^^ No offense. . . but that's just a 19 second video of a train with no one on it leaving the station.

Is that what you meant to post?

If so, disregard this. I was just under the impression it would show the launch.

*Edited- My bad; just my crappy computer.

That launch does look wicked fast.

^^ I always wanted one of those as a kid. Oh well, some say you're never too old. (I just have to check the weight limit. Clearance envelope should be fine)

Don't forget to purchase the Spaz Helmet- that looks like a 80 degree drop!

[youtu_be]

[/youtu_be] there is a video I found on YouTube of today's testing. Just look how quickly it launches from the bottom. You have only a few seconds to think about what's going on before you go LITERALLY 0-45mph. All I can suggest to everyone is KEEP YOUR HEAD BACK! I can hear people now complaining of neck problems, etc. when they know they're being launched 200ft up a mountain.

EDIT: looks like I posted and didn't refresh my page! Sorry guys haha

You don't go LITERALLY 0-45 on the launch. You're already moving when the launch starts. And from the looks of it, you launch a little, turn upwards while slowing, and then launch some more.

Just showed my partner the video of the launch!

He got excited, and asked me:

"Will Lighting Rod be our first launched wooden coaster together?!?!" (He knows there are no other launched wooden coasters in the world)

I said "Yes, yes it will be..."

He responded with "No it wont... Hashtag It'll Never Open."

I quit this day... Where's the vodka?!

^ Just to be 100% clear, form what I have gathered on this thread, the situation at the moment is that it is not getting ripped down, but it is ripping itself down by going at a million miles an hour, and they don't know how to get the speed down. Dollywood are claiming that is is due to new technology, but it has been around for many years now and has never caused so many problems.

Oh year and also, #itll never happen
