Projektion
If I'm honest, I kinda thought the same thing about Helix while it was being constructed. I saw everyone raving about it and how amazing it was going to be/look, and I just didn't get it. As for WC, I'm so looking forward to it, even just for the real POV's since I'll likely never get to ride it in person.
gerstlaueringvar
Helix does look like it's shaking a bit from the video. The Norwegian Loop doesn't look as smoothly connected as the Intamin ones, more like a Dive Loop and an Immelmann combined together. I really like the layout of Helix, hopefully I will ride to to see if it is as good as I pictured. Gröna Lund's ghost train looks like a very good one RMC does not disappoint! I think Cyclone's layout gave Alan the "limit" he is looking for. It must be pretty challenging for RMC to build a coaster with Bizarro in the same park
rctneil
In Jake's trip report about Liseberg the other day, I too commented that I really enjoyed Helix but I noticed it had a shake to it. I loved two amazing points of airtime on the ride and the second launch is the best but they are both quite weak. I also rode Blue Fire the other day and I think I would rate Helix slightly more than Blue Fire but not by much. I did find Blue Fire to be a more intense ride overall. ozziboy
I've got to admit that I'm one of those that loved riding Helix that day. Just as a coaster, I don't think I'd rank it in my top list of all coasters, but as a package with the beautiful terrain setting, the station theme music, that crazy queue line, and a fair amount of airtime hills made the overall ride something I'll always remember. The Bla Taget ghost train at Grona Lund was really cool, and it was so nice to still have a 'traditional' one where they don't try to preoccupy you with shooting at targets, as some do. As for Cyclone, its looking like it should turn out to be an incredible ride. I might have to check out a POV of the old ride to try to remember how it was, to compare all the changes. Nrthwnd
Bla taget was great, and I only wish I'd gone on it a couple more times. Great dark ride. Besides Twister.
Nickstroberg
I always thought Helix looked like it was less impressive than everyone made it out to be originally. I remember reading nonstop reports from enthusiasts claiming it to be "OMG the BeSt RolLEr Coaster EVVAAAAARRR!" Having not ridden it, I cannot really comment on how it rides, but I feel like I would be underwhelmed by it. Now if it were an Intamin, in the style of Maverick, or Cheetah Hunt, THAT would be a "must ride" coaster for me. ....Wicked Cyclone looks straight up F***ing INSANE! My prediction is that it will be the best of all the iron horse converted coasters. Love the pacing, and that stall-thing looks pretty damn rad. Twisted Colossus looks pretty neat due to the racing aspect, but I'm fairly certain that Wicked Cyclone will blow it away. Cannot wait to try this puppy out next year! rcjp
^Having not ridden any RMC yet, I find it funny how the ones that look (based on POVs and animations) the most appealing to me are the smallest (WC and medusa)

Nickstroberg
YES!!! ALL HAIL ANTON! The man was a genius, no doubt about it. The launch on this badboy is surprisingly forceful given its age, damn shame that so few of these/his other creations remain
Blue Turbo
Fantastic ride! I just love how small the catch car is, but it still packs a punch.
rcdude
Helix: This ride looks like a very good ride, but not a travel-worthy ride like some have been making it out to be. The coaster does look like it has some good moments, but at the same time it seems like there is filler in there. I was also surprised how long the ride is (2:10 is pretty long for a launched coaster). Bla Taget: Why can't we have nice things like this in the US? I have a hard time imagining there is an old-school spook house anywhere that is better than this ride. Wicked Cyclone: When the ride was announced, I thought this looked like the more intense of 2015's Rocky Mountain coasters but that Twisted Colossus was the overall better ride. After seeing a POV, however, Wicked Cyclone may be the better coaster, and I could see it becoming a contender for best RMC. Montezooma's Revenge: Even though the ride is 36 years old, this is still one of California's best coasters and the second best at Knott's (only Xcelerator is better IMO). I still think the Schwarzkopf shuttle loop was the best shuttle coaster design ever built and it's too bad that so few remain. I really hope Knott's keeps Montezooma's Revenge alive as long as possible.
SingleRiderCam
Montezooma's Revenge is a great Schwarzkopf classic. I'm so glad that it's still running powerfully in 2014.
gerstlaueringvar
Have to ride a shuttle loop! Seems like Knott's did an amazing job keeping it running.
ZeroGravity55
^Having not ridden any RMC yet, I find it funny how the ones that look (based on POVs and animations) the most appealing to me are the smallest (WC and medusa) Same thing with me. I think the incredible pacing is what has really grabbed my attention the most. I could say that about all the RMC's so far, but those two are the ones that standout the most to me. rcjp
^That's right. It's essentially the crazy pacing that does it for me. Have to ride a shuttle loop! Seems like Knott's did an amazing job keeping it running. Me too. They look so simple yet everyone loves them. I want to find out how they ride! coasterchitchat
I really love anything by Anton. Some of the best coasters out there. Wicked Cyclone- OMG!! That looks like the best ride of 2015
Guy T. Koepp
I loves me some Monty! However, I can't help but get a chuckle from a ride that is named after explosive diarrhea.
robbalvey
Today's Daily Video is yet another classic! The updated version of Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland! POST YOUR COMMENTS!!!
GCI Wooden
The amount of detail Disney puts into theming never ceases to amaze me. Hopefully I can get to Disney world this winter and ride that version.
Nickstroberg
Their theming takes "meh" coasters, and turns them into a memorable "experience". Great fun! I'd love to see a Maverick, or an ispeed, with this level of detail in the theming/scenery. That would be pretty damn incredible Still, Big Thunder Mountain, Big Grizzly Mountain, and Expedition Everest are ALL fantastic coasters, LOVE IT! gerstlaueringvar
^ Intamin Blitz coasters are too fast for riders to appreciate the detailed themeing. What's the difference between the old one and the new one except for more themeing? I didn't follow this project.
Blue Turbo
^The final lift scene was updated and most of the track was replaced
Nrthwnd
The original Big Thunder had always been a great ride, for myself. And the new ending looks great, although I'm sure it looks muuuch better, in person.
ozziboy
Wow, I wasn't aware that they'd been upgrading this attraction. The new ending looks really cool - is the new cave intended to reflect the style of the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Disney World? I'll always remember Big Thunder as the first attraction that I rode on my first ever visit to Disneyland. I think it was because it seemed to have the shortest wait on that particular day!
