ansley Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 It looks amazing! We're headed there in June, can't wait to ride. Totally love Phantasialand, went last summer and had a great time. ... too bad they're closing the Mexican section, I sorta liked that mine ride. Ted
attack7 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 That looks fantastic. And while I love the music, it sounds like "I'm a Flintstones Kid!"

They closed down the Western themed section and Silbermine dark ride for future(maybe 2015?) attractions.
Gmaster562 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I love the speed they put on the switch track to make it more exciting!
619fan Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Thanks for the pics. I'm really looking forward to ride Chiapas on Saturday!!!!!!!! After I saw the pics and the video it's even more harder for me to wait until Saturday, but I can't go to the regular season opening tomorrow...
parktraveler Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Here is another video about CHIAPAS, which includes impressions of the detailed waiting area, the unique landscape and an onride: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
coasterfreak101 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 What is the theme? It looks like some kind of archeological dig and then you get blown into some Mayan dance party. I see nothing wrong here!
Sven Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 What is the theme? It looks like some kind of archeological dig and then you get blown into some Mayan dance party. The Disco part of the ride is inspired by a Mexican tradition called: Día de Muertos http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead
gisco Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 This looks like a really cool log flume ride. They did a great job with the theming.. Love how quick the transitions are in the direction changes.

larrygator Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Here is another video about CHIAPAS, which includes impressions of the detailed waiting area, the unique landscape and an onride: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] I think I spotted Hanno at the 10:00 mark in the video
The Yeti Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 That is one awesome log flume. I feel that a visit to Phantasialand is finally justified! I also think I just realized that I'm a log flume enthusiast...
FreeFaller Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Great report with great photos! Thanks for sharing your impressions It looks really stunning!
FirstDropJay Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Ok. That is seriously stunning! Thanks for all the great pics
Nrthwnd Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 That is one awesome log flume. I feel that a visit to Phantasialand is finally justified! I also think I just realized that I'm a log flume enthusiast... River Quest, The Winjas, Mystery Castle, Jackson's Mine Train were always worth going to PhL for. This is just a bonus. And a very nice awesomely themed bonus it is, too.
JonnyRCT3 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Wow, one of the best flumes I have ever seen. So unique, and the theming is incredible. That last drop has some serious choppers!
televisedconfession Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Mexican Heritage and Log Flumes... two of my favorite things. Now I just need a few beers before going on and I'm in heaven. Can't wait to go back and ride this!
Hhappy Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 Small update Here's the POV I got the footage for that day:
gerstlaueringvar Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Wow! Impressive ride! Pretty sure Phantasialand has a winner. Thanks for the TR and the POV Hanno!
Mushoba Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 It was a real got event and pretty well organized by the Park.I hope they will do this now for every new big ride. The MExican Disco song is a real brain washer! I hae some more Photos on my fb page https://www.facebook.com/BArt10000/media_set?set=a.10203289476935388.1073741829.1163847321&type=3
PARALAX Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I also was there on April, 1st and I really was amazed about the really cool concept and thematisation. I ride it not less than 7 times, 4 of them especially for footage. Edit: I'm forced to remove it as I don't have 100 posts yet, sorry! Too bad! Well, it's still available on my YouTube channel if anyone want to check it.
rcjp Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Really cool pov and nice that you got to shot all the theming bits that you couldn't see with a fixed camera. Looks like a very interesting ride. And, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but THE THEMING IS AWESOME!
Dar Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Does anybody know if the trims are adjustable for more or less splash during the summer?
