  1. Only one, a TTD shirt that I bought 4 or 5 years ago.
  2. ^ I know that on their website it says that TTD doesn't fit guests that have a waist bigger than 40". You're best bet is to just try the test seat at the entrance.
  3. Dominator's loop is the biggest, diameter-wise, but Superman's loop beats out Dominator's, height-wise, by 3 feet (Dominator: 135 ft., Superman: 138 ft.).
  4. Did you know that Kennywood's Thunderbolt used to be called the Pippin, but was modified in 1967 (like how the Phantom was modified), and became the Thunderbolt? One year off it was 1968 when the Pipin became the Thunderbolt. But a lot of people "overlook" the year 1968 as if that year didn't exist. No, it was modified in 1967, it opened in March, 1968 as the Thunderbolt. I was correct.
  5. Great video Robb! I have to get out there again to ride my favorite steel! I love the Will Smith Men in Black reference, "Old and busted, new hotness!"
  6. More news on Maverick: Yesterday it valleyed during morning testing. It was after the first roll and before the second. They pulled the train through the rest of the course and had it back open yesterday, but that train sat on transfer all day.
  7. Doesn't it really come down to the park, their employees, and their employees' judgments on whether someone is too big or too small to ride, not the actual lap bar? Wasn't the guy that fell out of S:ROS too big and shouldn't have been riding to begin with? Look at Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster, they both have lap bars. This is MF's 8th year in operation, and TTD's 5th, yet there have never been any accidents (regarding the lap bars) on either coaster, to my knowledge.
  8. Yeah, I guess it will ultimately depend on how fast this goes up. A coaster this big can't be kept under wraps too long if people see a lift hill and such, lol.
  9. Did you know that there have been 30 at Cedar Point. Did you know that Kennywood's Thunderbolt used to be called the Pippin, but was modified in 1967 (like how the Phantom was modified), and became the Thunderbolt?
  10. ^ I'd say not until late in the season or after the season is over.
  11. What do you mean "saying check"? Could you elaborate? I understand the airgate thing, even Disney has them nowadays whereas they didn't before. I still dont quite get the seatbelts on Corkscrew. They have them on Iron Dragon as well dont they? Whenever workers check your restraints they say out loud, "check." They had never done this in previous years, that I am aware of.
  12. ^ Unless they moved the laser show, they wouldn't be able to build out into the midway there. There is plenty of space in and around Dodgem's area, though, behind the laser screen, over by MF and it's queue and entrance, and also over by the cars behind Raptor. They could build it in various directions.
  13. ^ How are your knees not jammed into the padding in front of you? My knees were killing me the last time I rode. Cedar Creek Mine Ride is just as bad.
  14. I hope they get rid of it. The cars are too small. I'm only 6'1" and my legs are cramped in there. It's been at least 3 or 4 years since I've ridden it, and I have no desire to do so ever again. I've been saying for years that they should scrap Wildcat and get a modern wild mouse similar to Tony Hawk, Dark Knight, etc.
  15. Nice to know you guys had fun! I can't wait to ride it this summer sometime!
  16. Yep, that happened to Raptor at Cedar Point a few years back because of high winds.
  17. Some I have experienced: -In past years at Cedar Point they have always made you go around again for a re-ride instead of just staying there, at least from what I have experienced. During my visit last week on Millennium Force during ERT, they had the handicapped entrance open for you to go right back into the station, instead of having to walk all the way around. -This one also occurred last week during my Cedar Point visit. Top Thrill Dragster had been closed all day long due to mechanical reasons. There were a few test runs before 10:00 am, but that's it. A half hour before the park closed, they opened it and left the entrance opened a half hour after the park closed. I got two quick rides on it and was very happy. I never though I'd still be walking around Cedar Point at 8:30 when park closing was at 7:00. -Tuesday, May 13th, Magnum had three trains running all day, but it was a walk-on the whole day. -Last one for my Cedar Point visit last week, I promise. All of the ride-ops were more enthusiastic and friendly than I had ever seen them. They were singing, joking with people (in a fun way, not joking as in not doing their job), and all around getting people excited to ride. This was especially good considering Monday was cloudy, gloomy, and rainy. -Last July on a weekday at Geauga Lake, it was so empty that many times I was the only rider on some coasters, including Dominator. Yet Dominator had three trains running all day long. -Last summer at Hersheypark, the dispatch times on all three GCIs (both Racers and Wildcat) were great. They were flying. That's all I can think of now.
  18. If that is, in fact, true, we should see some sort of construction starting soon. For those who don't know, here is the valley he is talking about. I could see it happening, there seems to be enough room behind Racer and over near Log Jammer. The only concern I have with it would be, how would the added noise affect the picnic shelters near Log Jammer. That would seem to disrupt the peacefulness and tranquility of the area, unless the coaster is fairly small. Valley behind Racer, Jack Rabbit, and the Log Jammer.
  19. Is the carved out Batman symbol still there, or are the seats brand new? I hope it isn't still there. KD has a real quality coaster on their hands. I can't wait to go there and be reunited with one of my favorites!
  20. ^ I was at KBF in the summer of 2006 (the end of June to be exact), and I do remember the Xcelerator crew doing a great job at dispatching!
  21. You just contradicted yourself. Everyone who sticks up for Cedar Point is a fanboy, and everyone who bashes Six Flags is a "Six Flags hater," clearly indicating that you think their opinions don't matter whatsoever because they are extremely biased. Yet in the next sentence you tell people that they should respect other opinions and accept the fact that people have different views than your own. That didn't make sense to me. I don't feel like I contradicted myself at all. I just get annoyed when people are jerks to others about their opinions. I don't respect people that consider their opinion to be fact, so I will discount their opinion. If you like Cedar Point, then great for you. Don't force it on people. Or, if you truly hate Six Flags, just don't go. You don't have to bash it, and then tell people that like the parks that they are morons. It's pretty simple. Oh, well yeah, of course. If someone is sitting there saying they are right an everyone else was wrong, and insulting people for not believing in what they do, then I completely agree. I took it as, fanboys of a park are people who show great favoritism towards it and always defend it (defending it properly, though, with respect to whomever they are debating with and their opinion). At least, that's Robb's definition of a fanboy, anyone who shows slight favoritism towards a park and defends it once.

  23. Magnum definitely needs new lap bars, probably needs a whole train rehab. The lap bars are starting to stick really bad and are getting hard to pull down when you get in, and push up when you get off. Many times during my visit on the 12th and 13th someone would get stuck in the seat because they couldn't push the lap bar up. It's still a fun ride, but it's starting to get rougher than ever.
  24. I have only been to Cedar Point, I am going to GADV for the first time in a few weeks, but from what I hear, GADV has the better coaster selection, but no flat rides. So it really depends on what your preferences are. If you like the more all-around park, Cedar Point, but if you like great quality coasters, GADV.
  25. I miss CLP. The Blue Streak was an awesome coaster, it was scary ina fun way because you thought it was going to fall apart and it looked under-supported! Regarding Witch's Stew, each "vehicle" spun freely with the weight as the whole thing spun. It was a very fun ride! I only rode it once, though. Lastly, to explain why Blue Streak is only painted up to a certain point: they let volunteers do some painting a few years back, but they were only allowed to paint as high as they could reach.
