the ops let it ride in the train next to the girl. Since it was as big as a person, there were no problems strapping it in. It was one of those "you had to be there" moments, but imagine floppy ears flapping around through the cobra roll and loop, twice, and just overall a giant dog riding a roller coaster, lol. The people I was with and I got a kick out of it.
  6. I have a remote-controlled airplane, but haven't flown it in years. I've only used it a couple times. The reason being that I crashed it pretty badly into a baseball backstop fence the last time I've used it and I want to find a bigger area to fly it in. I have yet to do so and, frankly, don't have the time I used to. I've always been interested in model cars and RC cars. I have about 30 die cast 1:18 model cars or so, and had a bunch of RC cars when I was little. I've always wanted to buy an expensive RC car, but never really had the time, money, or dedication to do so. College, car, etc. expenses are rough on my wallet, and I have too much work. Perhaps some day.
  7. Glad to hear you're ok! My dad went through a similar experience in the summer of 2007 and ended up getting bypass surgery. I can relate to what you and your loved ones are going through. The point of saying that is he has kept to his diet and exercise and now feels like he's 20 again! He's doing better than I've ever seen him. Good luck with your dieting and exercise!
  8. Yeah, I was referring to the "big attraction" that every Six Flags is supposed to receive for their 50th anniversary in 2011. I'd bet on the 2010 coaster being a Tony Hawk or Dark Knight.
  9. I bet your friends do that on purpose just to irritate you, knowing you will deny it's even possible and argue every time.
  10. Perhaps a record breaking water ride like Pilgrim's Plunge?
  11. ^ Assuming no coaster is added to Cedar Point in 2010, they would then be tied at 17.
  12. I'd go with Nitro. Such an awesome coaster that I could ride over and over all day long.
  13. ^ I agree. It will be 9 months for me when i ride one in May, but I love that feeling of your first coaster of the season after a long absence.
  14. I have to agree. I'll take Medusa over Scream any day. There's just something about it that made it better. Maybe the fact that it's the first floorless coaster, or so buttery smooth after 10 years, I don't know, but I liked it better. I was able to get all the credits I wanted, plus many, many re-rides at GAdv in early June last year when school trip kids took over the park. You should have no problem at all in April. I, too say ride Batman, whether you have a credit of a clone or not, it's still a fun ride and worth many re-rides, in my opinion.
  15. Awesome pictures and great PTR!!! Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Great White is more intense because it is slightly smaller than your standard Batman: The Ride clone, so it could fit. After checking RCDB, the length of Great White is about 150 feet shorter than other clones.
  16. USA (Reside) Canada Belize Bahamas St. Thomas St. Maarten
  17. It completely depends on what your view of prototype is. A prototype is generally a coaster that has been built for the first time. WT is the first Intamin impule to have two twsted spikes, MF is the first full-circuit coaster to reach 300+ feet, and TTD is Intamin's first full-circuit coaster to reach 400+ feet. You could also call it an upgrade on an existing design, but it completely depends on your opinion on what prototype coasters are. Like I said back on page 73, Millennium Force's lift hill is a "prototype." I believe it was the first elevator lift system, which also caused MF numerous problems its first couple years.
  18. Could it be that they'll actually make a decent controller for the wii that works? sorry but the wii remote & nunchuck controller just DOESN'T cut it for most of the games on that system, although the wii wheel is nice for most racers like MK for instance. Buy the classic controller then. In my opinion, it's a great and innovative controller that works very well. If you want to play it like every other console, then go buy/play an Xbox 360 or PS3.
  19. ^ Yeah, that's probably what he meant, lol. I don't know, I just don't see Cedar Point getting a B&M unless it's a dive machine, and this isn't dive machine track. That new prototype is a possibility, but I just don't see it going to Cedar Point unless it's something groundbreakingly awesome and unique that will thrill for many years, but who knows, it might be.
  20. Yeah, that screeching seemed fairly loud in the video, I know that would get annoying after a few cycles, lol.
  21. I'm not saying your wrong because I have never heard it in person, but Colossus doesn't sound all that loud from that video, no louder than, say, Millennium Force, which is fairly loud when standing directly under it, yes, but only in that spot. Now coasters like Mantis (video), S:TE, Son of Beast's lift hill, and arguably TTD are fairly loud coasters.
  22. If you're implying that the marking were for Maverick, they appeared last year, Maverick was built in 2007 in Frontiertown. The employee parking lot and Disaster Transport are on the complete opposite side of the park.
  23. I miss Bigfoot in Monster Jam. He was my favorite as a kid. I need to go and see him some day. My dad and I go to the Monster Jam at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh every year. It's our tradition, we've gone every year since I was 5, that's 14 years in a row.
  24. 1. Technically it only has one "loop." Multiple inversions, yes, but only one loop. 3. Yeah, heaven forbid the general public don't memorize every stat for every coaster ever built. Number 3 is exactly what TheBannedKid was talking about.
