Carowinds Discussion Thread

P. 418: Camp Snoopy expansion announced including new family coaster

The lift is definitely steep. Doesn't appear that way because of the scale of everything. Plus the pull out looks far and drawn out... On more of the close up pics the lift looks very steep. I am very excited to ride my first B&M giga especially with those open clam shell restraints vs Intimidator's vests-like restraints. This ride looks promising and super re-rideable.

^I think B&M's lap bars are some of the best around due to the comfort and freedom they give. The only thing I'm not a fan of is how the seats are fairly reclined and you kind of "sink" into them.

Fury 325 looks fun and all, but I have to be honest, I'm much more excited to follow the progress on the new entrance plaza.

*Kills self*

This is a reasonable reaction.

^I have a feeling that that is sarcasm. Fury 325 is at the top of my to-do list next year at Carowinds, but I am very eager to try the new food offerings. Chickie's and Pete's was great, I hope Carowinds continues to improve the dining experience for guests.

I never said Fury wouldn't be a fun ride, but we've seen plenty of B&M hyper coasters go up before. Been there, done that. *yawn*

Even if no one cares, I still wanted to post this:

It's really annoying to read your posts. I am sure people appreciate progress pictures, but hearing your whining every time you post is awful.

On topic, I'm really excited for the coaster to be topped off, I think this could be one of the most beautiful lift hills to exist!

Tarheel, I certainly appreciate the updates as do many of us. With Leviathan being my #1 coaster I am mostly excited about Fury 325 next year. I will be doing a big road trip to hit Rougarou, Thunderbird, Dollywood, Carowinds, Busch and Kings Dominion. Should be an awesome trip and I will certainly get my money's worth out of my Cedar Point platinum pass!

To avoid another argument about me whining about people not caring about Fury 325 (see pages 447-450), I realize I need to delete my account. Is there any way to delete or deactivate my TPR account?

[EDIT] I read through the "Ask Alvey" thread and found out that I can only disable my account. Can one of the mods disable my account please? Thank you.

[EDIT II} Changed my mind, I'm just gonna shut up about this ridel

That is probably the better path to take.

It is fine to be excited but recognize that not everyone feels the same way. And you don't need to comment every time someone disagrees with you.

I enjoy watching the construction photos as I would for any other coaster. I really enjoyed Levi at CW so am sure that this one will be just as fun, if not more so.

Is it going to make me want to drive ten hours to ride it in 2015? Probably not, but if I am down in the area and still have my Platinum Pass, I wouldn't mind stopping in for a few rides on it. When I visited the park a couple of years ago, I felt the park needed a better signature coaster than Intimidator and now they will have it.

It's a strange postition we've reached where most of us are like "meh" when something like Fury 325 comes along, and yet from the perspective of a Brit, could you imagine the hype if that was being built at Blackpool PB or Drayton Manor? It's all relative, and just because this is more like Intimidator 305 and not an airtime machine, it's crazy (myself included) that we consider it to be lacklustre. Please keep posting updates, stay positive! Us deprived folks across the pond can only dream of getting something like this

I can't wait to ride this next year. I've been looking for an excuse to go back to Carowinds and this is more than I ever could have expected from them.

PS: I'm addicted to these live video cams, I hope they're permanent and will be re-positioned once the construction ends. I love the ones Cedar Point has and hope everyone follows their lead.

I know, right? It really is relative. As we don't have any proper coasters here I would be thrilled if there was an SLC coming to any part of the country and I'm really exited that we're getting a giga/strata here in Europe in 2016.

I'm really looking forward to this ride.

^They now have finished that support.

Man! That first drop is looking pretty fierce, and knowing B&M hypers/Leviathan, I'm sure it will feel like its going on forever. Looks like the girlfriend and I will be making a return trip there in 2015, which will be cool to see all the changes completed, as they were just starting when we were there this year. Im really excited to see the new entrance plaza as well; being a cedar point local, the Gatecreeper/entrance update was really cool to see. Better start saving for my platinum pass....

They're moving right along with the ride. I'm looking forward to seeing all the changes in the park's skyline, not to mention the new entrance.
