verticalzero
I always ask the "Ops" if I can re-ride a coaster, in the UK we get told by "staff/Ops" of any UK Theme Park " You are not allowed to re-ride and have to walk round and Q again for the ride" I asked to re-ride "Roller Coaster" at Blackpool in early Nov and I was told "no", no-one was Qing for the ride and it did not make any sence to do a run round. Do you find you can re-ride as many times as you like if there is no-one else Qing..? I went to Walibi World and Heide Park last year and the staff/operators let me re-ride any of coasters as many times as I want. I rode "Goliath" 6 times in a row (Same seat as I was scared to do the front and back seats, I'll do them this year) and "Robin Hood" 5 times. I could choose whatever seat I wanted as long as there was no line for that seat. This is how parks should operate if not busy as it keeps the coaster-lovers happy not to get off their fav ride. How many times have you ridden MF or Thunderhead in 1 day..?..
gunslinger
At SFMM the staff doesn't care. It's just another harness/lapbar check for them. As long as the line for your car is empty. At Knotts, they wouldn't let us re-ride anything. It was lame.
BarryH
Cedar Point and the Cedar Fair parks I've visited don't let you re-ride. You have to walk all the way around if you want to ride again. The Dania Beach Hurricane makes you walk around. Disney will sometimes let you stay on if there is no one in the queue. I rode BTMRR 5 times in a row because there was no one in the queue and the CMs said that we could! BGT lets you re-ride if no one is waiting for your row. Universal is a crapshoot. I've been allowed re-rides on the Flying Unicorn if I asked. Dueling Dragons doesn't let you do a re-ride unless you go through the re-ride entrance (sometimes closed if the line is obscenely long). ebl
Actually at SFMM it's been mixed. Most of the time it's OK to re-ride provided no one's waiting for your row or seat, or you can get out and go into another row if it's open. Occasionally, an attendant will tell you to get back in line even if no one's there. Eric
Chris Benvenuto
Cedar Point and the Cedar Fair parks I've visited don't let you re-ride. You have to walk all the way around if you want to ride again. Well, Well..... That has never happened to me.....I've gone to the park on saturdays, you've heard me right, SATURDAY. and i've gotten re-rides without walking around on Magnum and Mean streak. No other rides though..... that was up until like 02' So yeah. It hasn't happened recently to much these past 4 yrs.
Darien Laker
As long as there's no one else in line for your row at SFDL, they really don't care. I've done Viper and Boomerang numerous times without getting off. Sometimes there will be someone in line for the row you are in, but the ops will just make you move to another seat so the other person can have the seat they waited for (front and back seats, usually). Racerbret
As others said, SFMM allows it most of the time. I've re-ridden on Batman and RR with lines becasue my frineds who rode after me had a seat open. The ops never really cared. I don't know about other CF parks, but I've never had a problem at Knotts either. Last week for example everything was a walk on. You didnt even need to ask to re-ride, just get up and sit somewhere else. Everyone did it and no-one cared. I re-rode, Silver Bullet, Xcelerator, Ghostride, and Monty along with the 20 other people who were actually at the park swithching seats in between rides and going from front to back. If someone was in your row, just get up and sit somewhere else. Always fun.
GeorgiaDawg278
at SFOG, they don't really care about re-riding stuff. Lots of times you'll find situations like on Scorcher (B&M Stand-up) only 2 people get on, they'll yell through the lines to find a group of two to fill up the row. I've re-ridden lots, especially Acrophobia for long periods of time. I've ridden Acro more than 30 times in one day!
CP_RULES
I rode the Boss at SFStL nine times in a row (sometimes moving seats) without having to go all the way back around. Boss also (as was said before about DD) has a re-ride gate if the line is short enough. What is weird though, is that same day, the ride staff wouldnt let me re-ride the Ninja.... but then again, why would you want to re-ride a vekoma? DerekRx
Each park/park chain has different policies about reriding. Six Flags parks usually let you reride if the park is very empty and there is no one waiting. Sometimes they'll actually announce "you can ride again if no one is waiting for your row". Busch will let you reride if no one is waiting for your row, but some parks will only let you reride once (ala SeaWorld). Mostly all of the time, CF parks will NOT let you reride, no matter how empty it is, except for during ERTs and private events. Universal is touch and go, depending on the time of year. Rerides are not allowed on Dueling Dragons because the load and unload are at 2 separate areas and you cannot tell if someone is waiting for your row at the exit. Sometimes its all based on having enough weight on the train. At Hershey I was allowed to reride Storm Runner, but only because it was the end of the night and there was no one waiting for my row, but 3 cycles left waiting for the front seat. To make sure there were enough people that they wouldn't need to break out the water dummies, they allowed us to reride in hopes that we'd accept, which we gladly did! Same thing happened 1 morning at Cedar Point on Millennium Force. There were only people waiting for the front and they didn't want to risk a valleying (like that would ever happen on that ride! ). We got off at the exit and were escorted thru the handicap door to get on the next train waiting to depart. The reride policies usually are not printed anywhere, not on a park guide, entrance sign, etc, but it doesn't hurt to ask the operator if you think you should be able to ride again. Worst case, he'll say no.
CoasterCrazy
During opening weekend at SFoG last year I rode the GASM 16 times before I had to leave my seat. The only reason why I had to leave my seat is because someone was waiting for it. If you want to keeping riding the ride and the line isn't that busy they will just tell you to find a empty seat. Xtreeme79
This past October a couple of friends and I went to the Harvest Celebration/Festival at Dollywood. We Rode Thunderhead 8 times in a row. It was morning time and they were running 2 trains and I guess they wanted full trains. They were actually encouraging re-rides. And quite happily I might add. After our 8th circuit we were leaving to go explore the rest of the park and they were literally BEGGING us to stay and keep riding. It was a lot of fun actually. They were very friendly; laughing and joking with all of us. We thought it might be a fluke but when we got to Tennessee Tornado we experienced the exact same thing. The friendliness of the staff is what keeps me going back to that park year after year...and the amazing atmosphere of course. Two thumbs up for Dollywood... woot woot! Nick C. calcajun
The situation varies depending on how few or when there are a lot of empty seats. Until you experience it you just don't know the headache this can cause It is very easy for us as a guest to say, "why can't I reride there is an empty seat". When it is a sparse seat here and there, it then can create a problem when others see and want to do the same. When lots of empty seats are available it is easy and actually fun to let peeps just get out then enter back into unused seats. I train my team members that it is at their discretion but I do stress to be as giving as possible. This also includes giving a few rerides to the last train of the night and to have fun with it. By the way, if I get extra points for this, I also train on how to check restraints quick with it touching a rider but not stapling. That’s just me. Others have different beliefs. SonOfBeastSucks
From my experiences at SFKK and PKI, they don't really care. I haven't really been to another park when the crowds were that low though. Send me a PM asking for my SFKK story sometime.

It was totally awesome
Nrthwnd
^ I will probably be testing that theory this April and May, when I get over to my park, Playland, and ride our famed twister coaster called....what else? Coaster! I figure the way I look, the ops may start to recognize me, and if I let them in, on my being a part of the UK Tour in June...who knows? They might pass me thru, w/o leaving the car, LOL.... Hey I'm nearly 53 - bite me. I figure it's worth a shot/mention, and then see what happens. And I am easily open to sitting middle of this great coaster. Easy. larrygator
The only park I visited where I got multiple rerides was KBF. Unfortunately, I don't make it to many parks on weekdays.
Sexy No Jutsu
Yeah, I did it at KBF as well. With MZR, they let us stay on the ride 3 times in a row. With SFMM, it really depends on the ride, and the operators. I once went on scream 8 times in a row. A few hours later, we tried to do that again, and they wouldn't let us. Disneyland RARELY lets you do it. But, I did it once on Splash Mountain. I am DYING to try to stay on Haunted Mansion. See what's behind that exit area. Even if it's just wall, I'd still be interested in seeing it.
Corkscrewed
I've been able to re-ride at Knott's before. I think it basically depends on the ride op and whether or not they're being held to strict rules by the shift leader or not. So basically, my policy is to simply ask, and if the answer is no, then so be it.
coasterboi
Amazingly at DLRP they let me stay on indiana jones the temple of peril for 45 mins cause the queue was walk on.I got 24 rides
mark9
Alton Towers doesnt let re-rides. Thorpe can be very picky (you can stay on Inferno, but not Colossus). I've never known Chessington not to let people stay on. Can't comment on the other UK Parks.
Thrillrider15
No I haven't had a re ride, or asked for a re ride before. But you know, the Wild Thing ride contest that they've been doing over the past couple of years, they just do a lap bar check, and they're back out there. Even if it's just wall, I'd still be interested in seeing it. If it's like the exit at WDW, the car basically makes a turn (a large U turn sort of) that is in almost total darkness and a few seconds later, you are back in the loading area. BC
When visiting Walibi World in Holland last year I saw a pretty cool trick to re-ride any two-seater ride with just one train running (in this case Goliath): Three people in line. Instead of waiting for two different carriages (= all three getting on the same ride), all three waited for the same carriage. Two of them got on the first ride. When the train came back to re-load, only one of the guys got off, the other shiftet one seat, and the third guy got on. That way one of them got to ride twice, and everyone was happy. Even the people waiting for that particular carriage, as it was no extra wait for them anyway. Clever if you ask me. Perhaps this is also depending on whether the op of the ride allows people to leave and enter at the same time. Cause if it's one of these rides where everyone have to have left the platform before they let in the new riders, it probably wouldn't work. So a great trick - but not for all rides.
