Guy T. Koepp Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 ^Nope, that's just the way I spell Tteenneessee. I can't think of any other way I've spelled it.
kickflipbacktail Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 ^Sweet! Run it and let me on! I will gladly take the spot of a water dummy! Tteenneessee You'll get it one day, Guy. HAHAHAHA!
Dollywoodlover20 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Does this answer any questions? I always go to him for questions and updates being he works there.
ImNotOneOfYou Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Special way of presenting? I'm intrigued
SuperShawn Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 While it feels like This project is cutting it close, if there is one park that I feel confident in getting their new attraction up for opening weekend it is Dollywood. If it were six flags I'd be doubtful but I have no doubt we will see dolly smiling and a bunch of happy folks riding her new rod right on schedule in just around three weeks from now in Ten-a-how-ever-you-wanna-spell-it. Shawn (loves attending opening weekend at Dollywood) Smith
markysharky17 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Does anyone know if the final 2 pieces have been put in yet? I can't wait to see this thing testing!
PVA62 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 From RMC's instagram today: That's beautiful. Can't wait to ride this, definitely my most anticipated new ride (that I will actually get to ride) for this year along with Storm Chaser.
Nrthwnd Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 This will look like an equally awesome second shot, when they have a train coming down that hill. Looking excellent!
ytterbiumanalyst Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 ^Nope, that's just the way I spell Tteenneessee. I can't think of any other way I've spelled it. Ten? I see!
A.J. Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 ^Nope, that's just the way I spell Tteenneessee. I can't think of any other way I've spelled it. It's okay, I can't ever get the name of that one coaster in Spain right. What was it? Shambananacreampie?
Nrthwnd Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Bananacoaster! Thankyou, Liseberg. Now that I have your attention.... ...we will see dolly smiling and a bunch of happy folks riding her new rod right on schedule... I love that line. (Not Fixed.)
DoubleDown Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Man RMC is killing it right now, not only with technology, but quickness of coaster installations, and the very few problems that arise when it comes to getting rides open soon after they're done being installed.
PhantomPoster32 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 ^Nope, that's just the way I spell Tteenneessee. I can't think of any other way I've spelled it. Thanks to the stupid Vols cheer I don't think I'll ever forget how to spell it T - E - Double N - E - Double S - Double E - clap - TENNESSEE
ernierocker Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Heads up to anyone coming down for opening weekend that uses I-75 south. http://wate.com/2016/02/26/i-75n-closed-in-campbell-county-for-rock-slide/ I don't know much yet, but I do know I get to go into work tomorrow and produce the plans for the repair job by Monday morning. If this does affect some of you, I will be sure to keep this thread updated.

There was a huge one on the 24W coming up from Cchhaattaannooggaa when we drove up this afternoon. It had already been cleared and wrangled behind a wall of concrete bull barriers. Lots of rock slides this year.
moneygrabber Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 If memory serves me correctly, I think a portion of I-75 closer to Jelico Mountain fell off back around this time in 2012. I've never been a fan of I-75 up in those mountains. I always feel unsafe up there.
coasterbill Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 So... any news on Lightning Rod? I assume they haven't finished track work yet or someone would have posted about it.
Dollywoodlover20 Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 They only had one more piece to lay down so I assume track work is complete. With 19 days left til opening they aren't as much paying attention to updates as they are getting this thing up and running. That's just my guess.
jimmiemac02 Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Mountain Slidewinder is my favorite ride in the park. Anyone know why the opening is so late? Is it because of operating costs? Daredevil Falls and River Rampage both open on opening day so it can't be weather related.
BeansproutMidget Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 So, my trip to Dollywood is all but booked right now, but we are trying to find any way possible to save money. That means saving money on hotel rooms, food, anything. That and any park advice. Anything is appreciated!
Dollywoodlover20 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Ok so here's my advice. Dollywood's tickets are $64 dollars a piece this year, and being that's your main goal put that at the top of your list. Hotel? How many nights are you going to be in the area? If it's just 1-2 nights you can find many reasonable hotels for a great price under 100 dollars around this time of year. I wouldn't go all DreamMore if you are trying to save money. Restaurants-any where you eat in the area is going to be around 40-60 dollars at the cheapest. (TGI, Olive Garden, Apple Barn, Margaritaville, etc) BUT look for coupons whether they are on the Internet or in the coupon books located at the many stands with brochures. Your hotel will often even give discounts. (By the way, there are also hotels that give Dollywood tickets at a discount) As far as location of hotel, Pigeon Forge would be better. Gatlinburg tends to spike prices for not so nice hotels. Funny story, I've been in a hotel where a bear just walked in, got in the pool, then left. Manager said it happened all the time. That was in Gatlinburg.
