thrillseeker4552 Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 So I made this thread for the pure reason of curiosity. What was your first B&M coaster?!
thrillseeker4552 Posted October 27, 2012 Author Posted October 27, 2012 For me it was Silver Bullet at KBF.
cfc Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Alpengeist at Busch Gardens Williasmburg (my first inverted coaster, too).
tiger01 Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Nemesis at Alton Towers. And what a ride that was!
rolercstrluvr Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Top Gun at CGA, still one of my favorites. Short and sweet with a grey-out helix.
simaticable Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Georgia Scorcher several years ago. Such a great way to end the Stand-Up coaster era. Short, sweet, intense, smooth, and to the point, it sure is one of my favorite coasters of all time.
larrygator Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Not 100% certain, but probably Batman:The Ride at SFGAdv
Her0ofLime Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 ^^ Same, nice short-ish ride. Definitely good suited for the area.
SharkTums Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Kumba at Busch Gardens. Opening year...I was terrified as I didn't like coaster much back them. That ride is pretty much what changed me into a real coaster enthusiast!
rctneil Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Nemesis at Alton Towers. It was a very busy day and we visited with friends and they pestered and pestered me to ride it, me refusing all day and eventually I gave in and not looked back since.
simon8899 Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Demonen at Tivoli Copenhagen - more punch than most B&M coasters due to its compact layout, still one of my fav B&Ms as most of them lack Gs for my taste...
DougMJr Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Raptor at CP. Had a great ride on it too. It ran very very well that day.
Top Thrill Dragster Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Alpengeist. Rode it opening year.
dippindotsguy8 Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I'm 90% sure it was Montu, but there's a chance it was Kumba. Those two coasters were my "gateway" rides into the enthusiast world, as they were the first two big/intense coasters I had ever ridden.
Philrad71 Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I'm pretty sure mine was Shock Wave (stand up) when it was at Great Adventure back in the early 90's...can't say I was overly impressed.
oriolat Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Dragon Khan in 1999. To be honest I was terrified of going upside down and my biggest ride til then had been Stampida. But my friends decided to ride Khan, so I thought "join the queue with them and then ditch them last minute!". Boy my plan went wrong and I ended up trapped in last row. I'll never forget that first ride, and that was what definitely got me hooked for life!
larrygator Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I'm pretty sure mine was Shock Wave (stand up) when it was at Great Adventure back in the early 90's...can't say I was overly impressed. I stand corrected, Shockwave was my first. I completely forget about that coaster.
YoshiFan Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Great Bear, August 2005. I had ridden my first SLC Great Nor'Easter a couple of weeks before that and I couldn't believe the difference between a B&M invert and the SLC.
