Yeah Troy's a great coaster, really awesome!

By coincidence, i was there the same day as TPR and met Robb!

I had no idea you guys were coming that day, otherwise i would of signed up for the ERT for sure! But i got in a reasonable amount of rides without the ERT (not that you can EVER get enough rides on Troy!!!). Anyways, nice to hear you guys hade a great day to!

I know! Isn't it awesome? These are some of the "A-List ACE Executive Committee Members" who have been total dicks to both Elissa and I over the years.

The best part is when they got their cameras taken away. They always gave Elissa and I crap for filming and accused us of not getting parks permission to film, and here we are being escorted by the park to film, and then they try to take their cameras on without permission and they get them taken away! And then they gave the park attitude on top of it! How funny is that?

Paybacks are a bitch, aren't they? Had those people been at least somewhat decent to us over the years, we would have invited them into our ERT session like we did for all of you guys, but nope! Screw them!

--Robb "Maybe it will teach those crotchety old whiney ACErs to treat other people a bit nicer next time..." Alvey

Are any of the executive committee members under the age of 50?

I've seen very few people under 40 sporting those incredibly stylish nylon ACE jackets. You know, the ones that look 20 years out of style.

I have nothing against middle aged people, but I'm not exactly jumping over myself to join a group that's mostly the same age as my parents.

Honestly the only reason I'd consider joining a club is to attend an enthusiast event that required it. And once parks finally realize that you don't need to send some group of senior citizens $50 a year to be an enthusiast, I'll have no reason to join at all.

Dude - I am very nearly one of those middle aged people you talk about.

This TPR trip crowd ranged from 17 to 70+ and I think everyone mixed in pretty damn well so none of your ageist stuff thanks very much.

Grumpy old ACER's should not be a standard marker for everyone else over the age of 30 or an identifier of any particular club. That said I am assuming that ACE has more than their fair share of the same but still let's not do the brush and tar thing

Steve -I bet your parents are way cool - just they are your parents so hey!-C

^It's OK, Steve--ginzo will be one of us soon enough! Heh, heh, heh!

Yes, already the clock is ticking! AARP will be sending you a membership application before you know it, ginzo! Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Yeah, I mean, I'm 37 so I'm not far off in age from some of those ACE Executive Committee members.

It's not about age, IMO, it's about "attitude." We have TPR members that are just as old, if not older than some of the ACE "officials" but they don't act anywhere near as obnoxious as they do.

You should have seen them. They carried this "I'm better than everyone" attitude, which was most evident when they had their cameras taken away and they gave the park PR manager attitude! They acted as though they had some RIGHT to bring their camera on the ride because they were with ACE. Then we heard from several people who overheard them complaining about us and how we got to take our cameras on the ride and they didn't. I just don't understand why they need to act like that. Like I said, had they acted like decent humans, I would have gladly invited them to join our ERT session that night.

It was honestly embarassing for them. The park PR woman even asked me "Oh, do you know them?" and I had to explain that they were part of this "other group" and we had NOTHING to do with with.

Woah, I never said anything about a mixed group. In fact, I was decrying how unmixed ACE seems to be, at least the EC. My point was that I'd feel out of place with a group that is predominately in their 50s.

Don't you find it to be just a little bit strange that a group dedicated to coasters doesn't mix more "young blood" into their upper rankings? From the old school photos I've seen, it didn't used to be that way at all.

You're totally right, Chuck.

30 is mere months away. And then the AARP will be knocking on my door 20 years after that, which isn't as much time as it sounds.

That's because they ARE better than everyone. Don't you know that being on the ACE committee delegates you to rock star status? I bet those guys get more models hitting on them than Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt combined.

^Actually, AARP will start sending you their propaganda when you're in your mid-30s--at least that's what they did to me!

Awesome. I look forward to getting those sweet AARP discounts. Maybe TPR will offer an AARP discount on the trips some day.

Sorry chap - I was being age touchy and didn't mean to beat down on you, and in fact your second post explains what I missed in your first post.

2 things-

a)- I think you would be surprised at how well you would mix with 50 year olds, who in fact are ordinary 18 year olds with a few more years on the clock.

b) an organisation that has grown to the size of ACE probably becomes rather like a government department and so use it for what you can get, rather than expect it to support you!

^^^^Robb - I absolutely get your point. It is not only the attitude but the arrogance that does for this type of people. Maybe if they did a couple of your trips and saw a few episodes of 'My name is Earl' they might understand.

Steve-ask and you shall receive, whip it out and you shall be denied-C

I'm afraid you'll have to wait until you're in your 50s for those sweet discounts; when you hit 60, you'll be issued a bow tie, black wingtips, white socks, and sans-a-belt pants you can hike up to your nipples.

Chuck! You're so right, Robb recently started getting tons of AARP stuff and I laugh everytime it comes in the mail!!!

Back on track...

Toverland is one of my favorite parks on Earth. I can't wait till KT is about 2 years older then I'm sure it will be her favorite park as well!

Is it just me, or is it sad(well more of pathetic) that we will never see a park like Toverland in America? It looks like a great park, and the TPR TR's are always positive about it, and I can easily see why Elissa likes it so much. While I wouldn't call it an amusement park,(place with good coasters, weird flats, and areas of death does better ) it looks like an incredibly fun place. I wish there were places like this in America,, but you would have a bunch of kids being, let's see how many people can be on the triangle at once, and you know the rest.

The video was great, and Troy looks like the best GCI yet. It is one of the most twisted layouts on a coaster I've seen in a while, and the train seems to fly through most of them.

^there were quite a few incidents of TPRers almost wiping out small children on the Triangle of Triage. I personally had to jump over a kid and tweaked my knee. Luckily, no innocent children were maimed.

Here is a good idea - "Let's drink of bunch of beer and take over a kiddie play area." YAY!

I'M A VERY PROUD MEMBER OF ACE!

IF YOU GUYS DON'T MIND, KEEP YOUR DAMMMMMMMMMM COMMENTS TO YOURSELVES.

ACERS ARE WAY BETTER THAN YOU, GUYS AT THEMEPARK REVEIW!

STAY AWAY FROM OUR EVENTS, IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU.

This is hilarious. An ACE troll who types in all caps?! No way. You sure are living up to the club's stellar reputation there, buddy! I hear there's an ACE event in bantron.

Let me phrase it in a way you can understand...

Eey Robb,

I had a fun time joining you this afternoon in Toverland. But I heard you say at one point, that next time at Toverland you want to ERT on some more rides then Booster Bike an Troy. Not everyone was for example able to do the fantastic "survival course".

Here's a tip. Just spend one whole day at Toverland. Be there at 10 am till 6 pm. The park is never very crowded, so you won't need ERT and the whole day is cheaper as well. I mean, 2,5 hours in the park and 1 hour of ERT on their two mayor rides really was too short to explore the park properly.

But, if you come back to some parks in the neighbourhood, I will join you again. Great organization, keep it up!

I'm pretty sure the time alotted was enough for his group to hit the major rides and look around, considering they still had other places to visit. I know for this midwest tour in another 1 1/2 weeks, I bought some better walking shoes and a travel pillow because I know we're gonna be running. I looked at the schedule and said "Damn I'm gonna need to stretch in the morning" I have to buy some breakfast bars to eat too!

I'm gonna have fun, but I'm gonna be tired when I get back to Miami!
