Yeah, I was at Cedar Point on Wednesday, 6/25 and Magnum was broken down all day with that train sitting at the bottom of the lift. I don't know what they were doing, but they were hosing off something in the station pretty much every time I walked by. Great pics by the way! -

[NL] New Summer Project
FeelTheFORCE replied to FeelTheFORCE's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Sorry for the lack of updates, but I went to New Jersey, then Cincinnati, then Cedar Point, so I've been pretty busy this month. I have tweaked the track work in some areas a little and I have started supporting. I'll try to post more pictures on Monday. -

This is just a guess, but with most coasters the computer decides on when to use the brakes based on the conditions. Gemini might be too old to have that system, or it might be a fairly new system installed fairly recently, I am not sure, but usually the conditions, such as the temperature, humidity, etc., decide on whether the trims should be used or not. Same goes for Mantis, I've been on it when the trim was off, I've been on it when it just lightly "taps" the train, and I've also been on it when it's on very hard, it all depends on the conditions at that time. -

I don't have a camera, so I am only limited to taking pictures with my phone, but I still like these two, even though the quality isn't that great. -

Historic coaster pieces to be sold
FeelTheFORCE replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
By looking at the date of publication, May 30, 2006, it sounds like the selling of these parts and plaques happened over a year ago. -

My 100th was Hydra at Dorney park ridden on June 10, 2008. -
Which is why it blows me away that SFMM (probably one of the better parks to benefit from this Q-Bot system) is not using this system yet. Get with it Magic Mountain! Flashpasses are old school! But with SFMM's system, people can give you their extra passes if they are leaving, and you can also find some on the ground! That can't happen with a Q-Bot. I only say that because that's exactly what happened to me two summers ago, lol. I got free flashpass rides on Tatsu from a lady that was leaving, and I also found some on the ground in X's queue. I think I still have some left over that I kept. I'm only joking, the Q-Bot seems to be a much better system, and glad to see parks switching over.

How many times the same ride in a day ?
FeelTheFORCE replied to mingsai's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The most I ever did was 7, but I got those 7 rides in, in less than 45 minutes. It was July 9, 2007 on Dominator at Geauga Lake. -
Six Flags Great Adventure
FeelTheFORCE replied to dragsterfan420's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I went the second week of June and it was pretty packed with kinds on school trips and whatnot. I'd say try going in the middle of the week. I went on a Friday, Monday, and Wednesday, and they were all somewhat crowded. The thing is, though, the waterpark was closed, so I'm sure that when you go school trips will be about over and the waterpark will be open, so the park crowds won't be as dense. If you plan on going multiple days, I suggest buying a season pass. It pays for itself in a couple visits, and you get a "Bring a Friend Free" coupon. As for rides, definitely ride: Nitro El Toro Kingda Ka Batman: The Ride Medusa Superman: Ultimate Flight Great American Scream Machine Dark Knight Skull Mountain in the back seat. I really enjoyed their Log Flume, it was long and fun. The Skyway really comes in handy also when you want to get from one end of the park to the other. -
El toro restraints
FeelTheFORCE replied to vacoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When they push the restraint down as hard as they can, making sure that there is absolutely no room whatsoever between you and the restraint. In most cases, especially with the hydraulic restraints, it's tough to even breathe, at least for me. -
Son of Beast or Beast
FeelTheFORCE replied to dragsterfan420's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
On Tuesday, I had the worst ride on Beast I have ever had. Son of Beast, however, is running great! -

Your favorite coaster tunnel
FeelTheFORCE replied to chavslayer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Out of the coasters I have been on, the Beast at Kings Island is definitely my favorite. -
I was at Kings Island yesterday and the waterpark on Monday, utilizing their awesome "two days for one price" deal. The Cicadas are pretty bad at both the park and waterpark. I didn't let them ruin my day, though. It wasn't that crowded, for the most part. Everything but the Red Racer ran great all day long, from what I could tell. The Red Racer cycled empty trains all day. I did briefly see people in a few trains, but once when I looked over, it was stuck on the lift with people in it. It eventually went again, but after that I never saw people in a red train for the rest of the day, just empty trains constantly cycled. Son of Beast ran great, it was fairly smooth. Beast was really rough and I had the worst ride I have ever had on it. I wanted to get a night ride on it, but my cousin had to get up at 5:00 am this morning for work, so we left at around 8:00 pm. Lastly, the construction looks great! You can get a good view of them clearing out land from the train, and I was surprised at how close the splashdown is to the bridge! Fun day with perfect weather, only in the low 70s all day.
