  1. Probably X2 at SFMM. X is currently my favorite steel coaster, and X2 is probably going to be so much better.
  2. Here is what "PREMiERdrum" got from Richard Munch, word for word. He also said that the document was sent to the Cleveland stations as well, but none of the other Columbus stations, nor Toledo.
  3. Kennywood has finally settled their amusement tax dispute.
  4. I know that regular Boomerangs have a chain on the second spike, instead of a second catchcar. Invertigos probably don't have as much downtime because of the fact that their spikes aren't at a 90 degree angle, I'm guessing. After watching some POVs of Invertigos on Youtube, it's difficult to tell, but I don't see any brakes on the second spike. I did notice, though, that the catchcar is way down, almost near the bottom of, the spike. It could be that as soon as the train hits it, it automatically catches from the force applied, and when that happens, it begins pulling the train up the spike to be released..
  5. Yeah, the original colors were themed to Batman. Those definitely did't fit the name "Dominator," IMO. I really like the new colors.
  6. Enthusiast make up less than 1% of the people who pay to go to amusement parks, that makes no sense from a business point of view. Plus, any new coaster would attract a lot of enthusiasts AND the other 99% of the coaster riding market, so I don't really get why (CP of all places) would rescue an old wood coaster. Enthusiasts meaning Big Dipper and Geauga Lake enthusiasts. Everyone who used to go to Geauga Lake and enjoyed it will come to Cedar Point to do so. They'll then pass it on to relatives, friends, etc. saying that the fun coaster they used to ride at Geauga Lake has been moved to Cedar Point. It might be a way of winning over everyone that used to only go to Geauga Lake all the time, but not Cedar Point.
  7. What about a ride similar to Maverick and Fahrenheit from IntaRide, but with no inversions? I have been thinking about that recently, and if it would work. I know Maverick was $21 million, way too expensive for KW, but that was mainly because of the LSMs, I'm guessing. Fahrenheit was only $12.1 million. With no inversions and nothing fancy, it might actually be possible. It could actually be a really fun coaster if they put lap bars on Maverick-style trains, and utilized the terrain. Wouldn't take up too much space, and would probably be packed full of airtime and quick transitions!
  8. My theory is that they know it's a very popular coaster, and would attract a lot of enthusiasts, and that means money. That or they know they can't destroy it because of the history behind it, so they have to move it somewhere, and maybe Cedar Point is the best place to move it, I don't know.
  9. I think everyone... I see, thanks for clearing everything up! Very interesting read! I always thought a GCI, or a wooden coaster similar to Ravine Flyer II (either GG or any other company that makes similar coasters), would fit Kennywood perfectly. They could use a modern wooden coaster.
  10. There are rumors floating around over at CoasterBuzz that the Big Dipper is going to be relocated to Cedar Point. Here is what the original poster, PREMiERdrum, said: People later in the thread said the press release says it will be announced tomorrow, not today.
  11. ^^ Notice that they are numbered, too, in the bottom right. Example: 1/14, 2/14, 3/14, etc. What happens when they are put in order?
  12. Yeah, I just laughed every time I turned around and saw that circular chunk taken out of the seat. As of last year (July 9th to be exact), they were still like that. The restraints are also a different color so I also wonder if those are new or just repainted.
  13. ^ Here's a picture from "The Big Mike Road Show 2008" thread. He said that he was there on 4/19/2008. What I am curious about, though is what the seats on the trains will look like. Will the carved out Batman symbol still be there, if not, did they just fill the holes in or get brand new seats?
  14. Here's a video I found a few weeks ago. Is this where it valleyed? Looks like, in this video, it didn't catch on the second tower.
  15. Looking great! Those trains looks exactly like Maverick's.
  16. Hopefully this won't be the only tradition and/or "rule" changed (*cough* no inversion rule *cough*). Maybe Kennywood has been considering building a coaster with inversions, I'd rather prefer that than a B&M Hyper.
  17. ^ Yeah, I agree. I always go early in the season when the park is fairly empty, and I haven't raced in a few years either. They used to always race no matter what. I even remember times where there weren't even enough people in the station to fill both trains, yet they still raced. Times have changed.
  18. Why did they decide to move the heart? While it makes more sense to put it at the actual exit, but I liked it better where it used to be because of the historical aspect of that whole "Lost Kennywood" entrance/exit.
  19. Wow, MF really needs a new paint job. I knew it was getting to that point, but man that's worse than I thought. It has been 8 years already since MF opened, though. Awesome pictures (can't stress that enough)! This is one of the best PTRs I have ever seen, and just in time, too, to get me psyched for going back to CP, as I'll be there in 3 weeks! Thanks!
  20. I have never been to SFOG. (so please, no one be immature and flame me because I am making a general statement from my experience going to various parks owned by various companies) but every park I have been to where I have worn cargo shorts with Velcro pockets, I have had zero problems whatsoever. Some of those parks include SFMM, CP, Kennywood, Kings Island, KBF, and GL. It's a universally accepted way of securing your loose articles (at least from my experiences). Hope that helped, and have fun at SFOG! I really want to go there sometime!
  21. ^^ What if they put some sort of funnel on that side of the train to direct the flow of water like the ones on Dive Machines?
  22. It has been confirmed that the track is indeed Dive Machine track. Here is the label. Credit, once again, goes to Sheikra_rocks. Notice the "DM" after "Part No." "DM" = Dive Machine. That same "DM" was on Chimelong Paradise's Dive Machine track label. Too bad, though, the customer is all numbers, unlike Chimelong Paradise's label.
  23. Hmm, if those renderings are right and legitimate, it looks like the red track won't be for "Manta" after all. If the coaster really does skim the water like that, that would be a really cool and unique feature!
  24. ^ Yes, that news is about 5 months old and has it's own thread.
  25. I think we can all agree that this track is definitely reinforced more and stronger and bigger than normal-gauge B&M track. If this is, in fact, for Sea World and it is a flyer, perhaps we won't necessarily see a "Dive Machine Flyer," but instead a flyer with maybe 6-8 seats across. That would be cool.
