Ape Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I've only been on firehawk and I am rarely willing to wait in line for it because it moves so slow. I do think though of the coasters I've been on (which isn't many compared to a lot of you) it has one of the coolest feelings of any coaster qhen you're heading up the loop. Makes me giggle like a little kid every time.
Vonni Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 It was crazy how fast construction was moving, but it seems since they put up the Zero G Roll it has significantly slowed down. I wonder what caused the decrease in pace?
SFOGdude25 Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I think focus has shifted to the station. I forget where it was posted, but Kings Island posted a picture of the foundation for the station being layed down.
Vonni Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I didnt think about that. I guess I assumed the Station work had been completed already. Well, judging from what I've seen in pics, the Batwing should be started by at least the end of the week, maybe a little sooner.

I wonder what caused the decrease in pace? It seemed like it stalled out at the end of the season. I think they were using the construction as effective advertising to bring people back to the park next year. Or maybe they caught up to B&M's production.
Brassinthegrass Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 that is possible, but I feel like we saw the lack of concrete being pored. That onto of a small cold snap may have slowed construction until the cement could cure. the Zerro G is up (and shows how much farther down the hill this thing goes that I realized! Hope to get to Ohio to ride it soon
GigaG Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I'm not sure why we're talking about flyers but I'll throw my 2 cents in. I think the Vekoma flying coasters are miles ahead of the Superman clones which are some of the most boring adult steel coasters on the planet. I'll never understand the popularity of these coasters but the lines are always huge. I don't hate B&M flyers as a whole (I'm a huge fan of Tatsu) but those Superman clones are a snooze fest. While the Superman clones are cliche, short, and rather repetitive, the pretzel loop is intense. If anything, that part is NOT a snoozefest.
GwaziBSRider1 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 ^ I agree. Personally, I find the pretzel loop on SFOG's to be the most intense out of the ones I've ridden. I nearly greyed out at that part.
coastercoaster5 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 If you think that supermans pretzel loop is intense, you have not experienced tatsus. It is huge and insane. as for banshee, i hope the pretzel loop has some momentum because if it just creeps its way, it will not be so great. Also, i am visiting the park for the first time in late june. Does anyone know what to go to first?
Vonni Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 ^ It has been several years since I have been to KI, but from what I have read on here most say go to Firehawk first. I understand it has the slowest capacity in the Park.
Ape Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Firehawk and outter limits seem to build the longest lines. We usually do those first to get them out of the way if we don't get to them early morning we usually don't ride.
GwaziBSRider1 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Hit the low capacity ones first like Invertigo or Firehawk. Flight of Fear, Flight Deck/Bat, and Beast all get really long lines during the day, so you may want to ride those early as well. Don't miss a night ride on the Beast. You'll regret if if you do.
TheZachMan28 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Well, the bigger crane is now gone, so the smaller one will finish the job!
B.A.B Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Please tell me that I am not the only one that can't wait to see the beginning of the retheming process for Top Gun. I am just interested on what theming elements will be added to the ride. I know it won't be something spectacular and amazing, but I just wonder what theming elements will be put around the ride and hopefully on the ride.

bottom_feeder_13 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I kind of wish the grey was a little darker but it still looks much better than the old paint scheme.
B.A.B Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Wow… I didn't know that they started retheming the ride. Thanks for posting the pic!
Rollercoaster Rider Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I hope the other flight deck's get renames. Sorry, I've always hated the Flight Deck name
GwaziBSRider1 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 ^ I've never liked it either. It showed how lazy Cedar Fair was with the former Paramount parks.
Ape Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I was wondering about the bat when looking at banshees webcam couldn't tell if it was just glare for some reason or if they had started painting.
cfc Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I kind of wish the grey was a little darker but it still looks much better than the old paint scheme. Well, "aircraft carrier gray" did make sense for a ride named "Flight Deck."

Also, i am visiting the park for the first time in late june. Does anyone know what to go to first? Honestly, out of the two Superman Clones I've been on, I found their pretzel loops to be tighter and more intense. Tatsu's Pretzel loop was larger and more intimidating, but I felt like it didn't pull as many G's. I don't have a dog in this fight, period, as Superman and Tatsu are both boring to me (pretzel loop aside), and they give me nausea. As for KI, go to Firehawk first, if it's open. ^ I've never liked it either. It showed how lazy Cedar Fair was with the former Paramount parks. As opposed to Six Flags with Goliath?
Wes Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Superman's pretzel was comparable to Tatsu's for me..forces wise.

Your comparing Goliath to Flight Deck?
