  1. Zip Lining is so awesome. I just got back from Belize, where I Zip Lined. Such a fun thing to do!
  2. I hope you know that you don't need a kid to go on that coaster. On topic, I have never done that, I couldn't care less about the kiddie credits.
  3. Yeah, people aren't going to drive all the way down to Myrtle when they can just go to VA Beach, or a similar place farther north, closer to home, and, as you said, mostly everyone south of Myrtle has their own beach locally.
  4. I believe it's Diving Machine track. KI's track is much darker with a smaller spine. I remember seeing an aerial picture a week or so ago showing that the DM track is still sitting at the factory, there's just more of it now. I can't remember where I saw it, though. We also established a few months back that it was Diving Machine track because of the label, which had "DM" on it. My guess is that it's for SFGAm or SFGAdv. Even if it isn't going in until 2010, Diving Machine's are fairly massive coasters, so track appearing this early doesn't surprise me. EDIT: Found the album. Credit goes to Kings Island Central. http://www.kicentral.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=249 In that picture, you can see how much lighter the color is, and how much larger the DM track is compared to Kings Island's hyper track sitting right next to it. There are also supports that are of a different color than KI's, indicating that this is for a completely different coaster.
  5. Vekoma GIBs are my favorite. Both Deja Vu at SFMM and Aftershock at Silverwood were awesome!
  6. Yeah, Cedar Point wasn't always like that, though. I remember the days when it cost $60 to get in.
  7. Could this mean another big, multi-million dollar upgrade is on the horizon?
  8. How can you not tell Maverick is beyond vertical? The track literally disappears in front of you for a split second it's so steep. You can definitely tell on Maverick, I have never ridden a Euro-Fighter, so I couldn't say for SB.
  9. Nope, they stopped running it, along with the Monorail, after the original water park area was left to rot. You could see the green water, rotting building etc. from both rides. So rather than clean up the original water park, Cedar Fair decided to just not let anyone see the areas. No, the Sky Tower's gearbox broke, and they never bothered to fix it, it probably wasn't worth the money and effort. It even said in the auction flyer that it was the gearbox. That could be part of the reason why the monorail was shut down, but another reason was because it was of an older variety where maintenance was becoming too expensive and parts were getting harder and harder to come by.
  10. Maverick's was fun, but nothing overly amazing, in my opinion. I was a little underwhelmed by it.
  11. Exterminator at Kennywood a couple hours ago. Such a fun and well-themed coaster.
  12. They could have just gotten off the Exterminator where the seatbelts are only supposed to be buckled when a child is riding. True, but the Jackrabbit dosn't have lap bars like the Exterminator. I'll bet any money that those girls probably didn't put that into perspective. It probably didn't even cross their minds. To them, I bet, Jack Rabbit's lap bar is the same as Phantom's, and a bar is a bar.

  14. Sorry for the double post, this is going really slow.
  15. Is this it? http://video.aol.com/video-detail/intervista-a-great-coasters-international/1623342805
  16. Forellenhof means "trout court" in Dutch, and on one translation site I got "trout yard" from German to English. I tried a bunch of searches using that with no luck, maybe someone else can get it.
  17. This is what I use, but you can only do one at a time. http://www.shrinkpictures.com/
  18. I'm stumped. Almost every Google search I do, the first result is this thread.
  19. Uh oh, Snoopy is missing! What could they possibly be getting at by doing this? Link. Where's Snoopy?
  20. Yeah, maintenance is another good reason for it being there. It was neat actually seeing guys from Vekoma work on the ride before it opened to the public, hearing them speak a foreign language and all while fixing it. This is also another neat fact about Silverwood that I thought I'd share. The whole park was built around the engine of their train. Anyone who has been there knows that the train ride isn't your normal, run of the mill amusement park train ride. It's a young park that only opened in 1988, I believe. What started the park, from what I was told, was the purchasing of that engine. In the late 1980s, the owner of Silverwood outbid Disney, yes Disney, for that engine, and built the park around it. I believe the engine is from the early 1900s. It now runs on cooking oil. Just an interesting tidbit for those who didn't know already.
  21. Aftershock at Silverwood on July 21, 2008. Link to my Photo TR. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45120
  22. I'm not sure if it was from lack of staffing early in the year, but this May when I was there the only ride using a grouper was Maverick. MF was doing "line up and wait wherever you want, with as many people can fit in the station". Yeah, that's why I said "on most occasions." I, too, have been there when the station was packed, with at least like 5 train waits for every seat.
  23. On most occasions, MF will look like that whether it has a 4 hour line, or a 15 minute line because the worker sitting there only lets as many people into the station that will fit into the train.
  24. I believe that they are eventually going to build it, probably this coming off-season, or when Great America ships it. From what I heard, they also plan on adding the video cameras eventually. Right now they just wanted to get it up and running so people could ride it. The valley platform between the loop and second tower is there.
