  1. Perhaps Six Flags New Orleans is in the process of "coming back," but not under the Six Flags name. Who knows.
  2. Filled up my tank with gas for about $24.
  3. One more class then Thanksgiving break!
  4. I disagree, enthusiasts don't like Cedar Fair, not the GP. I have to agree with you Top Thrill. I go to a college about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh, and if someone even slightly mentions or hints at the subject of amusement parks, roller coasters, etc., people freak out saying how great Cedar Point is and that everyone HAS to go there.
  5. Two weeks until Thanksgiving! Man I need a break.
  6. The only musicals I have been to are The Lion King (saw in two different cities, Pittsburgh and Toronto), and A Christmas Carol (have seen many times)...and I thoroughly enjoyed both.
  7. Let's go Pens! Big win against the Red Wings the other night, and a big game against the Philadelphia cryers tonight!
  8. Pennsylvania Ohio West Virginia Maryland* Virginia New Jersey New York Georgia* Florida Illinois* Nevada California Idaho Washington Texas* North Carolina Kentucky Michigan *Denotes states that I have had a layover in and/or driven through, but never actually did anything.
  9. Midnight Club: Los Angeles for Playstation 3. $60. The accuracy of LA, Santa Monica especially, is amazing.
  10. Being an Exercise Science major, I think that's great that you are trying to have fun while getting healthy and losing weight. Great job so far and keep it up!
  11. Compared to my previous few summers (where I went to SFMM, KBF, SFGadv, Dorney Park, Wildwood, Silverwood, and more) summer 2009 will be very toned down. It will still be a fun summer, but no huge trips like my Vegas/LA trip in 06 and my Jersey trip this summer. My highlights will be Kings Island (Diamondback), Cedar Point (hopefully a new log flume-type ride), Kennywood (Phantom's Revenge receiving work), and Darien Lake (a new park for me).
  12. ^ That probably wouldn't work. It's a lot easier said than done. Coasters, especially Batman: The Ride clones, have dimensions (loops, turns, zero-G rolls, corkscrews, brake runs, etc.) specifically designed for the speed and height they are currently set at. You can't just lengthen a lift hill and leave everything else as is. The entire coaster would have to be reworked and modified, which would be the same as just building a new coaster and scrapping the old. Also, from what I remember from my trip to GAdv back in June, there really isn't any room for Batman to be expanded. The whole point of those coasters (B:TR clones) is, at least what I think, to save space, yet have a solid coaster that still packs a punch, despite it's small size and footprint. Expanding on that, adding a new lift hill and layout before the old would defeat that purpose, in my opinion. I don't think Kingda Ka will ever be expanded on either, it would be too expensive and not worth the effort, especially in today's economy. I see what you are saying, and it would be really cool if they did this, but the skyrocketing price of steel, and today's economy is causing Six Flags to think of alternatives to building new coasters year after year.
  13. We can't answer this now because we don't know exactly what they are doing, but the ultimate question is if this will count as a new credit or not.
  14. Either that or the Swing Around. I am leaning towards Bayern Kurve though. Could the Phantom modifications explain these markings, or do they mean something else? Pictures taken from Kennyweird's Kennywood Photo TR.
  15. If that's true and it isn't being relocated anywhere, then that sucks. Speed is, by far my favorite coaster in Vegas. It is so fun and such an underrated coaster.
  16. -Superman: The Escape -Son of Beast's lift hill. -Firehawk's lift hill. -Aftershock's horn right before it dispatches. It's louder than Scream's. -Any Premier launched coaster (Speed: The Ride, Flight of Fear (especially it's launch inside), etc.) -Mantis is probably the loudest B&M I have heard. -Does Skull Mountain count? When I was there in the station, a bunch of kids were screaming, I had to hold my ears it was so annoying.
  17. That's not all that bad if you think about it, though. At a lot of sporting events, you have to pay $20+ for only about 4 hours. Not to mention playoffs. I once paid $40 to park (2005 NFL playoff game, Steelers vs. Bengals), and that was one of the cheaper lots.
  18. From what I heard when I was out there, the platform is going to be eventually put up, they just wanted to get it built as soon as possible so people could ride.
  19. Mine is a tie between the Beast and Tremors. Tremors is cool because the "tunnel" goes right through the gift shop.
  20. Out of the ones I have been on, Silverwood's, hands down.
  21. I haven never ridden Mantis sitting down and have had some pretty bad rides on it.
  22. Most epic game ever. "He missed it!" lol I also agree that real teams play outside. There's no feeling (literally, get it?) like freezing your ass off in 12 degree weather at a playoff game. That is football weather.
  23. I see, well that's why I asked, because I was unsure, thanks for clearing that up. So how about that season pass?!
  24. Not necessarily. Wouldn't it be more difficult and probably not worth it to pay back that loan using only revenue, whereas now they can use Parque's assets to do so?
  25. Cosmic Chaos (Disk-O) at Kennywood is the worst I've ever felt.
