In the Kings Island Thread talking about the future of Son of Beast.

Are you guys actually serious about burning it down? Son of Beast is HUGE, it would take atleast a few weeks for it to burn down. Plus it's pretty close to Top Gun and Adventure Express. Top Gun probably wouldn't have too much damage, but Adventure Express would most likely not be able to operate because it has wooden supports, and they would be burnt too. And what about wind, the fire could spread across the whole park... If you guys are being serious, you need to think of the consequences of burning down a 218' tall woodie. If your just joking, it's getting very old.

Sometimes you need to laugh at yourself, regardless of the rules. Lighten up a little? I'm sure in time I'll be posting one of my own dumb statements.

So.

This one had me kind of confused also...I hereby dub him "PLAYER" and that'll be it.

From a 17-year old "self-appointed engineer" in the Intimidator 305 thread that apparently parks should hire as a consultang because he knows more about building rides than the professionals:

I saw this problem right from the beginning. I saw it with Maverick also. All of these problems can be seen from lots of coaster enthusiasts, and other people alike. So I don't see much of an excuse on why they keep happening.

I am always amazed to discover that junior and senior high schools offer advanced degrees in:

- Engineering

- Marketing

- Business Management

And other related fields. Ah well, this nonsense keeps us entertained...

And those who do not feel it necessary to read threads before asking a question that has already been answered on multiple occasions.

Does anyone ride Intimidator with and without trims?

can you tell it what was better?

^Well take into account that thread is a train wreck and finding a good thread from someone comparing the two experiences is difficult.

Someone made a really good comparison over the weekend. I tried to find that post this morning. I waded through 15 pages of crappy posts and never found the post I was looking for.

^can we just call the last several days of that thread "dumbest things said on TPR?" I was truly agog! Yes - I just used agog in a sentence.

^/^^ I am seriously borderline traumatized by that thread. Almost to the point where I regret contributing, but it seems that my rant was benign enough that it was allowed to stay.

Maybe the coaster community needs more review sites. All the ones with decent (organized collections of) reviews I've found are disturbingly out-of-date. Are coaster reviews played out or something?

^Ride reviews seems like a fantastic idea for an eventual addition to the TPR Index. I certainly think it would be helpful for people planning park trips. I think the one problem is finding reviews that aren't biased or fan-boyish.

But oh mylanta the KD thread is a mess right now.

^Not to go overly off-topic (sorry...), but I agree that TPR would be as good a place as any! Well, probably better...

I was inspired to post that by what Larry said. Sometimes people post ride reviews or opinions (I do this a lot as it's pretty much all I'm qualified to talk about!) in the forums, but they get lost and buried. Personally, I love reading reviews so I can compare them with mine, or learn about a ride I hope to visit in the future. But TPR isn't currently a place for that, and some of the review sites don't even include rides built as far back as the late 90s! (WTF.) The problem is always either not enough reviews, too many dumb reviews, or not enough coasters included!

[/rant, which hopefully doesn't include anything to "qualify" me for this thread! ]

Theme Park Critic and Theme Park Insider were probably the two biggest ride/attraction review sites of their time.

Both sites still have reviews, but both TPI has sorta gone away from the individual ride reviews for a rating system based on numbers and TPC has pretty much gone the way of 90% of the theme park/roller coaster-related websites from the early-2000s and is pretty much an abandoned project that hasn't been updated since last year.

Pretty sad since TPC had a very comprehensive review section.

Here's a link to TPC.

The subject pretty much sums it up. Talk all you want about porn and wings here.

For me, I prefer vegan chicken wings, so I might not be able to get too in depth about that half of the conversation. However, I have seen a good amount of porn in my day, so I might be able to contribute in that aspect.

Have at it boys...... and hopefully girls!

I'm so worried that one day one of my posts will be on this thread. I have a fear of being one of the "Idiots on the TPR boards". But hey, I gotta laugh at myself sometimes.

Larrygator:

Anyone posting actual porn will be banned per TPR's Terms of Service.

GIggle.

By the way, it's not stupid in context, it's just very funny that someone had to actually consider that. No disrespect, LarryG.

This isn't from TPR (kill me), but this is still pretty awesome. First off, the thread title was "Six Flags New England is Mean!!!," and here's what the guy wrote:

Ok # 1: they said they had "big plans" for 2010 or 2011...They are only expanding the water park a little! I went and its not even that great

#2: the restraints on the bizarro were definatley broken (in my seat) because gravity was the only thing holding me in. it was like 8 inches away from me at one point!!!!!! wtf
