cfc Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 ^Bringing back Rebel Yell's running lights would be great.
Coaster_Fanatic Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Things are looking fantastic. I'm really looking forward to Volcano's station upgrade. Hopefully the new queue section won't make the station feel so terribly cramped.
cfc Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 ^Heck, I'd be happy if they swept up the decade's worth of dust bunnies.
coasterfreak101 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Running lights would be amazing, but turning that second side backwards again would really make the ride so much better. I don't think there's anything I miss more than backwards Rebel Yell.
Lareson Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Because of how closely Cedar Fair follows manufacturer's recommendations, we will probably never see any of their racing coasters ever turned around backwards again. PTC even stated themselves that theirs trains are designed to run forward and not recommended to be turned around backwards. Of course since they're just recommendations, not actual requirements, companies can still turn them around backwards, i.e. Six Flags, and can run them fine, or they think they can. That would be why Colossus' Morgan trains can't be turned around and why they have to use those extremely heavy B&M trains when they run it backwards.
coasterfreak101 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Maybe one day we'll see a little RMC love - I'm thinking a nice 50th birthday present would be topper track and a couple new trains.

With the way the legal system is now, no park in their right mind would go against manufacturer recommendation. States with laws that regulate ride safety wouldn't even allow them to open if they were not following the manufacturers recommendations.
CPSFMMCW Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Maybe one day we'll see a little RMC love - I'm thinking a nice 50th birthday present would be topper track and a couple new trains. Yeah, but heres what I'm wondering. So if Cedar Fair is having RMC retracking a lot of their coasters and they see how popular they're becoming, I wonder why Cedar Fair hasn't requested that an inverting woodie be sent to one of their parks. I think that an RMC would be a better 50th Birthday present than a rebel yell retracking. KD did state that the celebration would start in 2014.
coasterfreak101 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 ^I just meant for Rebel Yell's 50th in 2025! Which, to be fair, is only a year after the park's 50th.
boughtontroy Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Looks like KD almost finish re-painting the Anaconda coaster Â
BotanicalStig Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 That actually looks a whole lot better, I didn't think there was any saving that color scheme. I actually like Anaconda, it's one of the smoother arrows around and the hangtime in the corkscrews is a lot of fun.
CPSFMMCW Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Wow! Looking sharp! I actually hate the anaconda and would've rather them just tear it down so they could use the space for a nice B&M, but since we're stuck with it, at least its looking better. But I still would've preffered a different new color scheme, other than the old one. I'm not a fan of two red coasters right next to each other.
Hugecoltsfan Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Here's a picture of the station for Volcano. Notice anything different?
megametal Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Entrance gates are on the opposite side now, right?
smallpox Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Here's a picture of the station for Volcano. Notice anything different? Â er, load in is from the opposite side now I guess ... that oughta boost capacity by about uh... hm.
Philrad71 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Looks like KD almost finish re-painting the Anaconda coaster  Leftover paint from I-305?  Not a huge fan myself as Anaconda's are not orange and red, but then again, probably not too many of the GP would know what color an anaconda is anyway.  Maybe they are going to rename it Copperhead or Coral Snake?
cfc Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I would rather they rename it "Gone." Â But there are some who profess to like Anaconda. More power to them.
Rollercoaster Rider Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 You think Cedar Fair is going to licence it to the Amanda Seyfried Movie? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gone_(film)_2012 Â Â Sorry I couldn't resist.
Coaster_Fanatic Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Two coasters with red and yellow in their color schemes don't look that great next to each other...but Anaconda still looks great nonetheless. Glad KD is giving it a little bit of TLC.
SuperShawn Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I would rather they rename it "Gone." Â Agreed! Though as long as they are keeping the ride around, it's nice to see it and the little things in the park getting some good attention.
cfc Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 ^Yeah, I guess it may as well look pretty while it beats you senseless.
Jman0477 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 The Volcano pic those are the exit gates aren't they? to the gift shop? If you look down the picture that is the end of the ride the curve after the final breaks?
CPSFMMCW Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Here's a picture of the station for Volcano. Notice anything different? Yes, a whole lot actually. This is my home park, so looks like they are making a lot of changes to the station! Loading gate is on the opposite side, so I wonder if now you will exit through the original entrance. I'm interested in seeing how much the capacity is changed. Hopefully it will be like they say, and it will be better!
Koasterking48 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I actually like Anaconda, it's one of the smoother arrows around and the hangtime in the corkscrews is a lot of fun. I don't know what Anaconda you're riding. That second half is brutal and poorly designed.
