pvcoasterguy Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 While this could go into the Random forum, I thought that it was relevant enough to go into the Theme Park forum. Anyway, I found this while browsing YouTube. It was created after Jaws was shut down for it's "off-season" in which many thought that Jaws would close... forever. But, it didn't. The video has edited (parody) versions of songs from the following musicals: Chicago Annie Rent Grease And a few others. It's a great laugh, and quite professional! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pUWj3w9Pm4&search=jaws%20musical
Corkscrewed Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 LMAO! That IS pretty good! Great find! (I suppose that's as artist friendly as you can get without porcelain deer)
COOOOLkid Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 The video has edited (parody) versions of songs from the following musicals: Chicago Annie Rent Grease You forgot Evita!
Fatality Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 That's really funny. I really liked how they did that song from "Rent"
arrowfanman Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Wow...I cant decide if that was cleverly crafted of freakin stupid! Either way, I think I enjoyed watching it! -Jahan
rollermonkey Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Was that made with USF's blessing? That was rediculously well put together. If that was an amateur piece, it has to be one of if not the best ever fanfilm about an amusement park ride. Or, a slick piece of marketing! Either way, I thought it was hysterical.
steel Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Oh crap, that was funny. I loved the Chicago-style finale.
Bush985 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I can't believe those employees took the time to do that. Very well done. -RD
kingdanny Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 That was an excellent video. The crew must reall care about the ride. I would never go back to Universal if Jaws was removed.
PhishyBrewer Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 That was AWESOME!!! Only if more parks had employees like that.
pvcoasterguy Posted May 31, 2006 Author Posted May 31, 2006 Looks like user who submitted it changed it to private mode! I'm really sorry...
Electerik Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Every year, the Attractions departments at USF and IOA have awards shows/video contests, and each ride (usually) submits a video. Many of them are quite good, since there are lots of creative types at the parks (not to mention some nice equipment). I am a bit surprised that one ended up online, though. I doubt UO would be too excited about that, since many of them reflect internal struggles and contain seriously-inside jokes. Erik "My ride's video won IOA's for 2004" Elness
jarmor Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 OMG that was awesome! The spoofs on the songs and the satire was just perfect! I now see why universal is my fav park chain!
obeygiant Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 That video was awesome, it's funny because those are probably things they hate about their job (tourists, short breaks...) I wonder why it was taken offline for a while...It's back now and I hope more videos like it will come online...
Wes Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 That was really sweet. It almost makes me want to go on Jaws again. Almost.
socalMAN123 Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Haha, that was pretty funny! Maybe I'll just have to drop by this ride when I visit in August. ---Brent
pvcoasterguy Posted June 4, 2006 Author Posted June 4, 2006 Looks like the movie is back online! This is probably the funniest theme park-specific film ever. (You and Your Studio wasn't aimed directly at the parks... it was the entire UCS company.)
