Ah here's mine. You guys probably think its weird ranking timberwolf high. But i kind of have a way to ignore the roughness, we'll actually I think it is smoother this year than previous years. And I once went when I was the only person on the train and they didn't have the trim brakes on the drop on and boy did that thing fly wow the airtime was great

I think Outlaw Run will be in the top three, hard to compete with it based on all the reviews i've seen. I'm also liking how high Wooden Warrior is on people's lists, it's better than half the wooden coasters out there.

Judging from TPR's result, Outlaw Run can easily run into top three. That's a great news! Looking forward to the coming of the steel coaster poll.

I'm amazed at the way Outlaw Run seems to be beating El Toro in most of the polls of mutual riders. I haven't ridden Outlaw Run yet but if it's really better than El Toro then I need to buy a plane ticket like... yesterday.

 

Then again I can't totally go on other people's opinions because a lot of people are putting Boulder Dash ahead of El Toro and I don't even think it belongs in the same discussion. It's a great ride, but it's not El Toro. Then again, I guess the fact that people disagree so much is what makes this fun.

Is Outlaw Run *HOLYBALLSAWESOMEOMGITSINMYTOPTEN*? Yes.

 

Is it better than El Toro? I don't think so. I'm an "airtime person" and while Outlaw Run has a lot, I still haven't found anything in the USA that quite beats out El Toro's OMFG airtime.

 

Because I'm an airtime person, it's going to be hard to beat out Balder, T-Express, and Phoenix.

 

I'm not sure where I'm going to rank Outlaw Run. It will go in my top ten absolutely. No question! Possibly in my top five.

Just realized that I only got on nine new woodies this year and unfortunately Outlaw Run or Gold Striker weren't two of them. Good news is that three of them cracked my Fine Fifteen!

 

And as highly disappointed as I was with Holiday World's wooden coasters, none of them were bad enough to be qualified as "bottom feeders"...although Voyage was close.

In the USA, absolutely. Just remember there are a LOT of really good wood coasters in other parts of the world, though.

^That's the sad part for me. My only out of country experiences with wooden coasters have been at Canada's Wonderland and Le Ronde...and their coasters all ranked in my bottom 15.

 

Makes me realize two things:

 

1. I need to get to more parks in Europe and Asia.

2. Eastern Canada really needs at least one good (or even decent) wooden coaster.

I went ahead and just did my ballot. I've been on 178 of the woodies that were on the ballot, however I don't rank them 1 through 178. I often use the grouping method because, let's be honest, when you get down past about 25, I'm not sure it really matters THAT much. It's not like some park is going to be all "YES!!! We have the number 37th woodie in the world!"

 

So I choose to use more of a grouping method for the middle section of rides I feel that are similar in my liking. Anyway....

YES! Finally. Hope they do the steel poll again after bringing it back last year. Excited to see where Outlaw Run, Goldrusher and White Lightning land.

 

Wow Robb, Hades last?? And I've always wanted to ride that one so bad! I have high tolerance for a rough ride, but that thing must really be awful.

Anyway, I see now how few woodies I've ridden, 19 out of my list of 93? This must be remedied in 14.

Hades 360 was by far the worst roller coaster experience I've had. Sans the new part which was really fun, but even that couldn't save it.

^It's a shame, too. Hades was one of my favorite wooden coasters when it first opened. The layout is awesome (360 version even more so), it just needs a complete retrack. In it's current state it's last on my list as well. I refuse to even ride the 360 version, it's just not worth the torture!

I almost feel dirty to say that I actually didn't mind Hades (pre-loop), but I only rode it once around 12:30 at night, in the front seat, after I had been drinking a little bit. Must be that the couple of cocktails loosened me up because I thought it wasn't that bad at the time!

 

I think I had it ranked about the lower middle of the pack...
