robbalvey
Is this ride they're trying to save even any good? It's "historic" - I'd say it's not quite as good as Blackpool's Big Dipper.
ParkTrips
^ LOL, um, who cares, right? I mean, ITS OLD!!! It was pretty lame. Below-average for similar rides

Meteornotes
Is this ride they're trying to save even any good? Not really. It was just "OK". If it was still operating today, no one would be talking about it except enthusiasses that never leave Ohio. You would think with all the people so upset over the status of this ride that they'd be showing their bile to the ones responsible: Cedar Fair. After all, they're the ones that shut the park down. But doing that might not get them ERT at Coastermania, so they'll all be quiet on that front. This whole situation reminds me of a bunch of kids sitting around and thinking they can run a theme park because they beat a RCT scenario. These two have clearly bitten off more than they can chew, and instead of stepping up, they're going to hide behind fake twitter accounts and cry that they're being "attacked". Again, my cats would do a better job, and they sleep for twenty hours a day. dt Edited October 7, 2010 by Meteornotes

pianojohn
If the people behind savethebigdipper.org would spend the same amount of time trying to really save the coaster verses the time they spend making up fake Twitter accounts, they may actually accomplish something. The latest fake ones: http://twitter.com/#!/robbalvey http://twitter.com/#!/TPRetarded Really? And we're the ones being immature! I say Robb sues them for defamation of character and use the winnings to torch the Big Dipper once and for all. And I was one of the people who rode this coaster growing up in Ohio. The real villian here is Cedar Fair for letting this coaster rot and die. Shame on you.

larrygator
Is this ride they're trying to save even any good? If you put it up against all the other operating wooden coasters in Ohio, it might be the best one. But that is not saying much.

BigDipper 80
KABOOM! That was the sound of the interwebs exploding all because of a wooden coaster. I'm going to sit back now and see how this ends. Edited October 7, 2010 by BigDipper

robbalvey
Still fun. Robb gonna make some more parodies of them in the near future since they obviously don't get the first one? Nah, I think we're done. We've made our point, and actually helped them in the process (if they could even figure that out). We have a website to run, updates to post, DVDs to produce, and trips to put together. Regardless of our parody efforts, which still amuses me that they still think is a "scam", I don't think anything we did was going to change anyone's mind that the group has no clue as to what they are doing. I mean, how do you not buy a .com domain??? Something so simple, so cheap, and SO IMPORTANT to establishing any sort of credibility. If you didn't see the disclaimer at the bottom of Prince Desmond's site it says this: This is a parody of http://www.savethebigdipper.org Let this be a lesson to the webmasters of that site that if a .com is available BUY IT before someone else does. The Twitter and the Facebook pages were just icing on the cake! We spent probably about $15 and 30 minutes on the entire effort. And look at how much buzz it generated. I don't care if it's negative press for the .org site, negative press for us, here's what it DID ACCOMPLISH - EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT! Yeah, sure the ITL latenight guys might be call us assholes, the .org people might be getting all defensive, but so what? EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT! You know what was going on prior to our parody and comments on this site? NO ONE WAS TALKING ABOUT!!! So after all the dust clears I think we were successful with two things: 1. Making people laugh 2. Creating awareness for the Big Dipper effort And to those people who disagree with what we did? Meh, you can't make everyone happy all the time, no matter how hard you try. Seems like we gave people some great entertainment for at least 24 hours. That's more than I can say for Kat & Kiwi. Were we being mean-spirited or malicious? No. Not at all. Were were being funny? ABSOLUTELY! And some people may not have gotten the joke or found it funny, that's fine. I don't find all comedians funny...can't stand Bill Cosby, for example, but many people love him! And I'll say it yet again, we have nothing against saving the Big Dipper, as so many people accuse us of, but I *do* take issue with Kat & Kiwi and their lack of any apparent plans to do something about it, yet trying to convince everyone that they do. The parody was just us poking fun. I mean, when you leave your dot com WIDE OPEN like that, how can we not that that opportunity! --Robb Edited October 7, 2010 by robbalvey

Ccron10
This has been probably the best week on TPR. And for the site getting defensive, maybe they should watch more movies from the Scary Movie franchise? Essentialy this is kind of what the .com site is. Speaking of which, If there was one of these made for this whole thing, it would be epic!
