PeoplemoverMatt Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Oh yes...SO riding this in a few weeks!!! The only part that concerns me is the landing when the seats rotate back to sitting position. That might be a bit jarring.

glouthan Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Oh yes...SO riding this in a few weeks!!! The only part that concerns me is the landing when the seats rotate back to sitting position. That might be a bit jarring. To me, it looks like it would be fun! Intamin rides are generally very smooth, with no lurching. Your judgement is as good as mine at this point, so we will have to wait and see.
JonnyRCT3 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 To me, it looks like the momentum of the free fall is converted into positive G-forces. It should feel the same as 'landing' on any other drop ride.
glouthan Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 ^You're right - that does make sense now that I think about it. That's going to be a lot of positive G for a drop tower!
thepoint4life23 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I was at the park today. I could not see what was going on behind the wall. They were taking the latch or catch car not sure what you would call it, up and down really slow like 20 minutes or longer to go from top to bottom. As I was leaving the park the car was half way up the tower with with the seats facing down. Kinda looks like they were making everything was not rubbing

SuperShawn Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Going to have to get back to BGT and ride this, though as soon as those seats tilt nothing but expletives are coming out of my mouth.
rcjp Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 ^That's the spirit And it always makes the experience funnier for other people.
RCT3Bross Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Alright need to go America soon after seeing that POV. Too bad it takes years before I have a chance to ride it. Man looks good.
Devious Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 To me, it looks like the momentum of the free fall is converted into positive G-forces. It should feel the same as 'landing' on any other drop ride. Judging by the design of the gondola, you're probably the most correct. It seems like the cars will pivot outward in a manner not much different than an invert pulling out from a vertical loop, rather than the cars on something like a 4D.
ka8911 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Headed over to Busch yesterday afternoon. Took a few pics with my iPhone. Enjoy! They were working on a cool Falcon topiary. Ride sign looks nice. New stands look quite nice. Also what looks to be a fountain in the middle of the picture. Stopped by the new Twisted Tails Pretzels in Pantopia. I just had to get a bacon pretzel with beer infused cheese. It was pretty darn good! The new show "Burn the Floor: Untapped" is now running at the Desert Grill. This flamenco inspired dance show is a lot of fun! I took a ride on the skyride, and was surprised when I got over Rhino Rally. They were driving the trucks through the course, and running through load/unload procedures. Looks like they're getting ready to open for the summer. That's all for now, thanks for reading!
jray21 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Thanks for the report, that pretzel looks really good! As for Falcon's Fury POV, holy crap! That's going to be an amazing drop!
coasterbill Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Great pictures. I can't wait to get back to this park.
tarheel1231 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I thought Falcon's Fury was supposed to open yesterday. Did it?
glouthan Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 ^To my knowledge, no. There have been some technical difficulties with the rotating seats, which is expected since it is a prototype ride.
scbt Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 (edited) Saw this on reddit at /r/rollercoasters - apparently Cheetah Hunt now has a splashdown! Edited May 4, 2014 by scbt
kailisun98 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Wow... Thats flooded... Aren't there supposed to be drains though?
cwgator Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 From my understanding the area got 8+ inches of rain and the park never opened today because of it. There were cars in nearby parking lots almost completely under water.
_koppen Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 It breaks my heart every time I see a flooded coaster! Good thing it's made of steel though.
rcjp Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Can we still ride it like that? Now, seriously. That's an impressive amount of water
Jay20016 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Can we still ride it like that? Now, seriously. That's an impressive amount of water And a very unimpressive drainage solution...
