TheCoasterKid211 Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Holy crap, Vekoma's making some good stuff lately. What's gotten into them?
CSLKennyNI Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 The park has renamed itself to Legendia. http://www.legendia.pl/ Definitely easier to say than Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko.
Rill'o'beily Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 The park has renamed itself to Legendia. http://www.legendia.pl/ Definitely easier to say than Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko. I checked out the website and it seems they're also repainting and retheming lots of their rides to a more fantasy theme, also renaming them into english to be more appealing for tourists (probably to compete with energylandia)
Henry M Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 The roll over the station looks beautiful. This ride is liturally the perfect mix of airtime, inversions, themeing and being compact. New top coaster for the world? Not quite, but soon Vekoma will be owning the polls.
Steely Dan Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 If that things rides even half as good as it looks, Vekoma will have a sure-fire hit on their hands.
PVA62 Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Wow, very cool! That first element after the drop is going to be crazy, really fast!
Canobie Coaster Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Wow I'd love to see a Vekoma like that in the US. That drop looks outstanding and the trains look really cool as well.
exedeusex Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 This layout is insane. Poland has quickly found it's place on my future European coaster trip. Can't wait to ride this one in particular.
viking86 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Vekoma just posted a video of the maiden run on facebook. For a first run it definitely seems to carry some decent speed! Warning! (vertical video)
thrillseeker4552 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 That looks really intense... both with positive and negative forces. Vekoma is really upping their game.
Samuel Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Looks good! Very fluid and original, and that drop should be nuts in the back row. Although the first video was shot vertically, I like that it catches the raw sounds of the ride. A lot of the European parks seem to favor cinematic soundtracks and/or glossy production values in their footage; understandable, but I prefer the "coasters in the raw" approach, which I think gives a better feel for the personality of a ride. Lord, the previous sentence was nerdy.
Mater Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 This thing is so god damn amazing. To think, these people made the boomerang. What a come back story.
canadianparkfan Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 It sucks. ...Who am I kidding? This looks absolutely incredible! Good to see other manufacturers besides intamin making great stuff lately. More chances to see something of this calibre built in North America, seeing as intamin hasn't been too active here lately.
RyanTPM Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 God this coaster is good, they're doing a fantastic job with the theming so far as well!
flaffstar Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Here's a way better video made by the park: [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew] Looks pretty insane for the first test run. The First drop looks like it would kick all sorts of ass in the last row!
Rougarou Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 https://rcdb.com/5637.htm. The ride cost 4.36 million euros and a 1 eoro is 1.11 dollars. So this coaster is a great value.
coasterbill Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Vekoma just posted a video of the maiden run on facebook. For a first run it definitely seems to carry some decent speed! Warning! (vertical video) The best thing about this video is that if you look closely you can see the guy standing next to the guy shooting it shooting his own video and also doing it incorrectly.
PKI Jizzman Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I hope it rides as well as it looks! Great job Vekoma. I'm excited to hear reviews once it opens.
Rill'o'beily Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 The ride cost 4.36 million euros So this thing is cheaper than an S&S Freespin?
SteelForceless Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 This ride looks awesome! If it rides as well as it looks, then it'll be great. Combined with the low price tag, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a few of these pop up elsewhere in the world.
_koppen Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 So this thing is cheaper than an S&S Freespin? No it is not. The ride is built in Poland where wages is 1/3 of Western Europe. Sure the rides hardware and the specialized team assembling it cost the same, but everything else about it is much cheaper.
Rill'o'beily Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Sure the rides hardware and the specialized team assembling it cost the same, but everything else about it is much cheaper. If the hardware and the team assembling it cost the same, what is there left to cost less besides theming (which doesn't count in the cost anyway)? Unless the track and trains were also made in poland I don't see how the wages there affect the cost of the ride but maybe I'm just not getting what you're saying. (if im just not understanding something blatantly obvious i'd just like to defend myself by saying this is my 20th hour awake)
viking86 Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 While I have no idea where the track/trains for this coaster was built, I did spot this on the Vekoma website: Vekoma Rides Manufacturing has production facilities for track production and train assembly, which facilities are located in the Netherlands, Eastern Europe and China, allowing production at locations that best fit the clients’ destination. The facilities have contemporary equipment, like pipe bending machines, CNC controlled cutting machines, several milling machines, plane machines, saw bench and composing machines, rolling machine and carousels with rotating tables. https://www.vekoma.com/index.php/col1/production-facilities

They also use Huisman outside of Xiamen in China for their installations in that part of the world. I'd imagine this came from either the Czech Republic or Slovakia.
