verticalzero Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Looks like a "Wild Mouse" type of layout, quite extreme banking after the drops Lap bars only or OHR...?
jarmor Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I...I dont think this coaster seems to have a wild mouse layout to me. Speaking of which I wonder when the park is gonna actually release a layout of the ride because it is indeed a mystery! Hope that helps!
dr.gumbo Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Speaking of which I wonder when the park is gonna actually release a layout of the ride because it is indeed a mystery! Here I posted it WAY back, I is quite small but it does give you an idea about it!
jarmor Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Yeah, im talking about a layout a little more 3D-ish. Thats a site plan, it doesnt really show much of anything. Im talking about images like this... an this...
cgodsey Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I don't think you will see anything as clear as past renderings. They want to keep this as much as a secret as possible (ala Mummy). For those attending Night of Thunder 3 on Sept 30th, you might be in for a special construction tour!
ECZenith Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I didn't realize the layout was so narrow... I too agree it would be cool to see a rendering of the track, I'm wondering if the ride will have any slow dark ride moments in addition to the wild coaster stuff. (Here's hoping!)
jarmor Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I added a video featuring the construction site...enjoy!
robbalvey Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I've updated the construction page with some new photos today: http://www.themeparkreview.com/dollywood2007/dollywood2007.htm --Robb "Thanks Erik!" Alvey
IwantRevenge Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Those gears looks very cool. Themeing I suppose? about the invisble inversion.
ECZenith Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 ^ Good to see an update. Those gears are in fact part of the theming and will be visible as the car engages the lift hill. You can see this in the video on Dollywood's site. thanks for the update!
arrowfanman Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I dont know why, as I'll not be riding this anytime in the near century, but this ride is looking great to me! I'm more excited about this than any other '07 project, I think! Dont know why. Thanks a bunch for the update! -Jahan
Guy T. Koepp Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Those gears looks very cool. Themeing I suppose? about the invisble inversion. I just wanted to say how much I love your avatar! This ride just keeps getting better and better! It's realy the secret reason that I'm moving to Tennesee next year! Guy "WTF am I doing! I'm moving to Tennesee. Am I retarded? Or do I hear banjos playing? "Koepp or Guy "You got a purty mouth boy." Koepp
nitral Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I love the fact that this coaster has so many STEEP drops !! It's just makes the ride more intense. Also, the ride being in the dark makes it even better !!
robbalvey Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I've updated the construction page with some new photos today: http://www.themeparkreview.com/dollywood2007/dollywood2007.htm Thanks to Erik and Dave! --Robb
jarmor Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 From the way things are looking the 2 inversions will be taken at one time?
ECZenith Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Yup, the half loop will follow an inclined barrel roll. What an assault on the senses!
jarmor Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Finally a new video... and it looks like some video will be playing at the top of the shaft!
dr.gumbo Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Finally They've shown quite a lot of the ride in this video, but that video at the top looks cool, but also a bit cheesy
PKI Jizzman Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Wow, it looks like this will be a truely amazing ride! Those airtime moments and drops look insane! Not to mension that inversion and the hanging upsidown part before it!
coasterdude5 Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 I like the lifthill special effects, I wonder if it will be video, or will use robotics or something.
nannerdw Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 My computer is only showing half of the video. It will not load anything after about the first half of the POV. What do the special effects look like?
goleafsgo Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 looks great. that inline twist to half loop thing looks crazy
coasterfreak101 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Wow, this ride looks amazing! The scenery looks really cool, and it looks like it'll definately promote the mysterious atmosphere of the ride! And then, the ride looks great! The inversions look crazy, especially in a reverse order of how they *usually* come. I also think it's pretty cool how the park is only releasing small bits of the ride at a time, and not one big POV. While it would be nice, it's a different concept that I've never really seen a park do before, which is always welcome!
Reon Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Well it IS a "mystery" mine. I think they should conceal some. That being said, unholdy genericly censored explicatives! I love that double rising heartline, and that effect (looks like a vid to me, unless they want to make a really complex robot) will add alot of drama to the ride.
ECZenith Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Ok, NOW I finally have some idea of what the layout is Very good stuff.
