Im hoping for surprise themeing... SFGAm always makes their rides look nice & goes out more than I expect so Im hoping for some interesting que rails thatll fit the military Xplane hanger look... I dont know what Im saying but as for the trains, I dont see lights happening though that would be sick Im so excited for this coaster. That red/black looks so great in the park, esp in that area, it pops!!

Which stealth planes have you been looking at?!! They are all black!

 

 

Although I must admit, I'm looking forward to seeing this complete! And coming from the UK, its nice to see a coaster that isn't dull grey (gray) being built this year!

Well, they got some of X-Flight up before the snow hit! Hopefully the area will see a milder winter so that progress isn't delayed.

I was watching them for a few minutes earlier in the day, and there were over 20 workers walking around. Not sure what they were doing, but I doubt the snow will delay them. This is Chicago, after all!

Exactly, the park already has a red roller coaster ( superman) i just thought it would look cool dark blue OR black! !! But i guess red is okay!

I love the sexy red/black but I would have to agree blue/black or grey would have been appealing for a different color in the park since Shockwave.

I think that's what I'm trying to say i think they should paint batman dark blue so it can even out the color in that area!

Oh God, dont get me started on what I call "yellow square" ... we have hometown square & then yellow square, our collection of yellow coasters in one area!! haha Id rather Vertical velocity be painted an electric blue or somethin ... hell, give it Goliath at SFFT's paint job. Itll still have yellow in it, but those two colors would be bold & "electrifying" to the area. RaginCajun's colors I think fit & I oddly like the combination. BTR... Im just worried for them to repaint it AGAIN is all. If it were to happen This would be rad(without the yellow haha)..... http://www.rcdb.com/1886.htm?p=0

No one besides us coaster geeks notices we have three yellow coasters in the same area of the park. I don't think any coasters need a new paint job just for the sake of "changing things up".

The general public sometimes confuses the tracks of same colored coasters next to each other, but that really doesn't concern me. I never quite understand why enthusiasts even care except they like being know-it-alls.

Haha, yellow square. But that area causes major confusion. Once i told my friend to meet me at V2,the yellow one. He said hold on THERE ALL YELLOW !!!!! LOL

^^Yup. Like X2 and Viper at SFMM. Heck, even when I know what each coaster looks like, sometimes similarly colored ones blend together for me, too, especially in pictures. Not a big deal if I can readily figure it out.

Hmm, pretty interesting to see everything on a map. If it does turn out to be accurate, it looks like the exit walkway will give some nice shots of the coaster. Also cool to see the hangar and keyhole element so close to the entrance!

I also notice that the queue for American Eagle is shifted, and then Dare Devil Dive was rotated. I really hope the area looks really nice, and the Xtreme Passes seem pretty interesting as well.

Scheduled to open May 12th

Railroad will go under X-Flight twice

Xtreme Pass holders get ERT May 12th 9:00-10:00am (Xtreme Pass details below)

There will be other effects in addition to the control tower fly-through including a water element

Attitudes will be transformed into X-Gear

Leather Xcessories will be another merchandise location near X-Flight's entrance

 

 

General Updates

 

Johnny Rockets Shakes & Fries (that's the one by Demon) will become Totally Kickin' Chicken

Tap House will feature draft beer and snacks where Granny's Kitchen was last year in County Fair Food Court

Andre's Hand-Dipped Corndogs will replace Ted's Coney Island in County Fair Food Court

Six Flags Outfitters will replace Harry's Magic in Mardi Gras

Merchandise will continue to expand the line of park specific products including a second Whizzer shirt design

 

Hurricane Harbor will add Flash Pass. This will use an waterproof electronic wristband that will countdown to zero when you can slide. They will modify stairways to accommodate this.

 

Fright Fest

The event will be expanded again. The park is looking at possibly utilizing both Roaring Rapids and Hurricane Harbor. No specifics yet.
