Bolliger&Mabillard Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 ^Well, I mean...the ropes are yellow.....Yellow's a bright color...
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 But they aren't as cool as a proper entrance.
gisco Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I'm with you Chris, the yellow rope is not cool and just doesn't fit in. They should redo the entrance with something that fits the location and draws people in.
cfc Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Was the ticket shack demolished, or pulled out for restoration? They have been doing a pretty good job restoring ghost town lately...hope this is part of that. Same. Well, they did remove, rehab, and return the Catawumpus.
Zeppelinfreak Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Without the ticket booth the whole scale of the mountain looks off. It looks too small now.
chadster Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 They had to remove it to make room for the mega hyper aquatrax launched flying coaster.
susie zueck Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 They should change the color of the rope to brown.
gisco Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 ^That would probably make it a safety hazard because it wouldn't be visable!
G-Force! Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Dear Knotts: You should really consider announcing something VERY SOON because you are going to get left behind in the dust. That's it. Very simple and to the point. K? Thanks, bye.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 ^They can ANNOUNCE anything they want...What the park needs to remain a powerhouse in the market is to ACTUALLY BUILD something. Something large. Rip out everything minus Ghost Town and Xcelerator if need be!
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Xcel has been there for a decade. That's nostalgic enough...
DJeXeL Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 And it's been running for at least 1/2 of said decade.......
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 ^Don't worry about all that...It's been THERE for 10 years...
Gnome Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 ^They can ANNOUNCE anything they want...What the park needs to remain a powerhouse in the market is to ACTUALLY BUILD something. Something large. Rip out everything minus Ghost Town and Xcelerator if need be! they could rip out Xcelerator and I wouldn't cry. Its cool, but it takes up an awful lot of space for such a short ride. I'd still take the Soap Box Derby over it any day.
susie zueck Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Knotts will loose a lot of attendance in 2012 if they don't announce anything. USH has Transformers to look forward to and it also has the Harry Potter world coming soon. SFMM is also announcing Lex Luthers drop of doom. If Knotts wants to keep their attendance up than they are going to have to announce something MAJOR soon.
DJeXeL Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Doesn't really matter at this point because even if they do announce something "Major" it won't be open until December at the earliest and that's being EXTREMELY optimistic.
Someotherguyuser Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 It sounds like they're only going to stick with Windseeker as their main marketing tool. Makes sense considering that they never could get it open in time for Summer last year.
Immel Man Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Guys, attendance at Knott's is not going to simply nosedive in one season just because other SoCal parks announce new attractions and Knott's doesn't. They'll be just fine and won't be "left in the dust." Wait- here's an idea! Why doesn't Cedar Fair just announce that they will be putting California's Great America INSIDE Knott's Berry Farm! Solves two problems for CF and then Knott's will never decline....
DJeXeL Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 The park will be fine. They went 3 years between Pony Express and Windseeker......They will do just fine.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I got something that will solve all Knotts' problems....Two words. LASER SHOW...
djbrcace1234 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Knotts will loose a lot of attendance in 2012 if they don't announce anything. If Knotts wants to keep their attendance up than they are going to have to announce something MAJOR soon. um, you do realize that with all these additions will provide tourist to come, and possibly visit Knott's. Every year that Disney puts something in, Knott's in return gets a boost in attendance as well, simply by the proximity the two parks share. I don't see that not putting anything in this year is a liability for Knott's.
Gnome Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 nothing new will be arriving for the summer season anyways, so what does it matter if they announce it now? We still won't have it for awhile.
-Edge of Beast- Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 The park is in SoCal, of course it will be busy even without new attractions.
RCFreak Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I don't see that not putting anything in this year is a liability for Knott's. Honestly I would normally agree with you, but I think with both Universal and Sea World (and even SFMM to an extent) getting new attractions next year, Knott's will take a hit. Not anything substantial, but I definitely think that people (local families) thinking of heading to Disneyland for Carsland might head to SWSD or USH having new attractions over Knott's with nothing terribly new.
