Are you a Screamer, Laugher or WHOOPer?

I have my hands up most of the time, and I guess I'm a "woo!"er and a "yeah!"er. I've found when it comes to a unexpected intense part of a ride that I'm not familiar with, I'll let out a "ohmyfreakinggod!" followed by a laugh and a "woo!". Hahahaha.

I'm relatively quiet, except for the occasional "ouch" or "whoa".

Those responses pretty much sum me up. I just enjoy the wind in my face and a fun ride.

Most of the time, I yell "YEAH!" with an occaisional "Whoa!" or "Oh My God!" if something is more intense than I think it will be (There were a pot of those on Maverick, believe me).

 

On rough coasters, and specifically Iron Wolf, it was pretty much the Manhattan Express video. I was swearing the whole ride while my friend next to me cracked up laughing. There was even a "why the **** was that the smoothest part of the ride" moment during the corkscrew, and that was before I had seen the video.

I like to react vocally. I'm definitely a Whooper/Yeaher, but I'll just say whatever comes in mind, whether it be "Holy Sh*t, Oh yeah Baby, etc). For rough coasters, I will sometimes say "OMG, I'm going to die", "My Neck!", "Why did we ride this?" etc. I just enjoy myself, being silent is just too boring and sterile.

I like yelling random things . At the Wave at ValleyFair I rember yelling "Remember the Alamo" for no apparent reason. I don't know why I do it, but it happens.

I dont really understand screaming on coasters unless you are truely scared of falling out, like when the operator of a SDC Galixi at *cough* Canobie Lake *cough* forgets to pull down your lap bar. I get a video of us on the ride going up and pulled it down at the last moment before the drop. It freaked my mom out she started screaming at me "Matt! Pull the restraint down or your going to die!!!"

 

I usually just hold my hands up and "wohoo!" and laugh.

I'm the quiet person on the train the sits there trying and trying and trying to get air-time, and also is focusing on the track so I don't throw up after (motion sickness).

That pretty much sums me up. I have caught myself making some strange noises going down main first drops!

When I experience an intense sensation on a coaster (big drops, launches, etc.) I sort of unconsciously make this really weird "HOOOOOO!" sound. The interesting thing is that I can only make that noise when I'm on a coaster, and it's sort of sucked out of me by the intense sensations (most drops over 80 feet tall will do it, as well as launches and inversions).

 

On a smaller coaster where I can keep it under control I'll usually just stay quiet. Starting around my Ohio trip (about 70 coasters ridden) I've noticed I'm not doing it as much as I used to. In fact, at times, it seems like I could almost do an onride commentary.

 

I don't think I've ever screamed that high pitch girly scream unless it was during a really intense maneuver like Tatsu's Pretzel Loop and I don't think I ever would otherwise.

I'm an "Oh Sh*t!" kind of guy. The only rides I still get butterflies in my stomach and still get freaked out on are drop towers and skycoasters.

I have a fear of heights so I freak out mentally on lift hills.

 

On drops, I let out a big yell at the top of the drop and suddenly my face freezes throughout the rest of the drop.

 

On inversions, I'm more of a "woo" person.

I'm actually more of a "Woooo! Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Bring it to me! Yeah Baby!! Yeaaaaaahhh! Who's yo' daddy!?!Wooooooooooooooyayayayayayayayayayaayayayayaaaaaaa! Ahhhhahahahahaha!!!!!!!! SWEET! I occasionally let out a "whoo" on the first drops of coasters. But other than that, I just sit silently with my hands up and enjoy the ride.

I'm mainly shouting "YEAH!" and stuff like that...only when I'm with people I know. When I ride solo, I'm usually silent, with that coaster grin on my face. I usually keep hands up until I get tired of holding them. I don't hold 'em up on lifts however...that's just plain silly!

I'm actually a talker. When I'm riding with a friend, my friend and I will just talk the entire time, then laugh if we hear a really funny scream. Sometimes, I'll let out a "WHOO!", but mostly a talker.

I'm a "wheeeeeeeeee!" person. Sometimes I let out a "Yeah!" when going through a segment of intense gs. I've also done the classic southern thing of "Yeehaw!" on multiple drops and inversions. On some of the more calm coasters, like most woodens, I've been known to talk to my friends.

I usually don't intentionally say much, other than maybe talking to whoever happens to be riding with me (Usually my wife, or one of our kids) during the lift. I do often find myself laughing during rides and I may occasionally let out a "Whoa!" if some particular part of a ride catches me by surprise.

 

This is pretty uncharacteristic of me, but one time I yelled out, "Someone get me a spinal surgeon" during the final brake run on Ghostrider. The entire train burst in laughter. It was pretty funny. I was actually half serious though.

 

My wife, who is usually relatively quiet on rides, laughed hysterically while, and after, riding Psyclone at SFMM. Upon returning to the station and seeing nobody in the queue, she insisted on re-riding. The kids went back on with her while my sister and I politely declined and waited for them, only to see them come back to the station and insist on riding yet again. I'm pretty sure the ride gave them brain damage.
