Jew
Looks like the launch will pack a nice punch even if the rest of the ride doesn't really do anything else. Glad to see it finally opened!

cfc
Definitely looks like it's all about the launch.
denning
The kinetics of the ride flying through the building above you must be awesome.
Moose
What speed is this actually launching at? The video doesn't look all that fast.
ernierocker
Looks like a pretty rough ride. Could be how they mounted the camera that is making it look rough.
Zem
What speed is this actually launching at? The video doesn't look all that fast. According to RCDB it's 99.4 mph which now puts it at the 6th fastest coaster. Far from the original idea of having it be the worlds fastest. simon8899
^I would be if a) Formula Rossa had not been built in between and b) the compressed air system would not blow up at top speed.... But at least it is running now.
vacoaster09
Well the TÜV has cleared ride for a launch of 105 mph in 2 seconds, now the final clearance has to be given by the local authority. And German civil servants are not known to work fast... I will stand corrected if this will open this year... What speed is this actually launching at? The video doesn't look all that fast. I'd trust RCDB but if it is 105 then that would put it at the 5th fastest coaster then.
simon8899
^Even if the TÜV has cleared the ride for 105 mph the operator did not operate it that fast. Maybe they start with a lower speed and will see after some time how the compressed air launch system will do. As said it exploded some times - US engineering... Zem
I still wonder why they didn't just get another contractor to design the launch mechanism.
robbalvey
Looks like a pretty rough ride. It's hard to tell how rough it is. It also looks like they did not do a very good job mounting the camera for their POV.
GeForce
I rode the Ring°Racer today. The launch packs a lot. The rest of the layout is "okay". The brake after the launch slowed the train immense down. The ride is rough, but not that much. I liked it, because of the very intense launch. coaster-mm
Hi, Does anyone knows anything regarding the dates that they are operating the ride for the next couple of weeks (assuming it's still working for the next couple of weeks). It's only a 2,5 hour drive but when it's closed when we arrive........it will be a sad 2,5 hours drive back. Thanks, Paul

gisco
Nice to see it open. To bad it has taken so long to open. Not much special about this coaster anymore.

That's pretty much what I expected from this ride: nice forceful launch, brakes to kill the pace and a not so special layout. Would have been a lot better if the ride had opened in the planned date with the original record breaking top speed. Still, not bad.
TPDave
Glad to see this is finally opening, I can't help but feel it might be a bit f a let down though. I guess I'll have to wait until I ride but a multi-year wait for a coaster that has already had its trump card "trumped" is going to be difficult to ignore! Midgetman82
The whole chicken vs. egg thing is finally over, huh? Crazy to hear both Flying Turns AND Ring Racer are both finally operating in late 2013!

Mrlittle
When I read the name "Ring Racer", I think of carousels. Anyways, I'm sure this coaster will be fine for what it is. It would be cool to race a car while on the coaster.
Midgetman82
^^Ooh, good point. If temporary closures count, then my bets are on Ring Racer.
