nannerdw Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 This kind of reminds me of a giant Pax Wild Train with a launch.
CorkscrewFoley Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 ^YES! That's what I was thinking too. Is it me, or is that one turn facing outwards instead of inwards (hence the PAX reference).
pixelated85 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 i'm not sure i've ever seen such a steep, curved incline as this one's first hill. maybe it's just the angle of the photos.. i don't know. looking forward to some raw POV footage of it in action.
ebl Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Isn't Happy Valley getting an S&S 4th Dimension, or is that a different park in China? Â Eric
atem122 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 ^That's Dinosaur Park in some other part of China. I can't quite remember where.
NeoSporin Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I'm still impressed that S&S has been able to diversify the company as much as they have without turning out complete crap for coasters and thrill rides... similar to the diversity in Intamin's products but with fewer failures in my opinion. And this thing looks more than decent
Ledgy Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 It looks VERY short. TPR Best of China Trip 2012!  That will be another Trip where you can count me in! Oh my, seems I won´t never come to america, while doing the rest of the world of coasters but I can´t resist
Kooky Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 another nice testing video, directly filmed beside the launch: http://www.56.com/u77/v_NTI4MzAzMzg.html ...the launch and the tophat were really looking awesome!
netdvn Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I'm still impressed that S&S has been able to diversify the company as much as they have without turning out complete crap for coasters and thrill rides... similar to the diversity in Intamin's products but with fewer failures in my opinion. And this thing looks more than decent  Actually S&S has had a ton of failures and delays (Ring Racer anyone?) its just that they build fewer rides. If they had built just as many rides as Intamin, chances are they'd have just as many problems.
matteocrepaldi Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 ...without turning out complete crap for coasters and thrill rides... Â Two words: SEQUOIA ADVENTURE.
Shavethewhales Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I don't know of this deserves a separate thread or not, but I found it interesting that there's another S&S launched similar to the Beijing installation in Shenzhen. http://rcdb.com/9442.htm?p=0 Â Is it a clone? I didn't look to closely, and there aren't too many photos, but it appears to have a similar first hill and short layout.
let1gre Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 ^ From the first post. Apparently the Shenzhen version will have a different layout too. Â Similar, yes, a clone, I don't think so. I'm thinking this is like the Busch Gardens parks with SheiKra and Griffon and before that, Montu and Alpengeist. Each get a "sister" coaster of the same general type with a slightly different, but similar, layout.
Fooz Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 From RCDB about the shenzhen launcher: Â Â Â Â WOW! Look at the contours of that hill! Completely insane! Could S&S get their reliability issues ironed out and become a major name in high profile thrill rides this decade?
disneyfan1313 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 ^ Wow! That does look awesome! I have to admit I am a bit nervous about the finished product but it really does look like it could be an amazing ride.
davisal771 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 ^^ Something about that turn just doesn't feel right to me...
redfoot12 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I'm skeptical. Hypersonic may have scarred me. I know that the feedback for PowderKeg is good but that has a totally different layout and does not reach speeds of other Thrust-Air coasters.
jynx242 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 My personal experience alone, Powder Keg IS good. When we went on it during the Middle America trip, everyone who got off of it said, "S&S REALLY needs to build more of these." Â Hopefully, these are the long-awaited answer to Powder Keg. Â D.
redfoot12 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 ^Maybe a trip to China will heal my scars?
atem122 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 ^^ Something about that turn just doesn't feel right to me... It's not really much different than this...
davisal771 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 ^ I just realized I was looking at the turn wrong. I thought the part on the right led into the turn
jynx242 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 ^Maybe a trip to China will heal my scars? Â Definitely! If not the S&S Launcher - I'm sure there is some Ancient Chinese Recipe to help.
TXman308 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 New pictures of extreme rusher (Beijing) have been posted up at RCDB. Â http://www.rcdb.com/9140.htm?p=0 Â Never realized the curve in the under-water part of the coaster. Â P.S. When is this thing going to open!!!!!!!
The SETGO Guys Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Beautiful Coaster! (anyone else see the pic of the water dummy sexdoll on RCDB) Â Zachary
coasterlover420 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I think it's funny how there are certain things about this ride that remind me of B&M and certain things about it that remind me of Intamin...hmmm  It seems like they're the only two companies who really got it right, and all the others are out of options. I do like the looks of this coaster a lot, though! I hope these new S&S coasters turn our really smooth and exciting!
