GeorgeT Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Good job, Robb--a very enjoyable thread with nice surprises. And why not end the month with Goudurix? Oh yeah...there´s even a song about it..."Safe the best for last"...
bert425 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 yes, adding my thanks as well. not only a fantastic job, but gave me something to look forward to every day. it was very much enjoyed by me
XYZ Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 It's hilarious that Parc Asterix plays calm music around Goudurix, found at 4:00 on the video.
jray21 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Glad I skipped that park when I was in Paris! That ride looks brutal. I like how you can hear the jackhammering in the screaming.
disney4me2001 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Getting caught up after missing the last few days...loved the POVs of the defunct coasters! That's something that I love about TPR's videos- it's nice that they have this footage available for us to watch long after some of these rides are gone (on a side note, one of my favorite ones is the Jaws video from last year!). As for that last video, all I can say is "OUCH!"
cfc Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Glad I skipped that park when I was in Paris! That ride looks brutal. I like how you can hear the jackhammering in the screaming. Parc Asterix itself is actually pretty nice, and it has some very good attractions--but the operations leave a bit to be desired.
Geauga Dog Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Just caught up on the fnal video. I always liked Gouderix's layout but considering it is an early Vekoma I can imagine how brutal it may be as everyone seems to agree with. As for the butterfly, the one on SFOG's Ninja was actually pretty smooth.
cfc Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 ^Vekomas are usually photogenic--but they're usually foul of temperament, too.
Meteornotes Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Ah, Gouderix, I can still feel the pain in my skull. And I only rode you once. In 2005. Truly a craptacular ride! dt
Coolex Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 OH SHIT ! I´m going there this august. What have I done? . . . Didnt know.
gisco Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Both times I have been to Paris I have missed the park and this ride. Doesn't look like I missed much on the ride part.

Seems that Paris theme parks aren't known for their great operations all that much.
markysharky17 Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Is Goudrix that bad of a coaster. Is it worst then Ninja at SFOG?
ThePasswordIsPie Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Gourdrix doesnt look so rough. Then again, I never rode a Vekoma before
simaticable Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Gourdrix doesnt look so rough. You don't know pain. Then again, I never rode a Vekoma before Ok, now it makes sense.
TyRush Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 ^^I think you may have rode it and now your head is bashed up

Customer service at Paris Disney was definitely the worst of any Disney park, though (even checking into one of their hotels took a long time). Oh, and this. Gourdrix doesnt look so rough. ThePasswordIsPie Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 (00:07:16) XYZ: If it wasn't for Pie, I would've never discovered that facepalm gif. Thanks Pie. You better believe it.
caffeine_demon Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I can think of a few coasters I dislike more than goudurix - Furius baco, kanonen, infusion (and some of the other SLCs, Space mountain 2 and hershey park sooperdooperlooper.
scbt Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I can think of a few coasters I dislike more than goudurix - hershey park sooperdooperlooper. What? How can you like Goudurix more than SDL? I understand that SDL is one of the tamest Schwarzkopf's but it doesn't try to kill you.
robbalvey Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 While I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions, ^^ makes no sense to me at all. I'm just going to forget that I read it.
cmullin Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 ^ I'll agree with that. From what I've heard Goudurix is extremely rough, and when I went on SDL it was a really fun a pretty smooth.
