larrygator
@open_door: Any chance to see a backseat POV, please? Top priority! Need this in my life, thanks I would bet that Robb and Elissa are also making this a priority on their European trip.
_koppen
It was on the morning news today, Wildfire broke the live-feed! The quote from the reporter was that you should ride this every morning! Here
KingRCT3
Great video, thanks for sharing! I love how the broadcast couldn't even keep up with the ride madness! By the way, isn't that the first RMC to be equiped with a silent anti roll-back device? You can see the extra metal fin on the right, and, well, hear no claclaclac sound. Love the smoke burst in the tunnel - I hope this effect will last!

CedarPoint
I got to ride Wildfire three times on the Media Day yesterday and all I can say is WOW! This coaster is incredible from start to finish! My favorite part was the first drop but everything about Wildfire is awesome. I hope you all get to experience this masterpiece. Here's a video and some photos for you. Please don't use any of the photos without my permission. Thank you! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
RyanTPM
^Thanks for those great pictures, i really do find it incredible that they've managed to get it all done in such a short amount of time. Looking forward to the official opening tomorrow!
viking86
Thanks for sharing the pictures! Wildfire looks absolutely amazing! I'm still struggling to comprehend that we now actually have an RMC here in Scandinavia. I'm planning to head over to Sweden in August, really looking forward to it. robbalvey
I have just received this message from Mattais at Kolmarden: Wildfire will not open today due to technical problems. The manufacturers have made us aware of a potential defect on a part in the trains. We have not detected any fault on our trains, but for us it is a matter of following the instructions from the manufacturers of the attraction. We are very sorry for those who where looking forward to ride Wildfire today and the next few days. We are working hard to move as quickly as possible to get Wildfire up and running, but we anticipate that it will take at least 3-5 days.
Zingao
According to the local newspaper, Kolmården will replace cylinders that keep the restraints in place. Some kind of manufacturing error has been discovered on another park location and the park will therefore take extra measures to make sure that Wildfire is equipped with the correct parts. They expect it to take 3-5 days to get the new parts and to do some testing. http://www.nt.se/nyheter/norrkoping/wildfire-stangs-av-delar-maste-undersokas-vi-ar-otroligt-ledsna-om4183670.aspx
RCT3Bross
I feel really bad for all the people who went out of their way to get to the park today just to ride Wildfire. But safety first, hope to hear some good news soon.
_koppen
Does this mean that all the Rocky Mountain's, without Gerstlauer trains, are down?
LiftThrill
Safety first! Hopefully this doesn't mean Lightning Rod and other RMCs with the non-Gerst trains are closed as well. Although I am laughing a little bit at the people who were all making fun of Lightning Rod for not opening on time and Wildfire opening perfectly. Let's be honest, since when does any coaster actually open on time perfectly? Heck, I remember Iron Rattler had a pretty smooth opening year.... until the NTaG incident. Stuff happens. appel
Safety first! Hopefully this doesn't mean Lightning Rod and other RMCs with the non-Gerst trains are closed as well. Guess that could be true as Lightning Rod also seems to be closed until next week, look at the Dollywood thread.
RyanTPM
Although I am laughing a little bit at the people who were all making fun of Lightning Rod for not opening on time and Wildfire opening perfectly. This slight delay and Lightning Rods delay are in no way comparable at all though. This is only stated as a 3-5 day delay, the issues with Lightning Rod are massively different. KingRCT3
Is this a problem with these cylinders, introduced earlier this year? Anyway, safety first!

Yeah definitely, but still it is getting delayed.
Henry M
I love it how lodes of people are all saying these delays have ruined the whole reputation of RMC. And now they will go out of business and all their coasters will close!
coasterkyle
They said that about Intamin as well.
A.J.
The Intamin Cab... I mean the Rocky Mountain Rest... I mean the B&M Vest... I mean... Every new system is going to have its teething problems. I wouldn't read too much into it unless it's six months down the road and the coaster is down every day for whatever reason.
Superbatboy
Is this a problem with these cylinders, introduced earlier this year? Anyway, safety first! Well they were definitely having problems with Joker's restraint system when we were there last Friday. One of the times, someone's restraint wouldn't lock even though the system was telling the ride op the train was clear for dispatch. I really feel for RMC right now, I hope this doesn't affect any of the future projects they have lined up. Will parks start losing confidence in them? I hope not!
