  1. According to Screamscape: "It may be a bit far away, but we’ve heard an early rumor claiming that Dueling Dragons will close entirely for it’s final transformation to become part of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter sometime between September and December 2009."
  2. ^ The past 2 years or so, it was starting to get crowded with those kids the whole week anyway, that's my guess as to one of the reasons why they made it the entire week.
  3. This is the most accurate statement in this thread. In the early summer fo 2007, I did a mini-Midwest trip as a graduation present. We did HW, PKI, GL, CP and MiA. All of the parks were completely empty (even HW on a Saturday and PKI on a Sunday) except for CP. We were there during the week (Tuesday and Wednesday), and it was completely packed. In one day (9am-10pm, we stayed on park), I only got 14 rides in (including flats). MF was 1.5 to 2 hours, Maverick was 2 hours, TTD was 1.5 hours, and Raptor had it's entire queue full and was spilling out onto the midway (which is over 1.5 hours I'm sure). This was the last week of May/first week of June, and not during any special events. It was just ridiculous, and pretty much put me off from visiting CP anytime in the near future. Don't get me wrong, I like the park (I've been 4 times), but the lines are insane when you compare it to other places. Depends on when you go. The crowds start to show in late May/early June, but in early May (after science week) you literally have the park to yourself and EVERYTHING is a walk-on...especially on a cold and cloudy day.
  4. Flyers are fun and unique and all, but I personally think they are more uncomfortable than they are enjoyable and am glad they are dying out.
  5. I'm also hoping that line won't be really long (or if it is, it moves quickly) when I go in late July (bad time, I know, but that's when my cousin's wedding is, so it's mu only option). If they are anything like the Nitro crew when running 3 trains, I have zero worries, man can that crew do work.
  6. Depends on what you've ridden before. I know the first time I rode TTD, I thought it was extremely intense, but now that I have ridden it several times, and have ridden rides like it, it's not that intense, and I didn't find KK to be all that intense. The only other launchers I've ridden are Storm Runner, Jokers Jinx, VooDoo/Possessed or whatever it is now, and Steel Venom from GL. I think KK is probably a pretty big step up from those right? Storm Runner's is similar. It doesn't las as long, nor do you go as fast (obviously), but it gives you a feel of what KK is like.
  7. This is probably a stupid question, but what does the HP construction mean for Dueling Dragons in the aspect of being open? For example, I am planning to go in May, will I be able to ride the Dragons?
  8. Depends on what you've ridden before. I know the first time I rode TTD, I thought it was extremely intense, but now that I have ridden it several times, and have ridden rides like it, it's not that intense, and I didn't find KK to be all that intense.
  9. I see. You could be right. They could be taking advantage of this opportunity and creating a new, revamped show, who knows.
  10. As far as the SFMM 2010 coaster goes, and in response to the posts in the SFMM updates thread about it being compact and launched. Perhaps a Fahrenheit-esque (in terms of the compact layout and the elements) or a Maverick-esque coaster? I wouldn't mind seeing more of those kind built, they are fun coasters!
  11. Yep, and it's working on me. I've already started planning a whole vacation there because of this free ticket. A vacation that I would have never even thought of or considered otherwise.
  12. ^ It says in the winning email that only one per household can win. Perhaps that's why? Not sure. I, too filled mine out long after the game was over.
  13. I won too. I think I know where I'm going for my spring break! EDIT: Scratch that, if I go during my Spring break (the first week in March), I won't get to ride Rip, Ride, Rocket. Looks like I'll be aiming for the fall. Amen to that! It's been a great day!
  14. This was posted in Cedar Point's blog by Tony: Here's a thought, it was made in Microsoft PowerPoint, so could it possibly be a PowerPoint presentation for Coastermania, or another event, announcing their next big coaster/ride? New rides are usually announced after the season, so this is probably unlikely, but who knows?
  15. I don't need this, all that needed to be discussed about the game has been discussed. I'm done posting in this thread.
  16. It's just football, I laugh at anyone who whines and complains over it. It's sad really. I'd congratulate the Cards for doing such a great job. If they could have beaten the Steelers, they would have definitely deserved it. I would have then worn my Larry Fitzgerald jersey with great pride. Nice try.
  17. It's Super Bowl XL all over again with the Seattle crybabies. Honestly, if the Cardinals knew, 100% for a fact that they were getting "screwed over" with penalties, wouldn't that motivate them even more to stop the Steelers on the final drive? Hell, I know if it were me, I would be fired up as hell to stop them, PROVING that those calls didn't mean jack sh**. But they failed to do so.
  18. Are you kidding me? Boldin is right up there with Fitz, and is a very physical and tough receiver, and Breaston had a 1,000 year, along with Boldin and Fitz. They have 3 monsters at WR.
  19. Video of Harrison's penalty. Fast forward to 2:25.
  20. What Harrison did was completely uncalled for. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a fine.
  21. Six Pack baby! Woooooooo!!!! Great game by the Cards, fought one hell of a battle.
  22. My Penguins are still a point out of the playoffs with that tough OT loss to NJ tonight after being up 3-1 in the 3rd. I hope they can rebound and save their season before it gets too late, especially when Gonchar comes back in March. If the Pens miss the playoffs or get eliminated early, I'll be cheering for my favorite team as a kid, and now 2nd favorite team, the Sharks.
  23. Listening to announcers? Please, the majority of the announcers on various networks don't know what the hell they are talking about half the time. Now granted, some of them are good. I consider myself a fan of the NFL, not of the Steelers. I'll watch the Browns and Bengals just because it's football. Scott has his opinion and I have mine, neither one of us have ever played NFL football (I would assume so), so we have no idea. I've followed football and the NFL my entire life. I know how the game works, and I consider my knowledge of the game in recent years a hell of a lot better than most people's. I don't need to prove to you or anyone else on how knowledgeable I am of the game. This is discussion is becoming personal in the aspect of, "I know more about football than you do...ha ha." It's pointless to continue this senseless bickering, any replies not related to the actual game I will not reply to.
