netdvn
^ SF has been pretty good with construction projects lately. I recall Terminator, Daredevil Dive, and both Green Lantern coasters going up quickly. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take that long for X-Flight to come up. TPDave
Interesting that they are getting the track a lot later than Dollywood, maybe they paid more or something Can't wait to see this one go up, I want to see how the "THORPE PARK" inversion looks on the other side of the pond! Bryce232
^It's because Dollywood's coaster is opening in March, this one is opening in May/June so its schedule is exceptionally two months separate from Wild Eagle. In my opinion, this Wing-rider looks to be the most thrilling of the three being built next year, so I'm excited to see vertical construction finally start! TPDave
Aah yes, I forgot about the whole Six Flags late opening thing! I like the theming (and hand/foot/head choppers) on Thorpe's one but I'm excited to see this too Dave

Moose
It looks like they are still doing foundation work, I assume this won't go up nearly as quickly as Dolly's did where all the foundation work was seemingly done before track started arriving on site. Mr. Coaster
I have my doubts about it going up super quickly. This is an entirely new ride concept and Six Flags may have some trouble with it. Either way i'm still excited!
Jojo19799
One thing to consider here folks: weather. This is the Chicagoland area. Anything can happen weather wise. We got one heck of a snow storm last year, and who knows what we're in for this year. They'll get as much done as possible while the weather allows it. X-Flight is slated to open Memorial Day weekend, and the park does have a pretty good history of opening their rides on time. Well minus that one snafu called Deja Vu. Weather will make or break an opening date, and they're calling for a brutal winter in that area IIRC. I have faith that they'll get it open on schedule, maybe even ahead with how fast coasters go up these days, but it all depends on the weather. BuddyChrist
and how the contractor works in that weather. Yeah, they'd need some guys that are good in the snow. I know of a few useful guys that fell on hard times after their last gig kind of fell apart.
coasterlover420
It's kind of bizarre seeing B&M track without a crazy high heartline. I like it!

deathbydinn
The park posted a few new photos that give a good overview of the construction site and you can see how much this has really changed the midway. Link
Bryce232
This park sure loves yellow and red coasters Hopefully vertical construction will start soon, so far both of the completed 2012 Wing riders look amazing. I'm sure this one won't disappoint either. It looks, in my opinion, to be the most thrilling of the three opening next year.
Cole
Sort of weird to see its station, but no Iron Wolf in this picture.
XYZ
^They really need to put something in the Iron Wolf location, that section of the park looks empty.
deathbydinn
^ There's a flat, food stands, and train station right next to IW, so it's not totally empty. Something will go there eventually, but it'll sit empty next year. I just hope they make some effort to clean it up and not leave it abandoned like SWF.
