Coasterguy21
^Yeah they are. I just counted it as one due to the low height requirement and because kids seem to want to ride it all the time. But yeah, the last few helixes are quite intense. The ride definitely packs a punch.
cfc
^I'd call Scorpion a good "transitional" ride--it does pack quite a punch.
TPDave
I've got a soft spot for Space Mountain (Not Paris though!!)
BigDipper 80
Big Thunder Mountain gets my vote. I've always loved it, it has a low height requirement, it's well-themed and it's just plain FUN. Plus, it helped spark my interest in roller coasters way back in the day!
ernierocker
After my recent trip, I'd have to go with Space Mountain at WDW.
cfc
After my recent trip, I'd have to go with Space Mountain at WDW. Â Disney of the master of the "family coaster," and the Space Mountain rides (except for Paris) are perfect examples. eddie200330
Kingdom Coaster really packs a punch for a family coaster....really surprised me as it was also quite fun and my son loved it!

Randomman295
(except for Paris) What exactly is wrong with the Space Mountain in DLP?
televisedconfession
After my recent trip, I'd have to go with Space Mountain at WDW. Â Disney of the master of the "family coaster," and the Space Mountain rides (except for Paris) are perfect examples. Â I'm anxious to see how the Dwarf Coaster will turn out! I think that'll be a great family ride. Â Also, I'll put my vote in for Wooden Warrior.
caffeine_demon
(except for Paris) What exactly is wrong with the Space Mountain in DLP? Â It's rough and horrible!
Sidra
My favorite coaster as a kid was Thunder Mountain Railroad. I'd say my new favorite 'family' coaster is Sierra Sidewinder, depending on how you balance it that ride can pack a hell of a punch.
Parallax
El Toro has a 48" requirement, so that gets my vote. Â Â In all seriousness, probably Expedition Everest.
A.J.
What exactly is wrong with the Space Mountain in DLP? The Paris Space Mountain is a Vekoma launched coaster with a sidewinder, a corkscrew, and a cutback. Hardly a family coaster, especially with its 54" height requirement. BackseatBoss
I'm not sure about how large the lap bars can be, but pepsi orange streak (still ripsaw in my heart) at the mall of america is a great family ride. It was my first "big" coaster growing up, yet it's still exciting enough for adults.
Nyteowl
Manta at SWSD definitely gets my vote. It has a low height requirement, but is enjoyable for everyone including the die hard enthusiasts.
ThanksforRiding
Even though Skull Mountain at Six Flags Great Adventure is a really good little family coaster (that first drop is a little crazy in the back) I guess I'll give it to Disney World's Space Mountain. denning
Wanted to bring this back - with a focus on lower limits i.e. 40 inches  top three i have been on are:  1. Freedom Flyer (Funspot USA) 36 inches 2. 7 Dwarfs Main train - 38 inches 3. Trailblazer - Hersheypark - 36 inches
Devins3
I'll have to go with the easy one and pick Firechaser Express. I thoroughly enjoyed that ride and with a 39 inch height limit it was perfect for anybody really. Would Phoenix at 42 inches be in the running? It is a more intense coaster but I see families with young kids riding that ride all the time and are having a blast.
coasterbill
Wodden Warrior for me, but if we have to go 40 inches tall or less I'd say Firechaser Express or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Â ^ Calling Phoenix a family coaster is really a stretch in my opinion.
K1ngdaKa88
Pegasus @ Europapark is a really good famil coaster! Very smooth, not to tall and you can ride it with a Minimum height of 1m (39in) and a Minimum Age of 4 years
KarlaKoaster
Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris. I love it as a thrill seeker, and kids love it too, and the fact you can sit three across with small kids makes it even better!
BugEyed
At one time Ghoster Coaster at CW would have had my vote. Â As a teenager in the mid-80's it was smooth, surprisingly fast and had 3 or 4 pops of ejector air. My friends and I used to marathon it when Hanna-Barbera Land started clearing out for the night. Unfortunately time (and maintenance) have not been kind to it. Â These days my vote would be for Sooperdooperlooper.
