boldikus
That coaster better have a damn good lighting package to bring that bad boy to even MORE life!! At least have lighting on the trains or on the grounds amongst the coaster to really bring in that "devil" vibe. I know they won't do it, but a guy can dream lol. For the love of god no. This ride is in one of the darkest areas of the park, they need to just do what they usually do an leave it dark AF so the night rides are as good as (or even better than) Nitro. There will be lights up the lift, which is in the middle of the ride. Hopefully they just leave it at that. I'm praying they leave some of the trees and don't just clear out the entire area before construction.
B&MIntaminGCI
I was more than surprised by this coaster. I was not expecting something this big or this long to be put in. I am so ready for 2020 and now there’s another big swinger by Nitro It’s also very weird they don’t consider the Raven Dive an inversion. I definitely think it classifies as one, weird. Canobie Coaster
Can we take a moment to appreciate that Great Adventure may now have the two best drops in the country? The violent ejector air of El Toro's drop was matched by the original Raptor clones. And now that Jersey Devil has a 50% longer train, I'm already salivating over the power of that airtime in the back row. That coaster better have a damn good lighting package to bring that bad boy to even MORE life!! Genx24
What excellent news to wake up to. Count me amongst those that want to keep it dark back there; night rides are going to be a blast.
boldikus
I almost feel like they are kinda underselling this coaster. That they're just saying "5 elements with 2 inversions" *sounds* a little underwhelming, no? The video mentions the angle of descent but not the height or speed. Where are the "X moments of weightlessness" claims? Why don't the turnarounds have some funky RMC names? Stupid things to gripe about, I know but I guess that's a good thing. This ride looks so insane, I almost can't even believe its happening. You know what else is cool? If they don't wait until spring to start construction, we'll be able to watch progress during HITP via Nitros lift.

In all seriousness, lighting package or not (expecting not), this looks like the perfect new coaster for SFGAdv. Checks all the boxes for them. I expect the raven dive and the drop off the turnaround over the station to be highlights if Railblazer is any indication.
coasterbill
I'm thrilled. Great Adventure's coaster lineup is already ridiculous and this has the potential to be one of the best rides in the park. As Boldy said, I'm also thrilled that it will probably be a Holiday in the Park ride since that's usually when we visit the most. I can't wait. I have not ridden one of these yet so the only thing that concerns me is capacity. This park gets super crowded in the summer and overly crowded during Fright Fest. This ride will probably have similar capacity to Kingda Ka and Joker. Honestly it might even be better. jamesinclair
Very excited to finally get a new coaster. Super excited that it's a type I've never been on. LOVE that it's an original name and not another comic book repeat. Worried about capacity. Slightly disappointed that it's not a racing coaster like Twisted Colossus. RCjunkie
An RMC raptor track that is not a clone and 3000 feet long? . OK, you got me! >.
thrillseeker4552
This is great! I'm happy to see SFGAdv get a brand new, custom coaster since the last one was in 2006. The layout looks great and knowing how Wonder Woman and Railblazer run, this thing will HAUL. I'm also glad to see 12-seat trains. This combined with a MCBR (hopefully meaning 4-train operation if there is a continuous station) should give it a slight capacity edge over the other RMC Raptors. Superbatboy
YESRMC has to be the best teaser campaign Six Flags has ever done. The ride looks phenomenal, glad they upped the capacity a bit.

thedlr
I kind of like the idea that as each raptor gets taller, the trains get longer lol.

Canobie Coaster
Cool that they posted this on their Instagram stories. I agree. It's awesome they shared the answers! Can we take a moment to appreciate that Great Adventure may now have the two best drops in the country? Can we wait until the coaster opens? Fair point. If the drop has anymore whip from the longer train than the other two Raptors, I think this will come true.
larrygator
I almost feel like they are kinda underselling this coaster. That they're just saying "5 elements with 2 inversions" *sounds* a little underwhelming, no? but THREE WORLD RECORDS Ten thoughts: 1 Love the name and theme. I've seen more than once person post that they don't like the name because it remind them of the hockey team. The Jersey Devil is local folklore that goes back over a century, as a Philadelphian who has always spent summers at the Jersey shore (and traversed the Jersey Pine Barrens to get there and back) I've been hearing about that little creep in the woods my entire life. Everyone around here is digging the theme, its a long time coming for this park. Here's to hoping there at least some story boards in the queue about the creature/legend. 2 Three birds with one stone. Shuts up the "we need an RMC" whiners, the "we haven't had an original coaster since Toro" whiners, and the "we only get DC themed rides" whiners. 3 The park teased it would be "legendary and monstrous" and the Jersey Devil is both of those things. 4 RIP best bathroom in the park. Even if they keep it (and from the rendering looks like they will), its gonna be mobbed for the foreseeable future. Meh. If there is one negative thing about this addition, that's it. 5 This thing is big. Looks like this goes from almost Skull Mountain all the way down past the rapids. In other words, its huge. I'm wondering how much (or if all) if Safari Kids is going? Or moving? 6 Capacity. The dirty C word. Twelve passenger trains, hopefully continuously-moving loading, and it looks like we have a midcourse. If WWGLC has no midcourse and can run 3 trains, we get 4 trains then? 7 Its safe to assume this will run during HITP. Let me hear the people in the back say hell yeah. 8 This thing looks absolutely sick. I love how the final bunnyhops look like they have a little outerbank to them. 9 Night rides back here, yall. Night rides! Hopefully they'll keep some of the trees around the ride. 10 We're totally getting a new kids area in 2021. I'm with you on 9 out of 10. I always liked the bathroom but felt creepy using it, like it should only be for kids. Edited August 29, 2019 by larrygator

I had never heard of the Jersey Devil until someone mentioned it as a possible theme for this ride, and as soon as I looked it up, I thought that absolutely should be the theme. Glad they did it! Also makes sense why El Diablo was taken out. Your #2 point is on point! 7 & 9 might just tempt me into dragging my a$$ from cold Ohio to cold Jersey during the holidays. 10 We're totally getting a new kids area in 2021. Are you willing to bet your other foot on that? I mentioned it before, but I'll just close by mentioning it again: What an excellent, and fun teasing campaign by GAdv this was! Kudos to them and their marketing department for this fantastic lead-up, and reveal! Even though it leaked a little early, they still did a great job of keeping it under wraps, especially in comparison to Candymonium, Pantheon, and Orion, three of the other top 2020 coasters announced. I know it's popular to give SF crap in enthusiast circles, but I think once again they did a great job with all of their additions this year, led by this crown jewel of a coaster! 100% agree! I saw the leak of this last night, but given the fact that literally everyone was confused and intrigued af until the day before the announcement really says something given how badly-kept secrets the other big announcements this year have been. So even though the scramble wasn't "supersecrecy," it really should have been because they did a great job on that front! I'm glad they posted the answers to the clues on their Instagram! I didn't see them answering what the number "12" was supposed to mean. 13 would make sense (13th child, 13 stories) but unless I missed something, I'm not sure where the 12 comes from. EDIT: someone on Twitter mentioned maybe 12 for the 12 cars per train? What do you all think?
boldikus
^ 12 passenger trains! ^^ That bathroom was always clean and always freezing cold in summer or heated in winter. And since basically no one knew it was back there it was almost always empty. I'll miss being able to quickly pop over there during HITP Nitro marathons this year! Also I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere but its actually kind of cool that its 13 stories since 13 is considered a bad or unlucky number. It goes nicely with the theme. DoinItForTheFame
WHOA!!! This is probably my favorite addition for 2020! This thing looks insane!
