P. 418: Camp Snoopy expansion announced including new family coaster

I wish Carowinds would get a brand-new layout for their giga, but I'm sure it'll be awesome even if it really does turn out to be an exact clone of Leviathan.

^ I'm sure there will be something new about it. Who knows? Maybe a tunnel or something underground. But either way, this is gonna be fantastic. I live in VA, and so because Canada is so far away and this park is so much closer, I am extremely happy about this.

Regardless of the layout, I surely hope this isn't a Giga unless it is a company other than B&M. I'm not too fond of this "B&M Hyper and B&M Giga at a Cedar Fair park" idea. It just seems...redundant...to me.

Now if Carowinds got an I305-like coaster, that is a whole different story...

I think it's B&M. It totes fits the pattern.

CW:2008 Behemoth, 2012 Leviathon (did I spell that right? Doesn't look like it.)

KI: 2009 Diamond Back, 2014 Banshee (stupid Gatekeeper messin' up my patterns. You did that on purpose, didn't you?)

Carowinds: 2010 I232, 2015 Centurion (yup, I went there)

Just a personal opinion, I think this thing is going to have a layout more Raging Bull than typical B&M out and backs.

Nearly: leviathan

Back to topic, why would this be a clone of leviathan? Has anyone ever done such thing with such a big ride? I think that would be quite ridiculous.

If this is a B&M, I would like to see if they're capable of something different this time.

^Are the trims on leviathan frequently used? I thought that was the "natural" speed of the coaster.

^I think almost anything is better than nothing. The thing is, when a park is going to spend such a fortune on a coaster, it should be pretty good and please most people properly. I have never ridden Leviathan and I don't know what the GP thinks about it but I feel that, for instance, gatekeeper was not as popular among most people as they wish it had been. So, while a clone is better than nothing, why shouldn't they do something a little bit different?

I know, Gatekeeper was a big letdown. I probably could have fell asleep on the ride if it was longer

I just hope what they get can please everyone similar to Banshee.

^I do hope they learn a lesson from banshee. But then, if the coaster is going to open next year, there is nothing that they can do to change anything anymore.

But then, if the coaster is going to open next year, they would have designed it AFTER Banshee, right?

To be fair, Nitro and Silver Star are basically clones with a few differences. They do have the same exact turnaround though, and I bet their footer pattern looks very, very similar - so just because this thing might have the same(ish) turnaround section as Leviathan doesn't mean it will be an exact clone. I'd be shocked if it was, for sure.

Yes but they still didn't know how its reception would be.

My homepark is Wonderland and I've never found the trims to be forceful. What I mean is that the trims are always on but they aren't on full power and they don't shave off a lot of speed IMO.

Another speechless moment... Wish this Trimviathan clone will be Trimlessthan.

Have you been on Leviathan? The trims are barely noticeable, it's run very similarly to Behemoth. And besides, I thought its trim nickname was Leviatrim

Back to Carowinds, isn't Leviathans layout extremely similar to intimidator? At least Behemoth is all airtime hills to differentiate the two but it would seem weird to have almost the exact same layout just 100 feet taller, I'd be willing to bet a lot that this isn't a Leviathan clone.

Most B&M hypers are L shaped with the exception of a few(i.e.-diamondback and apollo's). I hope that this new giga has more ejector hills than floater. that way it will differentiate itself from intimidator. A tunnel would be nice too, to also make it different from intimidator. Whether its a leviathan clone or not, I just want it to be different enough from intimidator so that it isn't just a taller version of the same ride.
