asr
Yes, but they certainly didn't perfect it BEFORE it opened. Just like a certain blue and green series of overgrown Boomerangs I know... You know, I seem to remeber you mentioning that Six Flags just "they built the ride and just started running them". Sounds like TTD to me. Although, in your defence, Xcelerator was, to my knowledge reliable and successfull, where as the Invertigo came before the GIB, and was a maintnence nightmare, aswell as the fact that the Deja Vu's continue to hae problems after being open longer than TTD, whereas TTD is now running somewhat regularly. However, in my expierence, TTD isn't reliable, but I did go to it first thing on a cold morning that was also the day after the park opened. Not exactly optimal conditions. I will stop rambling now...
coastermaniac1
Well Screamscape has posted pictures of land clearing in the park so this sounds very likely now. I hope it happens because it looks like a really nice park but does'nt have any big coasters. http://www.screamscape.com/html/small_international_parks.htm
Disney Dood
2009/2010 - Ratatouille Coaster - Rumor - (8/22/07) Screamscape sources have informed us that Walt Disney World management has just approved the budget to fast-track construction of a new indoor spinning roller coaster based on the film Ratatouille. As rumored for the past few weeks, the ride system will be based on the coaster design used for Crush’s Coaster that just opened earlier this summer at Walt Disney Studios Paris. This is a customized varient of the Maurer-Sohne SC-2000 layout. The new coaster is expected to be placed in the Soundstage One area right next to Toy Story Mania and construction could start within the next six months. I'm happy. Thoughts? // Moved to rumors. Screamscape "sources" have been known to make a mistake or two over the years.

BarryH
I thought Ratatouille: The Restaurant would have been a better choice, but hey, I'll take a new ride anyday.
jazzimm
I thought Ratatouille: The Restaurant would have been a better choice, but hey, I'll take a new ride anyday. Yes, but people don't take trips from the northern states or Canada to check out the new restaurant. It would be a more fitting choice... but probably not the best. Homer
Alright, yet more stuff from Geauga Lake going away. First, Screamscape believes some KD fanboys in thinking that Dominator will be heading to the park next season. http://www.screamscape.com/html/kings_dominion.htm Second off, Michigans Adventure fanboys rejoice. You're finally getting a ride! But, what is it? Its Thunderhawk from Geauga. http://www.screamscape.com/html/michigan_s_adventure.htm
DerekRx
^If that happens, they may as well just close down the whole park and just operate as a waterpark! Maybe they're taking those two coasters out though because the algae has gotten so bad around them that the coasters are sinking due to the supports being eaten by tiny bacteria thriving on algae. No, that's not green cement or turf, it's a pond of algae. Yummy!
Hang And Bang
Looks like Six Flags St. Louis may be getting a new coaster for 2008... New Attraction - Rumor - (8/27/07) Screamscape has heard that there may have been a change of heart and instead of getting a copy of Coobrila next year, Six Flags St. Louis may get something much better “with wheels that ride on rails.” I like the sound of that, and after adding the family friendly Tony Hawk in 2007, perhaps they’re looking to add something with a little more punch in 2008. http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_st__louis.htm
Airtime&Gravity
^I'm guessing that that means a disk-o. I doubt the new Six Flags would build two coasters at the same park in consecutive years.
FeelTheFORCE
I hope Dominator gets moved to KD. It doesn't nearly get the amount of riders and credit it deserves at GL. Also, it still wouldn't be too far away from me. I was just hoping that if Dominator did ever move, that it wouldn't go to like GAm or somewhere out west. I would laugh so hard if it ended up being Villain.
Hang And Bang
^I'm guessing that that means a disk-o. I doubt the new Six Flags would build two coasters at the same park in consecutive years. Good point. And a disk-o would certainly be a welcome addition. I just think it would be great if SFSTL did get two new coasters consecutively. The park hasn't gotten near the amount of support that the other 2 original SF parks have gotten (or most of the other SF parks, for that matter). We could really use a new, BIG coaster to truly reignite interest in the park. Getting Big Spin was great - it's a fantastic coaster that's much better than I thought it would be. But with that out of the way, it's time to give enthusiasts something to shout about. Of course "No More Goliath's" Shapiro won't let that happen. spaceace12
Semi rumor, semi real. Fairgrounds at Six Flags St. louis is being removed (wasn't used this season)! Rumor is a new coaster. Comfirmed six flags is putting in 8 new coasters.
yankees15
^I wonder what parks will receive new coasters next year. Rumored to get coasters for next season: SFSTL- Land is getting cleared. SFFT- Batman track on property. SFDK- They are supposed to get a coaster in Zonga's spot. SFGAM- I heard they are removing Splashwater Falls. TGE- The SLC from Astroland? This leaves 3 more parks to receive a new coaster. It could be any of these: SFA SFGADV SFKK SFMM SFMexico SFNE SFOG SFOT LR Out of the parks left I really feel that SFNE, SFKK, and SFMexico will be the other park receiving coasters. asr
SFNE might get a coaster next year. Survey markers have started popping up in the southern part of the park, on trees near their car ride, and pathways near Splashwater Falls. Back in May Screamscape heard that a new attraction or maybe even a small to mid sized coaster would be going in around there. I am personally hoping for an Italian Job style launched coaster. We need something with a launch in New England, and something like Italian Job would also attract families.
yankees15
^That's a great idea! An Italian Job coaster would work perfectly for SFNE. I found Italian Job to be a very fun ride that the whole family could ride. It would be a great addition to the park if they got something like this, but I don't have my hopes up. Airtime&Gravity
If Great America does decide to build a coaster, then what could it be? The area taken up by Splash Water Falls and Great American Raceway is not that big of an area, and SF has three family coasters(Sprocket Rockets, Ragin Cajun and Whizzer), so I don't see another one being added. The only coaster that comes to mind that could possibly fit in a spot that small would be a euro-fighter the size of Rage or possibly Typhoon. However, as much as I'd like a euro-fighter at Great America, I doubt it will happen.
Team Thriller
I've heard that Cedar Point might take down Mean Streak. But thats been the talk for around a year now.

Shavethewhales
Bah, it'll be forever and a half before CP takes out Mean Streak. I mean, why take down what looks like an awesome coaster? You can't say that it doesn't look impressive, at least to everyone else.
Airtime&Gravity
^Exactly, and maybe when Kinzel retires, the new CEO will realize that if you trim a coaster to hell, then it will not be very fun. If Mean Streak was re-tracked and not trimmed, then it could be a decent coaster.(I'm sure it was re-profiled over the years, so that would need to be fixed too.) It looks like an amazing coaster with its' size and location, plus it is long so the GP will wait for it. As for Six Flags, 2008 seems to be a big year as the new owners have had enough time to plan where to take the company besides signing a business deal with every major corporation. If it is true that eight "new" coasters will be added(the SLC, B:TR and Ultra Twister aren't new), then it seems that they are confident with what they are doing.(although, did Six Flags ever open eight coaster in a year before 2006?) I just hope they don't overuse the same coaster like B:TR and place a wild mouse at every park.
Homer
Well, here's another coaster removal rumor deal going on. It looks like Great Adventure has had it with Chiller. http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_great_adventure.htm I received a strange rumor over the weekend, but I have the funny feeling there is some truth behind it this time. According to the rumor mill, Six Flags has finally had enough when it comes to all the problems with The Chiller after spending the last year spending time and money to try and really fix it for it for good. Don’t be surprised if they choose to pull the plug on this patient and move on. Despite the loads of downtime, tweaking the layout once, and countless other things. It wouldn't surprise me either. Though I will miss the good theming (that was themed after a bad movie).
asr
If Chiller does leave, I hope they get it running for a little while at least this season so people can get in last rides. I would really like to ride it again, and I would love to try out the Batman side I didn't get to ride when I was there in 2006.
Hang And Bang
At SFSTL Looney Tunes Town has been gutted (it took less than a week - things are moving quickly), paint markings are everywhere, and some of the structures near the Log Flume are supposedly being demolished. Definitely looks like we're getting another new coaster! Plus... (9/4/07) Tons of little red survey paint markings have been spotted all over the place where the new rumored coaster is expected to go. You can see photos of it posted to Negative-G. While some are still speculating it may be their own version of Goliath, I wood-n’t count on it. http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_st__louis.htm Not sure how I feel about SFSTL getting another woody. We need a big steel coaster.
