There are a lot of locals excited about Cannibal, we just don't post on here much. Lagoon hasn't really done much promoting for it though. At least not yet.

As for the construction, they've been doing a lot of work in the tower and along the ground. A few supports and pieces of track have just started going up the last week or two. It looks like that might pick up quite a bit soon, as I heard there's now a smaller crane on site.

Thanks! I wish I could go there next year to try out this new coaster, but my plate is already full with Carowinds, Holiday World, Kentucky Kingdom, and Legoland FL. I'm really excited about the theme of this coaster. I know it's going to look AMAZING!

It's hard to stay excited about something when there's no updates. There are too many other projects with webcams and continuous updates that are fun to watch.

I'm super excited to see how this will turn out, but in the mean time, unless someone can get some photos, what is there to discuss?

It's hard to remember such a giant project is coming next year as well. Other parks are doing so well on updates, Lagoon just seems too mysterious on everything. Hopefully it will be really amazing because every unannounced detail will rock the world.

Hopefully we'll see a few updates during the snowy off season...especially since Spooky Mormon Hell is about to freeze over as I actually finally have plans to visit this park in 2015!!!!

I said it much earlier in this thread and I'll say it again:

Cannibal is one of the coasters I'm most curious about for the 2015 season. If the initial reviews are everything I hope they'll be I have already decided to shift my plans and forego a much larger first-time park in order to visit Lagoon next summer.

For those who are wanting some kind of update, I'm planning on heading out there next week to get some photos from Lagoon Dr.

That would be great! A coaster like this with the steepest drop in North America should get some love and attention. But I'm thinking they're waiting for the right time to bring everything to light. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Now that's something to get excited about. That't the kind of picture that gets you to start adjusting your vacation schedule to include Utah. The park should be marketing the crap out of this.

God I hope this thing is smooth.

^ If this thing is smooth, it will be amazing! I heard there's no OTSRs, right? I'm still in disbelief that Lagoon is even getting a coaster like this! I will be sure to go check it out. Does anyone know of this is planned to open on opening day for the park in late March?

There are all the ingredients to have a smooth ride. The designers are not new to the industry, and the ride is build near the construction site: that means the track pieces can be longer than usual as there's no need for them to fit in a shipping container. And longer pieces mean less track bonds mean a smoother ride!

116 degrees is what RCDB lists how steep this coaster is. I believe this would make it the steepest hyper coaster. That's quite amazing considering that this park isn't that big and they're completley building this in-house. There's no proper renderings on how this coaster looks besides a couple images the park used for a press conference but I can imagine this will be very unique compared to anything else.

If Lagoon wasn't already on the map for enthusiasts, Cannibal will definitely put it on there. I really hope I have time to get out to the park again next year, as this ride looks like it will be really good.

When they had a press day for Cannibal, they said it will open with the park on March 28. I guess we'll see if it actually happens. Can't wait!

Definately not a beatiful thing so far, though I will reserve my final judgement until the ride is complete. However, that is one intimidating looking drop so far. There are not many rollercoasters that are able to raise my pulse before riding, but I would definately be nervous before riding this one.

Lagoon is ready to whoop some ass, it seems. I'll definitely be making the drive up there again this summer!

Eh I'm nervous about the trains. They look very similar to Thunderbolts at Coney Island, and I've heard so many bad things about those.

Because an in-house coaster would totally have Zamperla trains.
